Walked in July 23 , with a big group, exhausted bc of the heat and family in the hospital and was given thr private party room at no extra charge. Really nice of them. Buffett was stocked and requested pizzas were brought out soon after. Soda machine was not working right , most options were flat, but maybe they were working on it bathrooms clean and everyone was friendly. Will be back next time in town. read more

Went there for a birthday party today and they literally had no food out in the middle of the afternoon. The pizza looked like it was frozen and we wouldn't even eat it. We paid almost $50 for takeout for six adults to eat tonight. $26.99 for a 12-piece chicken meal, including potato wedges and a roughly quart size serving of vegetables. They were out of corn so we had to get green beans. We also chose to add mashed potatoes and a large cactus bread. We only waited about 10 minutes longer than the quoted time, but we were missing our cactus bread and (as pictured) only received enough wedges to feed maybe two people. We went back in to get the cactus bread we paid for and to ask about the small number of wings. To make up for it, they gave us three biscuits... when there were six of us. Definitely not planning to get carryout from this location again. read more

Delicious pizza, good salad bar, some of the best friend chicken I've ever had. At first glance it seems odd to have this combination but it works! It's all buffet style but when you pay for the buffet do you let them know what kind of specialty so you would like them to make and then they bring it to your table and ask you how many pieces of that do you want before putting the rest on the buffet for others. Am an out of state Truck Driver. Checked this place out when I passed it going to Walmart. Decided to check it out. I really liked the fried chicken here. A good country style recipe. Crunchy outside, tender juicy inside. My only wish, would be a better grade of mashed potatoes. Seemed to be a pasty box/instant type. The pizza bar was ok. I didn't stop in for the pizza. Salad bar was fresh with good selections. Dessert bar was Dessert Style pizza. A lot of sweetness with an Ice Cream machine. There were many special order pizzas on the buffet which made me a little nervous because I didn't know all that was in them. The basic pizzas were good. I live in Kansas City , and they just built one of these there. I stay here for work so obviously my options are limited in ottumwa. I really liked this eatery, of course on opening day every ottumwanite in town is heading here, what else have they got to do! so pizza ranch is going to be pushed to clean tables, stock food, and have cashiers that are not nervous their first day. When I have gone the place is busy, clean and the food is hot and stocked. If you want a pizza you don't see, then you ask them for it and they bring it to your table. The fried chicken is awesome, bbq, salad bar and dessert bar and unlimited refills on beverages are included. I can feel my waist line expanding already and can't wait for the one by my house to open. read more

Jesus, guys, give them a break. Obviously they're not gonna have their s**t together on their OPENING NIGHT. For God's sake, most of their employees are working for the first time in their lives. I've gone there multiple times since they've opened, and I've always left satisfied. I even walked in and ordered a pizza to go, and they gave me a complimentary drink while I waited. I love their buffalo chicken pizza, as well as the BLT, and lots of others from there. I recommend this place to everyone. There's no reason this restaurant should be short of a 5 star rating. Ok, I admit it. Buffets are not good for me. If the food is good, I can try way too many offerings. The Ottumwa Pizza Ranch can really fill me up. It is a newer location, opening in 2012. There is adequate parking and plenty of seating space. When I entered today I received a prompt and friendly greeting. While paying I was asked (as always) for special requests so they could meet my desires. And when asked, don't be afraid to request your favorite dessert pizza as well as any traditional one. Food was hot on the buffet and replenished regularly. My special order was delivered to my table ("How many pieces would you like?") in a very reasonable time. But no waiting--I had been to the buffet! Of course, the chicken was super. With salad, pizza, chicken and fixings, and dessert (including soft serve at this location), there is plenty to choose from. Tables were cleaned promptly when I have been there, and there are staff members circulating to pick up plates as you finish. Compared to Ci Ci's pizza buffet, give me Pizza Ranch any day (though Ci Ci's has the best sweet rolls around!). And look for the specials. Example: Monday and Wednesday senior buffet is $6.99 all day. A deal. Bring your appetite and save up on those calories all day. You'll get your fill here. Recommended. read more

My wife and I ate at Pizza Ranch often but noticed they took from the salad bar three things that we like. Cottage cheese,cole slaw and potato salad. We asked why they took it off and the employee said that they had to. This was in Ottumwa but we went to one in Fairfield and they had all of the above on the salad bar. We don't eat at the Pizza Ranch now as much as we used to. read more
