Very disappointed in the pizza at The Pizzeria on Fourth Ave. In my hey day it used to be known as the best pizza place in Cory. I used to come home from where I was attending college in Pittsburgh in the 70's and look forward to it. I recently asked a friend I had graduated from high school with where I could get good pizza in Cory nowadays, and she recommended them, so I was looking forward to it, and called and ordered a couple of slices of pepperoni pizza tonight, and even stopped at Grogan's to get some beer to compliment the event. It was flat. The sauce had no flavor, there was one piece of pepperoni on top, and it wasn't even hot. I was shocked at the poor presentation. Nothing like the old days. I was sorry and sad to see this. I can no longer recommend them in good faith, sorry to say! read more

This place is a hidden Gem in Coraopolis. I love the traditional recipe that is absolutely delicious and always piping hot.

This past week I returned to Pizzeria for the first time since the late-1980s. It was just as great as I remembered, and the owner was super-nice. Now whoever Owns what was the Only place we would go for pizza, only has it Open Fri & Sat and the rest of the time you can get it a few select Grocery store in the surrounding area. We ordered a 16 sq Sausage, Pepperoni & Bacon (with Anchovies on the side) Pizza. As the pizza cooked in the original 1950s ovens, the owner of 28 years told us great stories and history of the area. He could not have been nicer. The crust & sauce are homemade right there in the shop. It's the original recipe for both from the 1950s. I highly recommend this place - you can even get it un-baked so you can freeze and cook later or take it home and heat for that evenings dinner. read more

I have eaten pizza all over America - from New York thin to Chicago deep dish. This little place in Coraopolis remains my favorite of them all. The crust is just thick enough to get crisp with a bit of chew left and the toppings are high quality. (Ricci's hot sausage is without equal!) Yes, the cash only thing is a pain in the ass. The owner's overt religious decorating is somewhat unsettling. Yes, its all to go. Definitely call ahead, as it takes about 20 minutes to make and there really isn't any place to wait. These are all minor inconveniences. Stop by and order a few slices unbaked with hot sausage and extra sauce. Take them home and bake at 450 for about 8 - 10 minutes. Then open a good beer, sit down and enjoy a superior pizza experience. read more

Lousy no taste pizza. Ordered 12 Sicilian slices. In my book Sicilian is thick slices. This pizza was thin as could be. What a huge disappointment. They have all these articles bragging about their secret recipe hanging on the walls. They can keep that receipt. Inside definitely needs updating. Lots of religious pictures hanging up. read more

I grew up here Coraopolis/Moon - don't live here anymore but my family does. Hands down the best pizza around - ingredients, crust, sauce- wow amazing. Always good but tonight I had pep sausage xtra sauce and cheese and I could not stop eating it! The Ricci's hot sausage was amazing as the sauce was the perfect balance with pepperoni and cheese yum. The crust was light and was balanced to hold the ingredients. Came semi crispy, so I did heat it a touch but that could go either way to your liking. I understand they do unbaked so that's up to you as well - and have subs. Looking forward to trying that as well taking home unbaked to Idaho. If I could eat more I would. I'm taking the whole shop back to Idaho - it's that's good. I also have to say I have read a lot about Ambridge Franks and the police station hype but gotta say this is the best. Kinda funny if you could mix all three it would be the best in the world. Give this place a try right off the Neville Island bridge a block and a half further than Montour Street on your way home and you will not be disappointed. read more

Good pizza and a Cory institution, but know the drill before you go in...the owner is not patient with the uninitiated. First, cash only. Second, be prepared when they ask you 'cooked or uncooked?'. Wuh? Yup. This took me a few moments to clarify, but it seems that some folks get the pizza to cook later at home. The pre-baked shells make this possible. Fresh dough wouldn't work so well in this regard. Finally, there is no medium or large, don't even ask, you'll get a lecture...it's the number of squares. 12 puts you in the large ballpark with 15 approximating an extra large. Good pizza and definitely an institution here. read more

I've bought pizza here for over 50 years, a Coraopolis landmark. While not as good as that produced by the original Mrs Rossi, the pizza is pretty good, a 4 star. Successive owners retained the original square Sicilian, but thinner and with less sauce. Still the best pizza available in Town. My recent experience has forced me to stop patronizing the shop. Upon entering the shop to pick up my order, I was greeted by an old man teetering on a folding chair. He told me " You don't need that mask in here, I don't believe in them". During COVID 19 I have followed all recommendations and I m happy to do my part for society by wearing a mask. I told him I'd keep it on. He apparently sees this as political rather than public health and groused about my response. Apparently he's an owner, at least the girls on the counter, in masks, deferred to him. I took my pizza and left, but I won't return. Today my son in law had a similar experience. They should be careful before they drive more customers away. read more
