I love coming here... I am from Chicago- and the place is verrry casual and family like. * Big portions and friendly service keep me coming back in this quant little Italian gem. I am a salad lover; my first time I was happy to order a great sized salad with all of my favorite vegetables. After learning about how large the menu was, I had to come back a second time to experience the homemade pasta. It brought me back to my childhood, that sauce you just never forget. When I say I have never written a review before.. this is my first, however I'm disgusted with the management. Today I called to place a pickup order & was told I had to pay beforehand due to me not picking up an order bc of a prior emergency, which I was aware of but thought it was off my account since I had made several delivery orders since. He said it wasn't and I asked if that could be taken off my account after this and I could explain the situation. Yes, I was a little frustrated but definitely not yelling or being disrespectful AT ALL. I call back and I try to switch my pickup to a delievry because at this point I'm home now and I get some pushback so I said omg ok just make it pickup, again a little frustration in my tone but nothing disrespectful, and the owner huffs and puffs and goes "if there's a problem then what are we doing here, you were just screaming at my driver".... I was so taken aback, like I just want my salad dude. He felt ready to attack me and that was just already weird but then I asked if I could explain and I was met with COMPLETE DISREGARD over a very serious situation and he was just yelling over me about losing money... Now Im a children's social worker, and obviously things happen. I called to order my dinner and as I'm walking out of my visit to leave one kid falls and completely bashes his head in and it's just gushing blood, now I have to rush a bleeding out 4 year old to the hospital WITH 2 OTHER children under 5. I had a bleeding out kid and 2 other screaming kids the LAST thing I was worried about was my salad. A SALAD. They genuinely were so upset they lost out on $10 when a child's life was literally hanging by a thread. His excuse was they tried to call me and I didn't answer........ anyone looking at their phone during that or thinking about anything other than the child is sick. When I FINALLY got on my phone I noticed 2 missed calls from them and I immediately called to apologize and I just said there was an accident and I didn't go into detail but she said I would have to prepay next time and I said no big deal I totally understand. I have lived near there for 4 years and been a loyal customer with probably 50+ orders. Even though the food in itself is insanely mediocre. I love to support local businesses but this was a completely unjustified response on there part and I just have no room for the attitude and that lack of understanding for a child's life over a salad... I will never eat there again but I'm not missing out I'll make my salad at home from now on. read more

We were flying home the evening we went. After a week of eating out, we wanted some pizza and the chain restaurants just wouldn't cut it. We found this place and it definitely fit the bill. The pizza was delicious, the hoagie was divine and truly what I remember from growing up in western PA and there wasn't a crumb left behind. It was as if we were sitting at the family table. Ordered a 5-piece wing with hot garlic sauce (recommended by one of the servers.) Was excellent! Great flavor and a nice bit of kick. Really delicious. My main was the Inferno Steak Hoagie. Truly one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life! I first tried this place not long after they first opened maybe 20 or so years ago. I remembered their "steak lovers" pizza so I decided to try it again, and was just as awesome as I remembered. The edge of the crust has a unique "crackle" to it that's really good. When visiting Pittsburgh, I asked my cousin to take us to the best Italian joint they knew. Although this place is just outside of Pittsburgh, it's 100% worth the drive if You are visiting the area. If you live close, why haven't you been eating here already? This place needs so many more reviews! This is the best, hands down, spaghetti and meatballs I have ever ate at a restaurant. It's not something I usually order, because let's face it, nothing is better then my moms. However, this was amazing! Throw on an a sausage too! It comes with a huge fresh, crispy salad and the ranch and croutons are sooooo good! Also a huge side of garlic bread. I gladly packed up half of my food after I was stuffed and drove it Home to Lexington so I can have it deconstructed to recreate at home. Award winning here! Cannot wait To come back! I am familiar with the distance and usually pop it in the oven but it was warm and smelled so good I couldn't wait. They load on the toppings and I love that they include hot peppers. Oh, my! I can't post a picture because that pizza is GONE. We ordered it and got it hot & fresh in under 30 minutes (we live very close by). It smelled amazing, but tasted even better. We got a steak lover's pizza, and swear by heaven above that they used REAL butter and fresh mushrooms. The crust was made with fresh dough and baked to toothsome perfection, with just some nice browning but no black (burnt) spots. It wasn't soupy/doughy/wet in the center like some places make, despite there being plenty of topping. All the veggies (mushrooms, onions, green peppers) had been pre sautéed so the flavor was mellow. We moved to Pgh area in 2018 from Philadelphia; this was hands down the best pizza I have had since moving here. It's possibly the best I've had since we visited Tuscany in 2010. A couple weeks ago, with visiting family in town, I looked for a restaurant that was open on a Monday night and would appeal to everyone. Anthony Jr's did not let us down. It was not my first visit, and I've never been disappointed. The food was particularly good on our recent visit. I had the chicken Parmesan special, and it was just about perfect. We also had garlic bread and stuffed banana peppers, both of which were very good. Service was great and the old-school atmosphere was