Our waitress (Jackie) was attentive, professional, down-to-earth with a sweet personality. Likewise, when we met the owner. Here's the best part, the food/service! Our meal started with Joe's salad and garlic bread! OMG, we were doing the happy dance before we even received our entrees. My wife loved her chicken parm (& sangria) and I loved my 16 inch White pizza and sweet tea (made by someone who knows how to sweeten tea)! I was only able to eat 3 slices, taking a bunch home. I'm looking forward to indulging again on the leftovers tomorrow.

In evaluating every Italian restaurant, the three best indicators to try (my 1st time) is 1) veal parmigiana 2) an eggplant dish and 3) a pasta with homemade sauce. The recommended drink was their homemade sangria. It was ok. Not exciting, not overly fruity (1orange slice on the cup lip) and not sweet (that was a plus). Only Budweiser product on draft. What no IPA? Only in the bottle. For our dinner entre I had the 'cut with a fork' veal. It required a knife. Not the best. The tomato sauce was average but overly salted. It was served delightfully hot. The fettuccine side was excellent and enjoyed. My serving was appropriate and good sized. My wife ordered an egg drop soup, strattoria, that we shared. Ok but not memorable. Her mussels were served in a recommended red sauce. This was too salty. Our excellent waitress Theresa wanted to please her and brought a new order. WOW . . .This tomato sauce was 5-star. The absolute BEST. Initially after placing our order Theresa brought a gratis appetizer of garlic bread which was tasty and hot. We finished it. In summary- ambiance & service were tops. The drink soso. The original tomato sauce was marginal, but improved greatly on the reorder. For this night out our billing was over $60 + tip. That's on the high side of our eating out budget. Although a very popular neighborhood eatery, I voice concerns to them about OVER salting. That is a poison and a common solution to mask flavors. Mix of 5s and 3s. We will return for a 2nd opinion.

Jude had a turkey (so-so) sandwich and I had veal Marsala. It was in a rich dark gravy (too sweet) that whispered Marsala while i was hoping it would be savory and earthy. When reducing the dry Marsala wine the flavor is enhanced. This wasn't. The button mushrooms were saute'd but not enough of them. From the time of placing our order with Dawn (our server) & her delivering it piping hot- it was about 6-7 minutes. Record time in my experience. The spaghetti was already infused with the gravy. I like my spaghetti with butter not gravy. Missing were the shallots and parsley. Dawn was attentive and delivered recommendations and good service. Thanks.
