    VODKA RONI pizza

If you're looking for delicious Detroit-style pizza, you need to check out Death by Pizza! This was my second time here, and I'd never tried Detroit style before coming here (I'm partial to an NY slice) but it was phenomenal! This time around we got the vodka, Roni pizza and the cup pepperoni is absolutely delicious. The flavors are out of this world and I really enjoyed the crispy edges. They also have hot sandwiches that look really good, and big cookies too. Very filling pizza. It's takeout only, so just be prepared for that. We ordered our pizza as a walk-in and it took 30 minutes to be ready. They texted us when the order was up and it was a smooth transaction. Next time we will try their buffalo chicken pizza. Absolutely awesome pizza, give them a try!

I've heard such good stuff and so we had to stop we made a mistake and went to the carry out only location but probably the best car pizza ever. We tried a lot of things and all were delish. Pizza was by far the fave followed by the egg rolls and the sando Pizza was a special and a regular they serve with pesto. Both had ricotta in crust and so much goodness. The hot honey on the special was just right. The Philly egg rolls had cheez whiz inside that was like a molten lava cake so good. The sando was fried cutlet with vodka sauce and cheese omg even the least fave item we ordered was an 8.5. Also got the cookie it's a 1/2 lb. Good crispy on edges and a def must do

Death by Pizza - what a great name and they also happen to deliver on it (and no, they don't deliver). Outstanding pizza! Pepperoni is still my favorite. Don't forget to try their huge chocolate chip cookies; also outstanding!

Spinach dip pizza was amazing! Chicken à la vodka sandwhich was below average for me. Huge but not much flavor.

Wow, just wow. We started with the meatballs and whipped ricotta (so good) and moved onto the main act: the Gandolfini pizza which consisted of sweet Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, mozzarella, sweet sauce, basil, and a drizzle of honey. The pie is so fluffy and delicious and the flavor is unmatched *Chefs kiss* We added the garlic bread (a must), and it did not disappoint. This place came highly recommended and totally lived up to the hype. We'll definitely be back to try one of their weekly specialty pies!! and I've got my eye on the garlic parm wings on their menu for next time.

Chicken Parm Sando | fried chicken milanese, sweet sauce, mozzarella & basil on an italian seeded roll

Update -- Friday, 12/6/25 We finally had a pizza... and OMG, YUMMMMM! We ordered the Rupert Pupkin -- fried chicken Milanese, mozzarella, vodka sauce, pecorino, and basil. It's like a deep-dish-style pie with a rich, buttery crust. The vodka sauce was so good we instantly regretted not ordering an extra side just to dip the pizza in. When we picked it up, we couldn't even wait to get home... we each sampled a slice in the car, and it was perfect. We also grabbed a side of wings in the Korean BBQ flavor. They were solid, but we were a little disappointed that they didn't come with blue cheese or ranch -- dips are extra if you want them. Overall, though, both the pizza and the wings were absolutely delicious. Death by Pizza is truly that perfect hole-in-the-wall spot you hit when you're craving a really good pie (they don't do slices) or a solid sandwich. It's not a dine-in place -- you order, pick it up, and take it home... or you end up eating it on the sidewalk because you're too greedy to wait. I've been there. Previously, I hadn't tried their actual pizza yet, but my hubby had -- so that was on the agenda for this visit. Before this, we tried the Vodka Parm Fried Chicken à la Vodka Sando (fried chicken Milanese, vodka sauce, mozzarella, and basil on an Italian seeded roll -- $19) and the Chicken Parm Sando (fried chicken Milanese, sweet sauce, mozzarella, and basil -- $19). Both sandwiches were really good. Our only complaint? We wanted more sauce to dip them in. We're greedy -- but honestly, that's just how good they were.

THE BEST DETROIT PIZZA IN ALL OF FLORIDA!!! Do not even try anything else compared to Koby's recipes here. What an amazing pizza pie and worth the price in today's society..

A slice of Philly Cheesesteak and a slice of Buffalo. Really good

I have been wanting to try DBP for a while and never had the opportunity. When it comes to pizza, my wife doesn't care for some of the ingredients that the more "Fancy" or "Artisan" places tend to use. When I saw this weeks specialty slices included the Philly Cheesesteak, and I had to pass by for a meeting a little further north, this was my opportunity to try them. I got there a few minutes before noon and waited penitently. When welcomed in they had a bunch of different pizzas hot and ready to go. I selected the Philly (Obviously) and the Buffalo. Both of which were adorned with finishings to make them look even more tasty and delicious. The Philly was excellent, they put a little whiz on top and spread it over the onions and steak. Not too messy as the cheese congealed and was quite east to be eaten. The Buffalo was also delicious, not too spicy and well topped. The total for two slices (and a beverage) was less than $13 and in today's financial climate, reasonable. I would like to try their vodka parm sandwich in the future. Place was clean, lots of help working to ensure pizza was available to the masses that appeared out of nowhere when the door opened.

