Even the rice was very good, not having that dried out texture that it can sometimes get when it sits in a steamer pot for too long. The sushi was also surprisingly good. I never set my expectations high for buffet sushi, but I keep the bar even lower at small town restaurants that serve sushi. I mean, who expects decent sushi at a small town Iowa buffet? It was surprisingly tasty, even if the selection was limited to only one roll type item. My only gripe is that it was kind of dark inside, in spite of the windows being unobstructed and the sun being out. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine, but buffets really should portray a clean and bright environment to emphasize that they are high caliber restaurants.