just what we were looking for. This is NOT the place I remember. Wow, how are they even still in business?? It has gone down hill considerably in every way imaginable. The service was so bad that I am not sure I can find the words to describe it without using vulgarity. Hey if I did that at least I would be on par with the attitude of the employees. Was in Pittsburgh for the Phillies-Pirates series and found this gem! About a 20 minute ride from our hotel. Excellent Italian food and pizza. We usually try to find a "mom and pop" restaurant and this place did not disappoint. Service was excellent as well. We took my mother in law there for Mother's Day. We started with 2 appetizers, and then we each ordered lasagna for our main entrees. The food was excellent. Service was decent. We ordered tiramisu for dessert, which we planned on taking home. While it was very good, the serving was tiny. If I'm paying 8.99 for a dessert, I expect more than a sliver. We also noticed there is a credit card charge on the bill. It is a shame that after spending $130, we are still charged this fee. I think it's one of the best pizza shops in town. You can dine inside or get to go. There's tables and bar seating. The pasta portions are pretty big I say! There's a variety of different foods on the menu. The pizza is what I usually get there. The service seems good so far. The waitress I had was friendly for the one time I dined in. Today, after calling and speaking to "a "server" who couldn't understand how to adjust our over charged bill and account for our missing items, I was transferred to "John" who said he is the owners son. "John" was extremely rude, over talked me, denied we were missing the items (said he made it & packed it himself) for what we ordered and were charged. Upon 4 requests asking for his first name and last name initial, he refused to provide me the 1st initial to his last name and refused to give us the $5.00 credit we are owed for there mistake. We normally go there and eat in and never had any issues with the food, service or quality of the food however this is our 3rd time ordering take out in the last month (we picked up each time) for all three orders & there has been something wrong/something missing or we've been over charged in error! For the record, we have been eating there since 2003! Dine in only until this last month. I didn't even have a chance to mention that the French fries on the salad and the ones on the side for the wrap were BURNT and not Ediable (photos have been taken as proof) Warning: do not order take out or dare to call about your food or you will be mistreated, disrespected and no regards for your questions/concerns. We didn't call and complain about the first 2 take-out orders because we just thought they must have been busy or it was a genuine mistake but today, this 3rd time was enough and I had to call about it. Horrible customer service. Seems like they're kind to the locals but rude to visitors. I had two different rude instances with two different workers here, the first being an unwelcoming vibe the entire time, and didn't serve our food until we asked how long the wait would be, then our food happened to be ready. That happens. The second instance was when I walked back in an hour later (I was at this establishments event room for a family event) to ask for a cup of water. I would've bought one if possible. After going back and forth, the man told me they "don't just give away free water", since I didn't have an order of food with the water, and told me to have a great day while he walked back to the kitchen. Seriously disgusting customer service, and I'll be making sure absolutely none of us return. If you enjoy spending time in a welcoming establishment to eat lunch with your family, avoid this place! Husband and I ate here for the first time tonight, what a swell family restaurant. Dine in and take out were both busy, so it was easy to see this restaurant is favorite in Cory. Waitstaff were working hard, they said they had a server call in. Lots of families dining in, and tons of pizzas being picked up. *Loved the prices * a glass of wine was less than $3, so was my husbands 20 oz IPA. The food was good - the salads were big though the house Italian dressing did not seem homemade. Garlic bread was fine. But our entree, OMG. Stuffed banana peppers on a bed of spaghetti. DELISH. We've done carryout once and delivery tonight - pizza is solid here both times. When we did carryout, it wasn't all that hot when we got it home. Don't know how long it was sitting there before we picked it up. Still tasted great, but could have been much better right out of the oven. I was willing to give them another shot and we did delivery tonight. And my whole family was so glad that we gave them another chance! Pizza was even better this time with the pizza relatively piping hot from the delivery guy bringing it to our house. This time, I also ordered a steak calzone. This thing is ENORMOUS! It was in a pizza box and my wife thought they accidentally gave us another pizza instead of the calzone. But no, it's a calzone the size of a pizza. For $12, it's a great deal and it can feed 2-3 people very easily. Steak calzone includes hot peppers, thin steak, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. This is a typical family Italian/pizzeria type place. The menu features a variety of pizza and pasta options along with sandwiches and fried appetizers. Because of the fairly large menu, it is a great place to take a larger group or picky eaters. The interior is a bit cheesy but yet typical of this type of establishment. I've been here twice. Once I ordered a pasta dish. The pasta bolognese tasted fine but was not what most places would consider a bolognese. My husband had the lasagna and really enjoyed it. On another visit we had sandwiches which were decent but nothing memorable. The wait times did seem to be long compared to the number of people actually in the restaurant. They also seem to get a bit flustered when there is a large group even when they knew to expect the large group. Overall a decent dining experience, especially when there isn't a lot of other options in the immediate vicinity. read more