This is one of the only pizza places that I can say is unforgettable. If you're craving Detroit-style pizza, this place delivers flavor and crispiness in every bite. Offering thick slices of pizza with so many different toppings and flavors, it's hard to choose just one. Pizza by the slice is only available from noon to 4 PM, so plan accordingly if you just want a quick bite. The staff is super friendly and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The interior was sleek and modern, and just my vibe. Whether you're a local or just passing through Delray Beach, Death By Pizza is more than a meal. Five stars, no hesitation.

    MR. WHITE
    Julia M.

This is the new and "best" pizza place in Delray. I was excited to try it and while it was good, I think it's a little overhyped. After placing an order for pickup, it was a 1.5 hour wait, which turned into two hours, as the pizza wasn't ready on time. The guy did apologize for the delay, which was nice. There's also no dining room so you either have to pick up or get it delivered. There's also no parking and the wait to pick up is always out the door. We ordered an eggplant pizza and a white pizza. The white was my favorite and it packed a lot of flavor. The eggplant was okay. The eggplant was chewy and there wasn't enough sauce on the pizza. Given its Detroit style, the crust is really thick. They also coat their crust in either oil or butter. It's a little too thick for my liking, but the dough is moist and fluffy. The prices are also incredibly expensive but the pizza is really filling so be prepared to have leftovers. Two pieces filled me up. Overall, I still prefer thin pizza and I do think this place is overrated. I wouldn't hesitate to go back but I'm also not rushing to go back.

I've been meaning to drive over to Downtown Delray Beach to check out this pizza shop I've had my eye on for a few years from Instagram. The shop is very tiny I must warn so I had to eat in my car but that's not a issue for me but just want to give a heads up if you are planning on dining in. I ordered the Mr. White slice that was doughy on the inside and crispy on the outside as these are thick Detroit style slices. One and I was done! Very VERY filling so keep that in mind when you are looking at all the yummy slice options. Ingredients tasted fresh and the service was quick. So glad I finally got to try this South Florida hot spot for myself!

Buffalo chicken (top) / Pepperoni (bottom)
    Nicole T.

They serve up deep dish pizzas and sandwiches packed with flavor. I tried a bite of the pepperoni which had a good balance of sauce, cheese and meat. I had a slice of the buffalo chicken and this was a good pick! The chicken is smothered in a spicy, tangy buffalo sauce and the soft, warm crust has a nice crunch. It's a bit of a drive from where I live and a pick up only establishment so I had to find a place to pull over and eat. There's no way I was waiting until I was back home. If you're in Delray and craving deep dish pizza, Death By Pizza is a great option. I'd recommend ordering ahead to avoid the rush and having to wait too long.

I drove all the way from Miami just to eat at Death By Pizza, and let me tell you.......it's absolutely worth the trip! At first, I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it since my kids and I are usually thin crust-only fans. But several pushes from my friends, we gave it a shot. One and a half hours later, we were in pizza heaven! The pesto pizza was my personal favorite and I thoight it was the reason for the name of the restaurant, because it truly was to die for! The crust had the perfect crunch, and the flavor was absolutely incredible. I've never had anything like it. We also tried the Burnt Tips pizza, loaded with flavor! It had a generous helping of onions (a little more meat would've made it perfect for me), but it was still great! My son ordered a wrap and couldn't believe the size! It was huge! He tore it up nd said it tasted amazing. My daughter went for the vodka pizza with pepperoni, and WOW! One bite and I could see why she didn't want to share. It was packed with bold, delicious flavors. Luckily that pizza wasnt sold by the slice so I snatched a slice before she and her best friend could eat them all! We loved it so much, we went back the very next week! The first time, we ate at their sit down location in a peaceful, calm neighborhood. It was a great atmosphere. Amazing service and the greeters were so professional and sweet. Almost made me feel I was walking into a 5 star fine dining restaurant! . The second time, we tried their downtown pickup only spot to save time, but the experience wasn't quite the same. That location is more like a pick up locarion and the area has quite a bit of homelessness, so next time we'll definitely return to the original sit down location. Bottom line? Death By Pizza is hands down one of the best pizza spots in South Florida. Unique flavors, great portions, and a totally memorable experience. We're already planning our next trip! But this time Im taking several boxes and freezing slices so we can defrost for later! Oh! One more thing! I completely forgot about the meatball pizza. It wasnt as good as the others i felt. It has the potential to be great but the meatballs lacked flavor. We ordered an entire pie of that one and yet I was so underwhelmed by that pizza that I forgot to include it in my review. I would still go to to Death by Pizza since the majority of the pizzas we had were amazing

Happy hour runs from 3-6 PM and is possibly one of the best deals offered on the Ave. For drinks, I tried their version of an espresso martini, which was excellent, along with the strawberry martini that was sweet, refreshing, and easy to enjoy. For food, we ordered two pizzas: the La Vodka and the Margherita. Both were delicious, flavorful, and very filling. My only complaint was related to another group of customers rather than the restaurant itself. A couple meeting up with a friend brought an infant and stroller and attempted to sit directly at the bar. While they were trying to maneuver into the corner, I was repeatedly bumped and kicked in the back by the child. I completely understand people wanting to enjoy themselves, but if bringing children to a bar area, it's important to be mindful of the limited space, other guests around you and realize it's inappropriate to have minors at the bar.

