This place was just a few minutes away from our hotel and it was so delicious! The spaghetti with clams were very aromatic and the seeds in the tomatoes gave the dish a complex flavor profile, adding a tinge of tanginess. The Sfravecatura pizza had a great balance of the provolone cheese, meatballs, tomato sauce, and eggplant parmigiana. The basil sauce added a nice light touch to it as well! I also ordered the Virgin Sex On The Beach mocktail, which was really sweet and fruity, and I loved how rich and sweet the cherry and orange slice was as well. The tiramisu was delightful! There was a hint of rum with the espresso but it wasn't overpowering, which was great because I tend to find tiramisus with too much alcohol too bitter. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant!

Best pizza I had in Italy! We got the margarita and it was delicious!!! Omg the bread was so chewy and soft. So good. And the cheese was soooooo good!!! Nomnom! We also got wine. They have these selections of wine where they pour into a giant glass container and it cheaper than a bottle. Our server couldn't really explain it... Like whether or not they open a bottle or transfer from a huge giant wine bottle etc... But it was delicious and cheap. We got a white wine which went super well with our pizza. I don't see myself coming back to Naples but if I'm ever there again I would eat here again! PS. This place is really close to train station!

10/25/2013 My husband and I traveled through Naples (from Rome) via a high-speed rail service (we got Business Class seats! woot!). ..we were on our way to Amalfi Coast for a one-day excursion! Our driver dropped us off at this restaurant on our way back to Rome (from Naples train station) so that we could get some authentic Naples pizza, straight from Naples! :) To our delight, the restaurant was relatively affordable and offered to-go boxes, so we could take our pizzas with us to the train station to catch our train. It was a surprise to me that the pizza would be so big, especially since it's a personal size pizza too. We ordered: (1) Margherita - typical marghertia style pizza, cooked in a coal-fired oven, thin crust and absolutely yummy! mozzarella and basil over tomato sauce (2) Quattro Stagioni - a pizza that's separated into 4 sections, with 4 different toppings in each quarter of the pizza. 1st section was just mushroom, 2nd section was seafood, 3rd section was 4 cheeses, 4th section was ham & artichoke Free wi-fi available at the restaurant too, which is a bonus. Friendly and accomodating! Tip: To-go prices are 1 euro less than if you were to eat-in!

    Marg with buffalo

I was only in Naples for a hot minute and had to catch the bullet train to Rome but, wanted to stop at one pizza spot before leaving town. Pizzeria Franco is conveniently located across the street from the main train station, had great Yelp reviews and is well known within Naples so, I figured what the heck. The baseline for a great pizza place is the margarita or mozzarella pizza (depending where you are in the world). That said, I ordered the special marg with buffalo mozzarella and it was pretty damn tasty! The crust was beautifully Napoletana, the tomato perfectly acidic and cheese lent a nice fatty compliment to it all. That said, I wish I would have opted for the melted mozz option as I think it would have been a better representation of the area...my b. Our local drive also told us to get the deep fried pie (a local favorite and off menu) and I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Point of the story. If you're in Naples and using the train to get around in Italy, it's a most convenient stop.

This pizza place is amazing. Napoli city was a huge gong show; cars honking, people shouting, dirty, slum... but this place is a gem. Service was good from the get go. Ordered Pizza Norma and Pizza Marguerita Verna. Boy these pizzas were something else. The dough is very good and chewy, unlike other pizzas we tried. I really like their Pizza Norma Definitely will come back again.

Instantly became one of my favorites in Napoli. A must see kinda restaurant. Location: 1 Star -- dodgy 1/2 block from train terminal. Wife did not want to go down the street at 13:30 on a Sunday... glad we walked one more block and found it! Initial ambience: 2 stars -- they were busy and "being bothered" that we arrived. Ambience at table: 5 stars -- happy that we found a "Locals" kinda place where families were having a great time enjoying themselves. Most looked/talked like Italians visiting Napoli from other cities, on their way home on a train. Service: 5 stars -- they tried so hard to understand our bad Italian which is worse than their English. Difficulties show us how they handle distractions & they care about their patrons! Wines: 5 stars -- server definitely had her preferences and she new their wines well. Her choice was PERFECT for our menu choices. Food: 6 (SIX) stars -- the restaurant scene in Napoli is very competitive and great food should be served almost everywhere catering to locals. We did not have pizza, we save that for dinner. Mid-day meals are our main meals and this one was exceptional. I would type my fingers to the bone trying to describe exactly how perfect each dish had been conceived/prepared/served. Every ingredient was fresh, well chosen, superb. Portions: 5 stars -- the two of us were very well satisfied with one antipasti of seafood with salad, then a main course of pasta with seafood. Value: 5 stars -- very reasonably priced considering the superb ingredients and portions. Wine was a 90+ point selection at a reasonable price. SUMMARY: could have been a five star review other than location and initial welcoming. BUT this leads Pizzeria Franco to become a favorite! Timid tourists will never come here. I'd much rather dine with local families than loud parties who are Bette of at a burger joint or Pizzeria Michele.

Quick stop as it's really close to the Naples train station and wasn't expecting much. Was so pleasantly surprised!! Amazing crust (we took it to go that's how good it was), toppings and service! Highly recommended.

Very nice pizzeria! We ordered seafood pizza with anchovies and napoli fried mix. The pizza turned out to be a like a calzone and it was plenty for two of us. The only thing we didn't like is that anchoives are little uncooked. The fried mix is very delicious.

We have been in Naples for five days now, looking for some proper restaurant in the area around piazza Garibaldi every day. Franco is the one we came back to twice. The pizza is really the best I have ever eaten and the service is fast and friendly.
