16 cut with sweet peppers and hot sausage

Amazing authentic pizza...homemade everything...so light & airy...sweet peppers and hot sausage are my go to toppings...they haven't been in business over 50 years for nothing!!

Was really eager to try this place, but overall I thought it was just OK. Very plain and basic.

Since 1959 ..

Idk since 1959..everyone says it the best etc..I' think it's the worst!!very bland sauce and hardly any cheese crust was terrible too..I'm sorry wasn't a fan

Half baked pizza! (Before finishing the baking)

After hearing about this place for a while now, I made a trip out to pick up a pizza for the Steeler game. It's a very small place and if you blink, you'll miss it. I love shops like that though! I didn't plan on eating the pizza right away, so I ordered my pizza half baked. All I had to do is heat the pizza for an additional 10-20 minutes whenever we were ready to eat it, which worked out perfectly! I think they take a lot of phone orders, but I had no problem walking in and ordering a pizza. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. This place is cash only so be prepared for that. But yeah, the pizza was so good. I'll definitely be back to order again!

Love this old school place. I always buy a whole tray, half baked. It freezes well, and I can have 2 squares whenever I want.

Overhyped pizza. The crust was soggy. Wasn't a fan of canned mushrooms which we felt contributed to the sogginess of the crust.

The best mushrooms anywhere there are big and not shaved little pieces like other pizza places.

For toppings the hot sausage is excellent and ordering extra cheese may be considered overkill to some.

Since I now live on the other side of town I decided to try my local franchise. I rolled in and was the only customer. This isn't unusual since it was the day before the Super Bowl and most pizza is delivery rather than eat in. I was attended to quickly and friendly. I had intended on just getting a pizza, but after seeing some notes about their subs, I decided to try one of those as well. I have to admit that I'm not big on reviewing standard subs. Most of those subs aren't made in house, they are just assembled there. I owned a deli at one time and we cooked our own meats and sliced them fresh. Today, most places use pre packaged meats, and their only skill is in layering items in a specific order. Some places don't make their own bread, dressings or even slice their own vegetables. As a result, I order items that I feel are or should be made in house, such as sausage and meatballs. The place itself was warm enough, and I liked the open feel with the front garage door open. There were 2 televisions on different channels and the place seemed clean. A few places were a bit disorganized, but not excessively so. I didn't have to wait long for my whole meatball sub and pizza with mushrooms and sausage. I decided to wait until I got home to enjoy them. I shared my sub with my son He noted that the sauce was, in his words, tangy, which seemed a little strange to me. I didn't notice that in my half, but I ate mine pretty quickly and didn't pay as much attention as I normally would. I did note that the meatballs were cut in half or more, so that they covered the entire surface of the bread. The flavor was pretty standard, but I didn't notice or taste any cheese. Overall, it was just another sandwich. The pizza was another story. I noted from the 1st bite that there seemed to be a sharp sour aftertaste to the sauce. I ate several pieces, and couldn't put my finger on the unusual taste. I wasn't sure if it was a spice I was unfamiliar with or something else.Later, I would come to regret not paying closer attention. I spent the majority of the next 2 days in the bathroom. The intestinal distress I experienced was not at all pleasant. Since this was the only food I ate in that 24 hour period, I can't address the cause to anything else. The sauce was spoiled or just on the verge of going bad. I have a pretty strong stomach, so this food affecting me this severely is very unusual. Before the food hit my system, I felt like everything was good. The prices seemed reasonable, the service good and I left a pretty decent tip for someone that just handed me a box. None of that can make up for food that gets you sick. I can't say I'll never go back, but yes, probably never. One of those times I wished we could do a 0 star rating.

My default when I don't feel like being disappointed…read more @thepubat333 is that easy "let's just go to..." and no one argues it because it just...works. There's enough going on menu-wise that everyone figures it out, and I'm not exaggerating-every single time I've been there since they opened, someone at the table orders a French dip. Every. time. It's basically part of the experience now. Also if I see pierogi, I'm ordering pierogi. That's just who I am. Could've taken down the entire plate without blinking but I shared like a respectable adult (meanwhile mentally tracking which ones were supposed to be mine). It's just a laid back, neighborhood spot that doesn't try to be anything crazy and still ends up being exactly what you wanted. Fun fact: my friend and I once prank called from their landline, the owner immediately called back, we answered like nothing happened, and yeah...the phone was no longer an option for us after that

Bar seating was almost full with only a couple seats. Heard good things about their pizza too. There's free parking in the lot (although small). Shout out to our bartender Ange! The black and bleu shrimp was absolutely amazing. It's got blackened spice and has this creamy sauce that makes you go dip for more (I need that recipe honestly). If I had some bread, I'd definitely use this as a dip lol. We got the thin crust Sicilian pizza to share. The pizza unfortunately was very wet and kind of soggy. I think they could have waited to let it rest for a few min before serving because it would especially show when we were separate the slices and try to take one off the plate. I don't usually want my toppings and cheese to just slide off the pizza. Also since we were at a bar w/ some of the games going on, we wanted wings and got their crispy whole wings in a dry spice rub. They were pretty big wings and well seasoned -- not too spicy though if that's not your vibe.

We walked in at 8:15 p.m., completely unaware they closed at 9:00 p.m. There were only two tables occupied, so I immediately had that "uh-oh, we're those people" feeling. Thankfully, the staff couldn't have been nicer. We never felt rushed, and the service was wonderful from start to finish. This is a BYOB spot, and trust me....you should come hungry. We started with the stuffed peppers. One was spicy, one wasn't. Was it a culinary surprise? A pepper lottery? I'll never know, but both were delicious. I ordered the chicken Parmesan with rigatoni, and my husband got the spinach-stuffed shells with meatballs. When the plates arrived, I briefly wondered if they had mistaken us for a family of four. The portions were huge. We ate until surrender and still had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. On our way out, we couldn't resist grabbing dessert from the cooler: limoncello cake and tiramisu. Because after consuming enough pasta to fuel a small village, dessert seemed like the responsible thing to do. We made it out by 9:00 p.m., and the staff remained friendly right up until closing time. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and prices that won't make you cry into your cannoli. We'll definitely be back--just next time we'll arrive a little earlier and wear our stretchy pants.