Unfortunately, after driving 40 minutes to get there, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived around 6:20 PM on Saturday, May 30th. The restaurant appeared to have roughly six open tables in a dining room of about fifteen tables. A party ahead of us was seated immediately (perhaps they had a reservation), but when we approached the host stand, we were told the wait would be 40 minutes. There was no visible crowd waiting, but okay, fair enough. The host mentioned we could be seated outside immediately. With storm clouds rolling in and the Florida humidity doing its thing, we politely declined and asked to be added to the waitlist. While we were putting our name down, the party that had just been seated inside got up and moved outside. Naturally, I asked if that changed anything. The answer was still "40 minutes." I'm not a mathematician, but that one was hard to follow. We stepped outside to find somewhere nearby to wait. There wasn't really anything in the plaza, and I noticed I never received a confirmation text. Since most restaurants using waitlists send some type of confirmation these days, I had a bad feeling and decided to go back in to verify my information. A different hostess was at the stand. I explained that I wanted to confirm my phone number because I hadn't received a text. She looked at the tablet and said, "I got you." Okay... but I wasn't asking if you had me. I was asking if you had my number. Again, I asked to confirm it. Again, I was told, "You're good." So my wife and I went back to our car and waited. Forty minutes came and went. Nothing. At around 7:15 PM, my wife noticed they were on OpenTable and made a reservation for 7:30 PM just in case. By 7:20 PM, I decided to walk back inside and check on our status. This is where things went completely off the rails. Both hosts looked up our name and, with surprising enthusiasm, informed us that they had canceled our place on the waitlist. Why? Because they had supposedly texted and called us with no response. I asked what number they contacted. Turns out the number was wrong by one digit. The same phone number I had specifically come back inside to verify. The same phone number that nobody actually verified. When I reminded the hostess that I had literally come back to confirm my number and was told, "I got you," she seemed completely unfazed. The other host then insisted that he had read the number back to me and that I had confirmed it. After telling my wife what he claimed, she told me that not only had he read the number back correctly, but she had repeated it correctly to him as well. So the information was clearly correct at that point, which makes it seem like the number was changed before the reservation was saved. At that point I asked to speak with a manager. To his credit, he came over quickly. Unfortunately, instead of immediately focusing on solving the problem, the initial response felt more focused on defending what had happened. What frustrated me most wasn't the mistake itself. Mistakes happen. It was the lack of ownership and the lack of a solution. After waiting nearly an hour because of an error made by the restaurant, I had to repeatedly ask what the plan was. Even then, the answer was essentially, "Maybe another 20 minutes. I'm not really sure." That's where the experience completely fell apart for me. A simple: "I'm sorry. Let me get you seated outside with a drink while we get an indoor table ready." Or: "We made a mistake. You're next for the first available table." Or even: "I understand why you're upset. Let me see what I can do to make this right." Any of those responses would have gone a long way. Instead, I was left feeling like I was inconveniencing everyone by expecting a solution to a problem they created. As we were leaving, the manager followed us outside and said he wanted to help if we were willing to work with him. The problem was that even then, there still wasn't an actual solution being offered. At that point, after nearly an hour of waiting, multiple missed opportunities to verify information, a canceled spot on the waitlist, and no clear path forward, we decided to leave. I drove 40 minutes to try this restaurant and never even got the chance to order a drink. That's impressive in its own way.

DISAPPOINTING PIZZA…read more.. A 3am pizza parlor in a perfect trendy location near Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach. Bright red illuminated "Mama's Up All Night" name proudly affixed to the front exterior wall. Relaxed front patio table seating but mainly a grab & go custom pizza concept offering slices. A few little red tables inside hugging a massive chalk board with childish chalk drawings and words as a part of the simple ambiance. The front counter displayed several sicilian and NY style pizzas loaded with mouthwatering toppings. So far everything looked promising. The two female employees were friendly and one cut me a slice of cheese pizza and slid it into the stainless steel commercial double oven for a few minutes. Paid a premium price of $4.75 but the slice was oversized. At this point everything went south quickly. Out of my view, the wife took one bite of the pizza and gave me a strange look and told me to try it. Hesitated for a second, then chomped down on the front of the slice and instantly thought my taste buds were shot so took a second bite and told my wife it was completely tasteless with no crunch to the undercarriage either. My wife said it was horrible and sadly I agreed. Based on the first glance of the slice and the welcoming decor, I was anticipating a great slice of pizza. As a self-proclaimed pizza enthusiast with over one hundred pizza reviews, this was the first time I threw a slice of pizza into the garabge as the employees peered in confusion. Not even sure how a slice can have zero flavor, this was a first. I'm curious what brand of garlic, sauce and cheese were used to produce the bland effect. Wonderful spot for a late night drunken stuper with no concern for a tasty slice but honestly thats it - Buyer Beware. The gender neutral bathroom was open to customers only but had a sign posted that the toilet was broken which was only to deter drunks.
