This famous pizzeria close to the beach in Delray is very good, but does not live up to its billing. This Roman style pizza is very flavorful with lots of variety, but resembles Ellio's slightly. I had one of the most ridiculous experiences outside your pizza place. Some random guy standing outside the entrance told my friend he needed to hand over his ID to get in. Naturally, we assumed he worked there, because why else would someone be collecting IDs at your door? Turns out he doesn't even work there. He had no authority whatsoever, yet he took my friend's ID and then handed it to someone else to look at as a joke. An ID has personal information on it, and having some random person outside your business taking it and passing it around like a prop is incredibly irresponsible and frankly shady. If someone is going to be standing outside your entrance acting like they represent your business, you should probably make sure they actually do. The business actually laughed at this man's behavior and treated us like a spectacle. Customers shouldn't have to deal with strangers pretending to check IDs and messing with people's personal identification. It was unprofessional, sketchy, and a terrible look for your establishment. You should really get control of what's happening outside your own door. read more

Stopped in for a bite while walking the town/beach! Being from NY and visiting, my now local friend suggested this. The portion size is large for a slice, but they do charge $7-8 for a "slice" which is more like 2 slices. I had the coarser which was decent and my friend had the Provençal which was similar but had garlic and hers was even better! Crispy crust! Came here on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks show and it was great! Tons of people ordering and they handled the crowd really well. Staff was super sweet and recommended the 4 pigs pizza which isn't usually my thing but I'm so glad I got it because it was delicious. Slices are huge it's like the size of a small personal pizza. Wow! This pizza was GOOOOOOOOD! We were in town for the weekend and searching for a late night bite on a Friday. This pizza place was close by and still open. We called in the order for pick up and it was ready right on time. When the gentlemen cooking pizzas pulled ours out of the oven we asked if they could toast it up a bit more and they happily obliged. We took the pizza to go but there were a few tables inside and a bit of outdoor seating right on Atlantic Ave! We had ordered the Roman Style Tray with cheese and sausage. The pie itself is pretty pricy (~$40 before tax and tip) but it was incredibly tasty and ended up feeding two of us for three meals! I love the buttery crust, it was crispy and delicious and the toppings were excellent. One of my favorite pizzas I've had in years! If we were to dine again we'd likely order a smaller version of this pie but they have so many different slice options that all looked excellent as well! Really bizarre and unprofessional experience. Someone standing outside this pizza shop on St. Patrick's Day weekend was stopping people and asking for IDs before letting them in. He was wearing a green wig and appeared to actually work there. After I handed him my ID, he passed it around to someone sitting at a table before eventually giving it back. Staff inside seemed to think it was funny instead of addressing it. IDs contain personal information, so letting random people handle them is completely inappropriate. If this place is going to check IDs, it should at least be done by actual employees or security, not someone on the sidewalk passing customers' IDs around like a joke. read more

This pizza-by-the-beach institution has an amazing array of pizzas by the slice and whole pizzas. Their menu includes 28 different pizzas in addition to any unique combo you design. Most of the pizzas include a tempting mix of ingredients. For example, BBQ chicken includes onions and peppers in addition to the cheese and sauce. Other pizzas include Hawaiian (ham & pineapple), spinach & blue cheese, cajun shrimp, NY steak, 4 cheese, and whole wheat. Most of the pizzas by the slice are Roman style with thick crust. The slices are large enough to share. Whole pizzas can be either Roman style or thin crust NY style. We shared a slice of NY style pepperoni pizza, which was pretty good and had lots of big pieces of pepperoni. Pizza Rustica no longer has a soda fountain but they have a good selection of soft drinks in a can. The gal who served us was very nice and seemed happy to be there. There are a dozen antique pizzas looking like dead soldiers sitting in the cabinet for God knows how long and even after reheating, the slice we had was terrible and tasted like cardboard. Grabbed a slice of white pizza after coming off the beach yesterday. Can't tell you exactly what was on it, but I know it had feta cheese and it was very tasty!
