Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much from Chinese food in the middle of Iowa. Actually, the…read morequality is pretty solid across the board. I tried probably about half the things in the buffet (and there is a ridiculous variety) and there was not a single thing I tried that was actually bad. I would skip the onion rings but I can't even call it bad since it's still better than burger king's. The variety is pretty crazy so it would be impossible to detail everything. There's a solid selection of both Chinese and American food, along with a Mongolian BBQ section where you can build your own Lo Mein plate. The desert section is kinda wild, lots of fruits, jello, cakes, pudding, and ice cream cups. The restaurant goes kinda crazy with the front lobby decoration. There's a Koi pond! It's a buffet so I'm not sure what to comment on the service, but I didn't have any complaints. Nothing on the menu was particularly outstanding to me, but that variety with consistently solid quality and rock-bottom prices (like $15 for an Adult, but my sense of pricing may be a bit off from being from SF Bay Area) is absolutely wild.

Had the shrimp from the hibachi area I should have knew better because it wasn't frozen it was thawed out in a big pile. Shrimp onion zucchini bean sprouts and broccoli to be exact. Used ginger powder onion powder garlic powder and asked for spicy oil. Eaten an egg roll some sushi. As I'm eating my sister in law noticed her fish wasn't cooked all the way through. Her husband had informed a person about it. Workers behind the sushi line and hibachi line were constantly on their phones texting or scrolling who knows. Red flag #2 cross contamination. I'm upset this is my mother in laws favorite birthday spot we've been coming here for 6 years. The way I had projectile vomited and had diarrhea last night was unacceptable. I practically threw up 3pounds I also haven't eaten anything all day so I know for sure it was something from here

I've been here several times throughout the years. I went in today to get takeout. Very friendly…read morestaff. So, this is a place where you pick all the raw foods you want in your dish, as well as all the sauces you want. YOU are the person who controls what you get. The food is cooked on a large, very hot grill. It takes less than 5 minutes after the cook gets it and it's done. The food area was clean and well stocked. I got my takeout meal with a large order of potstickers. All tasted great. I watched as an order was prepared for DoorDash. It looked really good. I may try that sometime in the future. Lot parking. Price for lunch is $13 plus tax. Get the app and use it for free food. It's all you want to eat when you dine in. I believe the dinner comes with soup or salad. HuHot A Family Fave…read more Our kids go to college in Ames and they love HuHot Mongolian BBQ. It's quickly become a family favorite. Since it's a self-serv Mongolian BBQ you don't have to wait to order and you can customize your stir fry dish any way you like. Buffet items include various meats, fish, tofu, assorted veggies and various sauces and oils. Everything is then stir fried on a giant wok. It comes out hot and ready to eat in about 5 minutes. Best of all my twenty somethings and their "plus ones" can eat as much as they want, and I pay one low price. Yay! It's like Benihana but better: faster, cheaper and more casual. Perfect for what we want.

4/16/26 6:00 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: Everything was absolutely delicious! We ordered orange chicken, sesame chicken, chicken with green beans, 8pc crab rangoon, 4pc teriyaki chicken, bar-b-q spare ribs, chicken lo mein, and a side of sweet and sour sauce. For starters, the teriyaki chicken is my new favorite lol. It's not dry or overcooked and it's cooked thoroughly. The bar-b-q spare ribs are super tender and smothered in sauce; so good! We were pleasantly surprised with the orange chicken as well. It's not overly in your face orange flavored nor is it too sweet. The sesame chicken is also really well flavored. The noodles in the lo mein were firm and soft at the same time with great flavor. The chicken in it was tender and thankfully, the noodles weren't overloaded with veggies. Honestly, I'm not big on crab rangoon, but these are good! They're filled to the brim and really creamy. Chicken with green beans exceeded my expectations and it will definitely be on my "always order" list lol. Portion sizes were more than I expected as well. They really pack the to-go containers and the meat itself is good, large chunks. I can't wait to try more of the menu! Service: We were promptly greeted when we walked in and the wait time was minimal. The staff was pleasant and greeted us with a smile as well. While ordering online, it was a bit of a pain and it tells you to add a tip before checkout, which was almost not an option to opt out if you wanted to. Our order was correct and done quickly, even though they were busy. Ambiance: It's not the biggest inside, but that didn't stop others from dining in. It was packed for dinner rush and smelled amazing. Overall, it was kept clean, no debris or old food on the floor or tables. The menu is large and easy to navigate. While it was full, it wasn't uncomfortable; not elbow to elbow.

We have never had a bad dinner here the takeout was always correct and the food was deliciousread more
