Great place in North Liberty, clean, good is always hot, tasty! No waiting, super service!

Holy wow. This place was incredible. As first timers in Iowa, we weren't sure where to eat and what even was available for a handful of vegetarians - but this place was IT and then some. We went on May 21st, and we were greeted by 2 men at 8:40 pm. They let us know the buffet was closing shortly but essentially implied "take as much as you can since we throw out everything at the end of the night anyways" so WE DID (as you can see from our plates. And we were FULL after a 10.5 hour drive, but then they brought out a custom made veggie pizza which we DEVOURED. An incredible experience for something we thought was a "mom & pop" shop for how nice the host was but happy to find out it's a chain that exists in our home state! read more

I have eaten at Pizza Ranch once and it was great, so I was excited to see one here since I've been stuck at the hotel for two days. I'm not sure if this was the normal for here but I was very disappointed. I will say Sunday at 4:30p when it's snowed is I guess not the best time to come here. Not much selection for a pizza buffet. Everything looked old and dried out. I was most excited for the chicken and it looked way overcooked and dried out. Wanted a salad but after looking at it decided not. Overall a unsatisfying disappointing waste of money. read more

The chicken has been pretty great when we order, but sometimes so greasy it drips from the box. We ordered delivery last week. The high-priced and small Italian Chopped Salad was missing several ingredients and didn't even have the right lettuce (lol!). They didn't deliver other parts of our order. We waited over 30 minutes to get the rest of it. You've got to prioritize fixing mistakes over new orders. The price is just too high for the overall experience. read more

Not a pizza person but this place has lots to offer than just pizza. The buffet is actually very good. Had fried chicken and it was juicy and moist. Salad bar had good choices as well. The pizza looked very fresh and was quite tempting but I didn't try it. I was with a group and everyone enjoyed their meal. Place was very clean. Just went to go to pizza with my girlfriend and family and did not have a pleasant time. The food was amazing (besides the hair we found) but it was just the way we were tried by staff. I was lied to about them serving specialty pizzas!! The only said that because it was 1 hour till closing time. When I ask another employee they said "yes we still serve them" and went to make them. I also did not wear a mask and they said we would have to pay for one. In my opinion, if you offer one then we should not have to pay for it. When calling about when they closed they said 6:30. But online it says 7. So they also lied about when they close cause they just didn't wanna serve us and they wanted to leave. Now I understand wanting to leave early as soon possible but it's your job to work up until your shift is over. Not a pleasant time and wouldn't recommend that anyone come here until things change. read more

It's a pretty good pizza joint. Basically like Cicis pizza. Like the Iowa version basically. Typical chain restaurant it's super quaint. But they aren't like super accessible for vegetarians or vegans which makes sense. I mean it's called PIZZA RANCH, not vegetarian ranch. So it's all good for now I guess. But I'm still trying to hold on to this whole 30 bandwagon even thought I'm struggling terribly. Imma still truck on regardless with my lil salad with minimal ranch. The chicken here is A1 which is surprising. Hella moist so that's an automatic dub. I haven't tried their pizza which should be the point of the review but I'm not gonna eat all that bread so sorry bout cha. read more

Great selection, food is fresh and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Plates are removed pretty quickly and the establishment is clean and well maintained. Both chicken and pizza are brought out on a regular basis fresh and delicious. Ordering the buffet they will bring out any kind of pizza you request and even drop off slices straight to your table. The staff at Pizza Ranch are literally the sweetest. I do not think a place could be owned by more kind or more considerate people. For Grinnell Games, they brought us free pizza just because we were working hard and they thought we would need a break. Once they got my pizza order wrong, and could not stop apologizing. They brought me a new pizza very quickly and let me keep my old one for free. Most of their pizzas are fairly standard. However, I love that you can put on as many toppings as you would like and still be charged the same price. They also have three pizza dough options, all of which are the same price. The options are endless! They're tuscan roma is delicious. I am such a sucker for pizza with fresh tomatoes. I also love their cheesy garlic sticks and their dessert pizza. Oh my goodness, I could literally eat an entire cactus bread dessert pizza on my own. It is your standard thick pizza dough dough topped with a streusel and white frosting. So delicious! I was blown away by the service at Pizza Ranch. Especially for a chain restaurant, nothing compares to the friendliness at this place. read more

I'm not a large fan of Pizza Ranch in general but the Grinnell location is better than most I've been to. They still have their issues though. The food is not always refilled quick enough and the service sometimes is slow. The food is ok in general but there are definitely better pizza buffets out there. read more

Traveling sucks. Especially when you leave warmer weather to the arctic tundra that is Iowa in January. That said, not wanting to leave my hotel room to get food, but needing to eat, I found Pizza Ranch. I placed the call at precisely 6:19pm. The call lasted 4 minutes. They quoted delivery of 35 minutes. My hotel main door is locked so when they arrived they would call for me to meet them. So after 22 minutes from when I placed the call, there was a knock at my door, I was supremely surprised. The driver was able to be let in the building so I didn't have to go out in the cold to meet her, she was friendly and the pizza was exceptionally hot and was very good. For the quality, price, and the service, this Pizza Ranch scores a no doubt 5 stars as a pizza place. Really good stuff. read more

Creepy!! Came into this restaurant around 3:30pm for a late lunch/early dinner with the family! However we walked in the door and there was NOONE in sight! LITERALLY! Waited a couple minutes and decided it was too creepy to wait and see if a worker did come out eventually! read more

I went to eat on a weekday afternoon. There were about a dozen people dining and no one was on line. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to the counter, I ordered and paid for the buffet and was told that if there was any kind of pie I wanted on the buffet to just ask. I said cheese, the guy said okay. The food already on the buffet line wasn't fresh and the pans were mostly empty. After 8-10 minutes, no change so I asked a teenager working there if fresh pizza was coming out and if I could get cheese pizza. He said he would check. I noticed employees in the kitchen standing and chatting. There were at least a half dozen tables with dirty dishes on them. Ten minutes later I asked the teenager again if more pizza was coming out. He said yes, barbecue and pepperoni. I asked about the cheese. He said, "oh, did you want cheese?" I looked over by the drive through window and saw some guys yelling something and joking and laughing. Five minutes later fresh pizza came. It was sausage. To be fair, It was good, but I never got cheese and there was never any fresh cheesebread. The buffet looked lame when I got there and stayed that way. I realize a weekday afternoon isn't the busiest time, but if they're gonna charge $10 for a buffet, then they should provide better service. Like the rest of the country, pizza is a very common commodity in Grinnell, so if the service sucks, why bother? read more
