A Great Find! As soon as you walk in you are warmly greeted by Dottie. The restaurant is nice and well decorated. Mike was our server and he was attentive and courteous. I ordered the small calzone and it was huge. It had plenty of filling and the crust was crispy and not chewy. We are from out of town and found this place on Yelp. We are so glad we came here! We came in all scruffy and yucky from a few hours at the beach in July. We were welcomed and had some terrific food and service! They sweetly allowed our girls to have their own table, so that they didn't have to sit at the grown ups table. They served them at their table and treated them with so much kindness. We ordered the garlic knots for an appetizer and we ordered one large pizza with pepperoni and meatballs for all 5 of us. Terrible pizza. Burnt black crust rubbery like the calamari asked for extra cheese on the pizza and did not get. The lasagne tasted bland and the bruschetta was simply soggy pieces of bread on a huge bed of tomatoes. The chicken Parmesan sandwich was the only thing that tasted ok but made my daughter sick afterwards. Vomiting/ and diarrhea. Excellent pizza spot! The food was Great and the staff was even better. My Woman & I ordered an Eggplant Parm sub that was to die for, a delicious Antipasto salad, and a small Stromboli. Our Stromboli was incorrectly made (Honestly I think I ordered it wrong and messed it up on my own), so I called the store and without any hesitation the Lady who I spoke with put in Another correctly made Stromboli for us and had it at our door in under a half hour. Clean restaurant with tall ceilings. Pizza is thin slice with thicker crust. Fast service and food was at table in 10 minutes from order placed. Waitress Carmella was friendly and attended to us numerous times. Pizza was delicious, toppings were fresh. I'd wait a few minutes as the pizza is very hot when arrived at table. Classic yum with quick turnaround time for our order. The only downside might be that the portions are HUGE, which might not be a downside for a hungry soul. I got the spaghetti and meatballs which came with some evil garlic bread rolls and a huge salad and my husband got a calzone with lots of meat. Quality ingredients are evident. After sitting for about ten minutes a young lady came over to get our order and told us about the lunch specials. She said the lunch special was 2 pieces of pizza and a salad and drink for $6. We also ordered calamari and she said she would bring out some garlic knots. We ordered coke and she forgot two of the Cokes and brought our salads out but forget the calamari. After about 30 min out pizza came out and it was good but when we got the bill we noticed it was much more than was told to us. Turns out it was because they charge .40 for each topping and we had ordered several slices of meat lovers. After asking about the charges the young lady apologized and took 10% off which I could have already gotten with my military ID. The staff should be trained to explain how they are charging people and that the lunch is not a set price and we were there for over an hour and it wasn't busy. read more

We just left there and had a terrible experience. I knew going in I wanted them chicken Alfredo. When the waitress brought the menus my dad asked about the specials for the day. I said I wanted the chicken Alfredo which was on the specials. My dad asked how the chicken parm was which she said she liked it. I then asked well what's better the chicken Alfredo or the spaghetti? She said I love the chicken Alfredo and the spaghetti only has one huge meatball. I said yeah I'll take the chicken Alfredo. She then ask what salad dressing we wanted. She then says we get bread also with the specials. Time goes by and she brings out our food but no salads. She puts down my food and says before I even say anything oh you wanted chicken. I said yeah. She leaves the Alfredo and gets them to make chicken. 10 mins go by and she finally brings out the chicken. At this point all the sauce has soaked up in the noodles. I try to eat it but it's just plain grilled chicken and noodles. It wasn't good! Oh also she never refilled our drinks but once we were finished she asks me if I want more dr. pepper, which I'm like no I really just wanna get out of here. She brings the check and ask my dad well how was it? He replies well I'm pretty disappointed since you never brought our salads and you didn't give him chicken. Now this is the part where I get mad because she replies well he should have specifically said I wanted chicken with it. I say um I told you three times I wanted CHICKEN Alfredo. We talked about it and even you said you like their chicken Alfredo. She said oh ok and goes to the back. This is the part where I realize I will never eat here again. She comes back and brings us the check and says well they took 20% off your meal. 20% off!!!! When we didn't even get our salads, refills, and I didn't get what I wanted. I shouldn't have had to pay for my meal. Yes I should have talked to a manager but at this point with the 20% off I'm sure she already talked to the manager. Plus I was so pissed I just wanted to leave. By the way there was only one other table of people there while we were there. They were pretty much finishing eating when we first sat down. So it's not like they were super busy and this happened. Either way no customer should have to pay for their meal when a waitress messes up theirs order. read more

We like the crust at PizzaVola. We were happy to see the online ordering choices included eggplant. We weren't so happy to see a piece of breaded eggplant sliced up on the pizza. If the menu choice had said "breaded eggplant" I would not have ordered that topping. So it's a good idea to change the wording. We were also happy to see the choice for a "Chicago Cut" meaning squares. However, when we picked it up, I said before opening the box....did my wishes come true for a Chicago cut? The pizza prep dude immediately said NO....huh?...why offer that choice and then not satisfy the customer wish? To top it all off, he quickly added that whoops he put pepperoni instead of sausage. Actually, this is the 2nd time the meat choice was not correct. He offered to remake the pizza but who wants to sit around waiting 20 minutes? We took it home and ate it but I'll think again about going back. With so many choices for pizza, why be disappointed? read more
