A hidden gem aqay from all the heckling people

The service here was pretty good. They speak pretty good English and are patient enough to answer any questions you might have about the menu. I was really hyped about this place because it's probably one of the only few restaurants that doesn't have servers shoving menus in your face followed by "Nihaos" and "Koniciwas" (a classic trick in the book). The pizza tasted just like one of those mini Digiorno microwavables you can get at a grocery store with some fancier toppings. The pizza was very dense and disappointing for what it cost (10 euros for one) and considering the fact that it was Italy. It's a not bad of a place to go for late night munchies, just doesn't taste that great.

I've tasted some awful pizza in my life, but to have a disgusting pizza in Rome is incredibly disappointing. This is the city of pasta and pizza for crying out load! We got to our hotel around the corner past 11pm from the airport. Tired and hungry, we went to the only place that was still open, purchases three pizzas to go. When we got back and opened the box, our jaws were hanging open. What in the effing world. The pizzas looked awful. They tasted below average. This restaurant wouldn't even use fresh mushrooms and way over salted everything. I wanted to cry because it was so awful. I definitely would not have gone here if we had any other hot food option. Just awful!!

We had to visit the restaurant based on the tripadvisor reviews and photos. We must say that it was an amazing experience and this place deserves much more than 5 stars if possible. We ate here twice during our visit to Rome and we were not disappointed both visits LOCATION The restaurant is located all the way at the end of Via Genova. Its a dead end and you cant miss it. There is seating both inside and outside. We sat outside during both visits. SERVICE The service was excellent. The waiters served our food promptly, They came and checked on us during our meal and we were never hurried or rushed out. They really wanted us to enjoy the experience. FOOD The food was amazing. We tried to order different things with each visit. We tried an appetizer, suppli, pasta, two different pizzas, and their house wine. Everything was delicious. We could not find anything wrong with this place. PRICE After visiting several restaurants during our trip to Rome, I found that this restaurant is a great value for the amount of food you get. Each visit we ordered two meals, wine, and one dessert. The cost of each visit was less than $40 euros. Depending on what you order, expect to pay between $40-$50 Euros. This included a voluntary tip. We voluntarily gave tips depending on our experience. PAYING Both times, we asked for the bill, we take the bill inside to a cashier. She rings us up and we pay. If you want to tip, hand the tip to your waiter. It a bit different here how that works. TIPS The have a restroom. They open at 7:00p, but you may get in as early as 6:30p. For outside seating, arrive no later than 8:00pm. They fill up quickly.

    Marinara pizza!!!which was very good

This place has great food. It's not a place to go to if you want seafood, chicken, meats....it has pizzas, pastas, antipastas, desserts. And it's very inexpensive. We went for dinner. The place was packed. It's on a dead end street. We ordered a half liter of wine, a bottle of water, a crostini stater (which was HUGE), a pizza and a pasta entree (which were both great), and a side of sauté spinach! Our bill........36.50 euro!!!! Order their house specialty pasta....it's phenomenal! Again, a good tasting, inexpensive restaurant with a very homey feeling.

    Looks good. Tasted average.

Great food, great service. The food was fresh, and sauce was the best! I will definitely go back.

Food was good but stay away from the house wines, red and white tasted odd and watered down. The prices here are great!

A jazz club for American tourists…read more Okay, there was one Australian lady and a few Chinese. Everyone else was American. Prices are sky-high because this is a soak the tourist situation. Alexanderplatz which is the premiere jazz club in Rome charges $18 euros for a month membership - no cover after that - and $12 per drink. So once you have paid your monthly cover charge, you can hear all the jazz you want for free - or if need be for $12 euros a drink At Alexanderplatz, the performances are legendary with some of the most innovative and technically amazing musicians in Rome. We dropped over $150 euros at Gregory's. We got a perfectly reasonable yeoman guitarist. But nothing like the artistic lions that routinely perform over at Alexanderplatz. Now to be fair, we had dinner at Gregory's and we never eat at Alexanderplatz. The standard "sushi dinner" was perfectly reasonable yeoman sushi. There was so little of it that we both had to order a la carte dishes afterwards. The extra extras seriously expanded the final tab. * * * One argument in Gregory's favor: their bar is extraordinary. The bar at Alexanderplatz is mediocre. Gregory's charges top dollar for its bar offerings, but what they mix and what is in their bottles is worth every single euro they ask for. I would be perfectly happy to just go to the bar, and order a few premium beverages. I would hear my wallet cry. But I would know that I was drinking supremely well in return for my investment. Fortunately, the bar is downstairs from the club. I would not have to put up with the shenanigans in the club. * * * The problem with the club is the crowd. At most, one third of the customers are actually there to listen to jazz. The room is filled with tourists taking selfies. There are also hot-daters playing snuggle-buns. Many of them will leave mid-set so they can go back to the hotel. Gregory's is less about the music and more about selling happy memories of Rome. * * * Alexanderplatz gets a mostly Italian crowd. You are looking as musicians, music critics, academics, and all purpose artsy types - as well as normal Italian human beings who just want to hear fine music. The music is taken very very seriously. Yeah, there are usually two or three tables with good time Charlies who are doing the phone recording, party hearty thing. But this is 8% of the audience at Alexanderplatz as opposed to 70% of the audience at Gregory's. To be fair to the crowd at Gregory's, the music at Alexanderplatz is simply better. The jazz at Alexanderplatz is capable of transfixing even philistines with tin ears. Gregory's jazz doesn't put that much on the table. But the crowd at Alexanderplatz sets me up for listening to mystic, complex music with the highest level of attention and aesthetic receptiveness. The crowd at Gregory's just gets me irritated. * * * If you are in Rome with a hot date, go to Gregory's. Be prepared to shell out the bucks. * * * If you are in Rome with someone who can truly appreciate once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, take them to Alexanderplatz. After you talk about the music for half an hour after the concert, You can still go back to the hotel. Just figure that the hotel will be the second best part of the night.

I ordered a split of Bolero even though it's hot, I wanted it with my gnocchi with black truffles. The gnocchi and the wine were both delicious. I also had ordered a salad to start. When they brought out my salad, it was huge and I remarked about how big it was and he said oh would you like a smaller one and I said, yes please. I hadn't even touched the bowl. A few minutes later, he brought a much smaller much better sized bowl filled with crunchy radicchio, carrots, arugula, and other nice veggies. I was grateful because I couldn't even finish that one. There's no way I could've done the large one. The service was excellent. They were very kind and courteous, and went out of their way to be helpful more than once . As I was leaving it was pouring rain. My waiter didn't want me to go out into the rain without an umbrella and I said I was fine and I laughed that I wasn't made of sugar, most could attest to that. He smiled and said just a minute and he went back somewhere towards the kitchen and dug around and came back out with an umbrella. Talk about customer service so I had a lovely lovely walk back home in the rain it's been very hot here so it felt delightful. I returned the umbrella yesterday evening. I will happily go back there again before I leave.
