We were just on vacation and this was one of the spots I looked up and had to try. Well I am so happy we did the food was amazing. The burgers were so Good and fries were nice and crispy. Next time I am back I will be sure to stop in again. The single was great my husband said the double was even better.

Batch 44 - Bayou Bite: 4.5 stars. Bun/slaw good, liked the bbq sauce. Breading had great crunch but 2 thinner slices of chicken. Wed dinner 2023-07-19

The food was a mixed bag, some dishes great, some not so much. The general consensus was the beer wasn't great. But I did enjoy my cocktail! The DJ/emcee for music trivia bingo was a lot of fun. You got to choose your Bingo card. He played songs spanning the decades, but you're also allowed to Shazam. He also walked around, looked at our sheets, and pointed out any songs we may have forgotten to stamp. People from our table one 3 out of 5 prizes given that night! THE DRINKS * Passion fruit fizz - 4.5 stars Lovely thick layer of egg white that gave the drink texture, sharp citrus flavor. Also, props to the staff as my partner ordered the wrong drink for me at first - they let me swap out that wrong order for this drink! * Coast Sour - 3 stars This drink was not for me - too strong, flavors not subtle at all. The beers generally weren't great; a lot of them lacked body and complexity. The best one was the IPA, the worst was the cream ale. THE FOOD * Bayou Bite - 4.5 stars The bun & slaw were good, and we liked the bbq sauce. The breading had a great crunch but we had 2 thinner slices which leads to less juicy chicken and too much breading. * Beer Battered Cod Batch Soft Tacos - 4 stars The fish tasted very fresh, with a nice balanced thin layer of breading and lots of toppings that worked well. Don't let it sit too long or it could get pretty soggy. * Nachos - 1-2 stars I didn't try this or get a photo, but my friend said this was pretty bad.

She helped him first (white middle aged man) instead of me, (black female). I ordered a sample of the IPA then she never came back again. Paige was wonderful however, over time she waited on me, I ordered wing, very good and she gave suggestions. She was kind. On my way out, saw Chelsea on the patio, I smiled and said "goodbye." She didn't utter a word to me so then I was sure she had something against me. She needs firing and Paige needs a promotion. Paige is why I ranked in 2 stars instead of 1. I won't be back...ever.

Also used to be Goofy's pub, so I've been there before, half a lifetime ago. The building is big inside, and out. Post and beam design and quite nicely decorated inside. We were seated quickly, and appeared to just beat the rush, as a bunch of party's came in right after us. Our waters were quickly dropped by the young lady who sat us, and we were then handed off to our server. We sort of got lost in the shuffle, and sat for a bit before she came by. We ordered our beverages and food at the same time, which we typically do not do. Our food came out before our beverages which I am never a fan of. My Togarashi Orange bowl was a big portion, but I got none of the Togarashi nor orange in it. It had a hint of heat which was great. The mango had no taste at all. K's Beef dip was ok, but lacked real flavour and the au jus was just alright. We also felt the fries were a little sparse. If I was given the opportunity to give half marks it would be a 3.5, not a 4, but also definitely not a 3. We'd give it a go again when on Sechelt.

They let us come early to decorate, they made sure the accessible entrance was clear and unlocked for our wheelchair, and they remained close by to get us more drinks whenever one of our guests needed a refill. So I went to Saffron in 2019 and had Butter Chicken so sweet I didn't eat it and left. (No one…read moreasked me if another dish might suit me better.) Six years later my wife and I decided to try again. Me: I was here years ago and I found the dish I ate too sweet. Is it possible to get my food without sugar? Sweet Waitress What was the dish? Me: I think it was Butter Chicken Sweet: There's no sugar in our Butter Chicken. It's made with tomato paste, ketchup... Me: (after she had finished listing ingredients.) Ketchup is almost pure sugar. I've been eating Indian cuisine for the large part of two centuries and in many cities on two continents. I cook northern and southern Indian dishes. I've taken classes, have several cookbooks and subscribe to the better you tube channels (I recommend Swasthi's.) Ketchup is not an ingredient in Indian food. I asked if there was ketchup in several other dishes and was basically told that the Korma was my best and only choice. There was ketchup even in the tandoori chicken. (There is an exception. There is a little chopped onion salad that is often made with either tomato chutney or ketchup.) Korma is a light sauce usually made with yoghurt and maybe a little cream. This was thickened with flour. So much flour that it reminded me of the time I tasted the paste in nursery school. The best word to describe it is "glop." To the many people who wrote rave reviews I beg you to take the ferry to the city and go to one of the many fabulous Indian restaurants there. Swad in West Vancouver is closest and the best. Vij's is amazing but very pricey. Sula and East is East are both terrific and you will pay the same as Saffron, maybe a tad less. My wife had the dahl. A lentil dish. It had a very strong flavour of...you guessed it---ketchup. We asked and, yes, it was, in fact, ketchup. The service was lovely. The naan bread was very good. Neither of them contained ketchup.
