Service does not get much worse than this. We should have known when we sat down for dinner seeing all the empty tables. The waitress seemed to have difficulty taking our order. We asked for a large salad to split between us and each an entrée. We received two separate large salads with the waitress advising my entrée included a salad. In most other restaurants the server would tell you this while taking the order. If we knew, we would have not ordered the separate salad. She neither offered to take it back or off the bill. My wife's eggplant sandwich was served cold. She asked to have it heated in a microwave and it came back a little less cold. My dish was acceptable, just too much. We twice had to flag down the waitress for service and the check. I made the mistake of not actually looking at the detailed receipt until we returned home and found that they charged us $5.98 for two glasses of water! read more

I have been in the area since Monday, and hands down, this was the best food we had. I was shocked to see a 2.5 rating--I'm guessing the locals don't care for flavor because that's what was missing for me at the 'recommended' local favorites. And just to be clear, service at ALL the establishments we went to was great, but the seasonings were missing or underwhelming. We had the grilled salmon with sautéed spinach in a lemon sauce, and the chicken parmigiana over Angel hair pasta. The serving sizes were big, and the flavoring on both dishes was excellent. Workers are very friendly and accommodating. And the pricing was more than reasonable. Definitely recommend this place if you're a foodie. read more

The pizza was very delicious, prices were quite high. For 3 pepperoni pizzas it was almost $60.00, as soon as I open the boxes all three pies has the cheese completely OFF the pizza. I called them and told the lady who picked up what happen and she told me there was NOTHING she could do. So for $60 I received sauce crust. I am never going back again. But to take our order and money and when we called to follow up before they closed they say the driver in route and no fucking driver shows up, you know this is what has to be done. Came here with a friend of mine today. Had a plain slice, it looked good, came out on a metal pan and was nice and hot. The outside crust was very nicely crispy but the interior (I guess) crust was soggy which I don't particularly care for. They do have a heck of a lot to choose from but I am a plain cheese type of guy. Waitress was incredibly friendly and overall it had a nice ambiance to it. Get the pie a little more crispy and add some salt and pepper to that sauce and your 4+ stars! read more

When we first moved here from Bergen county this was the closest pizza we can find to pizza we have at home. Unfortunately they've progressively gotten worse. We gave them 4 more tries after we got our first soggy pizza. And each time the cheese was sliding off and it was the sloppiest, floppiest pizza we've ever had. Even when we pick it up. The past two times I've had to put it in the oven on broil to try to crisp it up. We stopped ordering through slice because they don't read the requests that state "extra crispy" or "don't ring bell, leave at doorstep" when we were sick or our baby was sleeping. So we have been calling to place orders so we can specify the directions clearly. And we still don't get what we ask for. I think it's time to revisit another pizzeria in vernon and give them a shot. read more

I recently went there on a weekend evening with the Mrs, She ordered chicken parm & liked it & I had Eggplant Rollatini. What I got looked more like Eggplant Parm & in no way resembled Rollatini. Many years ago my Bro owned a similar restaurant. He had a golden rule for his cooks that I recommend for Pizza Station. Each nite pick 1 or 2 of the menu's "dinners" & cook them for the staff to share & critique on how to improve it. Always trying to improve on the top shelf menu items. Owner has to understand, we all get busy, we all have things that go wrong. But to take it out on the customer, and in my case a regular and good one, is not smart. Pulling an attitude when you went beyond a delivery time by 20 minutes is simply not smart. I'm like the nicest guy in the world, but when I finally called for an estimated delivery time and I hear you won't commit, and in the background mouthing off how I can come pick the order up, well, that as I said just was not smart. And, this was the second time you used your driver as an excuse. Basic rules of business. Don't offer what you can not back up, and second, You are not doing me a favor. Stopped by here after skiing at MountainCreek. It's conveniently down the street. Service was slow, but our server was very nice. I have lived here my whole life and the new owners of pizza station are great. they make amazing food, super friendly, and the price of everything is extremely reasonable. I always get the seafood fra diavolo and it comes out amazing each time. my dad got the lazy lasagna and it was a HUGE portion and delicious. my sister always gets the chicken francese and without fail it's great. the pizza is great, huge, and cheap and the strombolis are the best i've ever had. you need to give this place a try. read more

Went in on impulse, wanted to order a few slices. Went in, watched girl and guy behind counter ignore me while they fiddled with paperwork/register. At no time did they even acknowledge my presence with a "hello, we'll be right with you" or "Im sorry but we are busy." Instead, got nothing. My friends and I are in Highland Lake for a weekend trip. We ordered pizza and a Cesar salad from here, delivery estimate was for an hour later, which wasn't a big deal. Then, the pizza was over 20 minutes past that window. The pizza arrived cold. Even worse, they placed the salad in the same bag as the pizza, you know, the bag designed to insulate the pizza and keep the heat in. So the pizza was cold but the salad was warm and soggy. We complained to Slice, and the restaurant offered us $10 off our next pre-paid order. Not really a great offer for someone from out of town, who wouldn't want to order from here again anyway. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is that the pasta sauce had a good flavor that probably would have been delicious if the pizza had arrived even lukewarm. read more

When I called at the 1 1/2 hr. mark to see where my order was, the girl told me I ordered an hour ago and that I was told delivery was an hour minimum. I was told 45 min. to an hour they called me at the 1 hr. 45 minute mark to tell me the driver was lost and knocking on the wrong doors. I will never order from them again. Not the New York style pizza I was craving, but better than Domino's or Pizza Hut any day. Our group of 5 adults and 3 kids took a table in the back and looked over the menu. They offer the traditional toppings like pepperoni and sausage and even try for the gourmet like a white pizza of ricotta and mozzarella. The menu includes salads and the typical Italian entrees like spaghetti and meatballs, manicotti, lasagna, etc. We went simple with an antipasto, a large pepperoni and sausage, and a large onion, olive, pepper, and mushroom. The antipasto was adequate, but needed more of the good stuff like salami and green olives. The pizzas came out piping hot. The crusts were good, but the sauce was lacking flavor and they had a bit too much cheese. The toppings were not very evenly distributed--I had a piece with a stack of 7 slices of pepperoni that weren't even separated. The service was a bit slow at the beginning. There were two girls working the floor and they seemed a bit overwhelmed by the mini rush of 4 new tables all at once. But once they got through that initial hit, they picked it right up and were very attentive. Basically, the food could have been better and the service could have been better. Price wise it was affordable, 5 adults and 3 kids ate for under $55. We didn't stuff ourselves but we didn't walk away hungry either. read more

I love some of the negative reviews here... Blah blah blah. Doug has been making some of the best pizza in NJ for 25+ years. The delivery drivers are usually prompt and the orders are always correct... Even when you ask for substations or place special orders. Jake, the pizza chef, is quick, witty, and makes a fabulous pie. The kitchen manager, Matt, is a little rough around the edges if you're looking for an encounter session with a fuzzy teddy bear- but that's not his job. His job is to run the kitchen. If you want an encounter session, you should be in a bar, not a pizzeria. The counter help is run by the owner's wife- she is a great lady and keeps her staff in line and working hard. The food here has always been above average and the pizza is top notch- crispy-chewy NJ pizza crust with well-made pizza sauce and lots of toppings. Accidents happen and orders get screwed up- that's a fact of life. But at the end of the day- if you want a quick, tasty, meal for a relatively cheap buck- the pizza station is the best around.
