My pizza tasted great, and I absolutely love how you can order as much or little of each type of pizza as you want. The pizza wasn't the best I had in Rome, and I wouldn't go super out of my way to eat here again, but I would recommend if you're nearby and craving pizza. read more

This was my first meal in Rome, and I really wasn't impressed. We grabbed a slice for lunch, technically our breakfast. It was good but the cheese wasn't cooked enough for me. I took a bite and it wouldn't come apart. it wasn't warm enough either. To finish my slice i had to take off the cheese and eat just the bread and sauce. When we walked in there were a couple people ahead of us so we had a small chance to look around. It's a really small place. They have the counter and a door and that's about it. Don't let the dollar slice vibes of the shop scare you off -- I had pizza every day I was in Rome for a week and this was in my top two. I got a reasonable lunch portion for two for six euros and I was really pleased. It's also near the cat sanctuary, so you can take your pizza to go and sit and watch. Drinks & dessert pizza would add about $2 for drinks & $4 for nutella pizza for two. They do have Wi-Fi. The lines can be out the door. I am a bit of an Italian food snob, and though the pizza isn't traditional Italian style crust that I'm used to, it's the best pizza I've had in Pisa, Venice, Florence or Rome this trip. This was the first meal we had upon arriving in Rome. Our party included 3 adults and 3 children and we were all hungry and jet lagged. What a fun little pizza place this was. All the choices are in rectangular sheets behind glass and they cut pieces off, with scissors, as you order. It's priced by weight! I had to stop my children from ordering everything. They have bottles of wine, beer and sodas and if the weather permits it's best to take it all outside and sit on a bench and eat. It's a shame we had to part. Pizza Florida in a word is amazing. If you're in Rome and you didn't eat here, I would highly recommend you fly back. We had all sorts of different pizza that included toppings such as buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, porcini mushrooms, Philadelphia, rocket, bacon, truffle cream, smoked cheese and sausage. You soon come to realise that truffle is everywhere in Italy and it's so damn good! Get it every time! The base and the toppings are delicious. Coming from Australia, we haven't experienced food that has tasted so authentic and rustic before. Something is different, it's quality, it's love, I don't know, but it's the real deal. It's different to the pizza we had in Naples (where pizza is king), Florence and Venice, it has a thicker base, but it ranks in as the second best place in Italy that we had pizza in and the best pizza we had in Rome. Let's write about the price. You can eat for under €2 a slice (you pay by the weight of the pizza) and €1 for a drink. This is insanely good value. If you're coming from Melbourne, like we did, you wouldn't want to come back to Melbourne. Enjoy every moment you have here because if you're not a local, you won't see quality food with a price tag like this ever again. It's terribly disappointing. Take a whole box of pizza with you and take in the smell, there's a gaping hole inside of us because we couldn't bring this gem back home. Pizzeria Florida is located across the Largo di Torre Argentina, or the cat sanctuary. A small shop with only one sign so it may be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The service is fast and cheerful. The pizza is all laid out and served by the slice and priced by weight. Once you order and get the tab they will happily warm it up for you and either pack it in a box to go or give you a plate. The pizza it self is very tasty ranking about 4/5. Not the best I've ever had but pretty darn good. The staff understands English and of course Italian. read more

Stopped in at this place with a small private walking tour. The lunch rush was on and it was a packed house, but the line moved quickly and we soon had our pizza! The server asked if the size of the sausage - peppers slice she was cutting was good. Not knowing exactly what was going on, I said yes. The slice was then put on a scale to be weighed and then charged by weight for the slice. I now understood the question and did not realize the price is based on the exact size of the slice. Cool! Stopped in this place for dinner as we were needing a break from eating pasta every night and wanted to try some more pizza. Unfortunately, we must have stumbled in a little later than the typical rush, as the variety seemed somewhat lacking - or maybe they tend to have pretty normal combinations. But we tried a bufffalo mozzarella, mushroom and sausage and a slice of spicy tomato. The mozzarella was very delicious, large pieces scattered, around, crust was super crispy. Needed a little more salt. The mushroom and sausage was good, but nothing to write home about. The spicy tomato was my least favorite, the spice was so overwhelming that I couldn't taste anything after eating it. So why the 4 stars? The crust is so delicious, very crispy, nothing like you get in the states. The price is so cheap, we spent 6€ for 2 medium slices, 1 small, and a coke - I doubt you can beat that anywhere in the city. The lady behind the counter was patient while we took our time ordering. So overall, I'd say not worth it to go out of your way, but a cheap eat if you're in the area or struggling to find a lighter dinner after the gluttony that is vacation in italy. read more

So remember to take a number (like a deli) or you will be ignored and by passed by locals. The crust was definitely super delicious but overall the pizza didn't blow me away. My favorite was the tuna one. We ordered two diet cokes and there was a bunch of gunk on the top of the can so ended up not drinking it, so make sure to ask for a straw. Point at what pizza you want-and believe me when I tell you this the only chore about this experience-after you decide what delicious fresh pizza looks tastiest. Then order. Pros: -The best pizza I've ever had. Ever. It's like focaccia bread pizza. The bottom is light and crispy, but the dough is airy and just a little chewy. There's hardly any sauce, probably because it doesn't need any. Our favorite was the mushroom-sausage. The only sauce it had was olive oil and sea salt. My second favorite was the eggplant with red sauce. The pizza was so good that we had here twice during our visit, and I was too impatient and didn't take any pics. It tasted so simple and fresh. Very fresh. -You order by weight. They'll ask if you want small or large slices, then they weigh it. We probably got a medium pizza for around 10 euros. -Friendly! Cons: -Not much seating.
