I generally enjoy the atmosphere and the food quality is high. Unfortunately the service sets the number back from 4 to 2-we sat in the bar area and the bartender was absent for sometime then upon returning chatted rather than realize and provide drinks to the recent arrivals...then left again. The food is great whether it is pizza, the soup, or appetizers. I have never gotten food that was bad. The place itself is appealing both in the restaurant part as well as the bar. I love the ambiance. When you first walk into the bar from outside you can see the cute lights and bar tappers on the ceiling. I have never had a tine when they are out if what I wanted. The service is fantastic, the wait staff and bartender are friendly and always attentive. I would highly recommend this place. The parking is adequate and it us a good place to bring your family or carryout. The company (customers) is so nice and easy to talk to. FYI - they have free popcirn and if gambling is your deal, they can accomodate you. read more

Stopped here for lunch while in town based on a recommendation and really enjoyed the lunch. The restaurant was very clean and modern with nice decor (see pictures), the workers were all very friendly and the place was quite lively. I ordered the grilled chicken pizza (see picture) and really liked the seasoning, crust and overall flavor. Unfortunately, I didn't save room for gelato after the pizza...so will save that for the next visit. They were packed when we got there, so we had to wait for a table, but it was totally worth the wait. They had so many delicious options to choose from that it was a little overwhelming. I got the Greek pizza, and it was SO flavorful. I loved all the fresh basil. My son enjoyed the gluten free pizza and even got to have gluten free cheesecake, an unusual bonus, which he LOVED. There was one other table when we arrived, but hey stared to get busy as we departed. Mollie was our server, super nice! Everything was just so smooth. Drinks, refills, food came out PIPING hot, she cleared our plates for dessert. This pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. Crispy crust, buttery around the outside. None of that sourdough taste. The sauce was perfect, the cheese was solid, but gooey. Let's talk gelato. I had raspberry, with real seeds and all. Creamy and icy. The other flavors at our table were banana, cookies and cream and a vanilla bean. Not just vanilla, you could see the flecks of bean in the gelato. Bathroom as clean, basic like gramma's house. Have dined there a few times, my family really likes the sausage pizza. It is cooked in a wood fire oven. They have many other choices on the dinner menu. They are also busy at lunch having homemade soups and sandwiches. They're salads also are enjoyed by many. i believe any group or individual would be able to find a satisfying lunch or dinner. additionally they have a bar in front and attached to the business. Checked this local place out on Friday night Since we were in town for a baseball tournament. The restaurant lounge area were very clean and the service was also acceptable. It's brick oven pizza so it has a nice flavor was a toasted crust. Portions we're very generous even with the appetizers. This isn't the best pizza I've ever had but it really is pretty good. It's not going to break your bank and it's a welcome addition to the small little town. I would definitely go back here if I'm in town for a baseball tournament again. read more

I drive by this place all the time, on my way into Rock Island, and have always wanted to try it. Today we had the opportunity to stop, and what a fantastic hidden gem! A great assortment of pizza combinations, I had the Sicilian plus mushrooms, and my son had the Grilled Chicken. Both were very tasteful, the crust was crunchy, and tasted good, the toppings seemed to be fresh and quality. Their menu for salads was also impressive. something that would seem to please multiple palettes. Would definitely suggest to anyone looking to get out of the cities, for something rather unique. The food at Pagalo's is good and reasonably priced and the service is fast and friendly. We went in with 4 people around 8 pm on a Sunday. We were seated immediately. They have a small but good selection of beers, including local options. I don't recall the exact brewery but we tried various styles - IPA, blonde, pale ale. All were good. Three of us ordered salads. We got half sizes, which are huge. Can't imagine the size of a whole order. I got the garden, which had romaine lettuce and a good variety of veggies. I ordered the house chipotle ranch dressing. I wasn't too impressed. It didn't have much flavor. Someone else got the Caesar and said it was pretty good. We order 3 medium pizzas - Hawaiian, a Spinach, and an Italian Stallion (a meat lovers pizza). The medium pies are 12" so we had a lot of food and ended up taking half of it to our hotel. The crust was fairly thin and chewy, which was good. Their tomato sauce was kind of bland to my taste, maybe needed some salt or garlic. The spinach was most bland and I hit it with lots of crushed pepper. The Hawaiian was the typical salty sweet. The Stallion was the best. The sausage had a decent amount of seasoning. Our waitress was very good. She was friendly and attentive but she pretty much left us alone once we had our food. I didn't pay the bill but prices seemed reasonable for all the food we got. I came to Pagalo's a couple of weeks ago for restaurant week and it was entirely forgettable. The service was as mediocre as the food. We sat near the open kitchen where employees complained about their lives and terrible coworkers at full volume. The restaurant week deal sounded pretty good: $18 for salad, pizza, and gelato. However, they were out of some of the stuff we wanted and, despite the fact that 'gelato' is part of the name of their restaurant, only two flavors were available. My caprese salad was really good, though, and probably the best part of my meal. The crust of the pizza was way softer and thicker than typical wood-fired pizza -- in a bad way. The toppings, while not bad, were very mediocre. With the vast amount of competition they have in the Quad Cities, I'm surprised that Pagalo's has stayed open for so many years. The next time I'm hungry for pizza, it will fall dead last on an incredibly long list. read more

I've seen reviews people complaining about lack of masks and social distancing, that's the reason we picked to go there the first night! There are times where a bad experience can be attributed to bad management, or an unmotivated employee. This was not one of those times. I received my order, it was missing a whole half a sandwich, and a soup. Both the employee and the manager tried to argue with me, stating that you get a soup or a salad with the lunch combo, not both, when we paid the $2 extra for the salad as well. We really enjoyed our dinner here! We ordered 3 small pizzas so that we could try a variety. We ordered the garlic chicken pizza, the Sicilian, and the Thai chicken pizza. We enjoyed them all! The Thai chicken was pretty spicy (just like the menu said). I could only eat one piece but my husband loved it. The garlic chicken was also delightfully full of garlic. The Sicilian was chocked full of meat and was really delicious. We also ordered the toasted ravioli and loved them. This is unique pizza for the Quad Cities and it's done very well.
