Peter is a genuinely great guy ! He is quite friendly and immediately makes you feel at home. I was greeted instantly with a smile; he then showed me around the store and helped me find exactly what I needed! He also cracked a few jokes during my visit. I just visited PL Tools in Van Nuys, and I was amazed at that store! He has everything you could ever need for the DIY guys, as well as the professionals! And on top of all that, Peter (the owner) is such a nice guy!!! He cracks jokes, he asks you what it is that you're looking for, and then he lets you browse without putting any pressure on you to buy! Rude and racist. I witnessed a brown presenting woman approach his store entranceway. Before she entered through the door, Peter was dismissive by barking at her, "What do you need?!" Is that how you greet a potential client/consumer? No "hello, how may I help you?" This woman appeared to be wearing medical scrubs. Looks like PL Tools missed out on a potential customer. read more

Great little gem in Van Nuys. A small tool store packed with many things. I always like to swing by here if I need a random tool for a small job around the house, and always have a great talk with the owner. Not only is this a hidden jem in the valley, but the owner is really nice and knowledgeable and will accommodate most of you're requests if he doesn't have the product in stock at that moment. At first, when my boyfriend brought me with him to the store, I thought it was like any other ordinary hobby/tools/guy store... but then I started looking around and actually found things that I needed, such as an airbrush and other gardening items. Roman can't get enough of this store and I don't blame him because the prices are definitely affordable and the quality is not cheap either. This is a long-overdue review. Its hard to find a store like this nowadays. Peter has gotten me out of quite a few binds when I just needed that one tool to complete a job! I can't say enough good things about Peter and his setup. I recently was able to find a compressor at a very reasonable price. Peter is very cool and very accommodating. I bought a mobile torch kit at a ridiculously low price. The price of the kit is less than the price of a component in the kit. The problem? The cylinders were empty, as they should be in a closed box. I went to refill them or have them swapped. The gas business has a picture of these cylinders on their wall to watch out for people trying to get them filled or replaced. They are a no-go to refill because they are from China. They do not have the DOT number required and therefore I cannot swap them or fill them. I could not tell this on the box. I don't know what's going to happen when I try to use the torch or regulators yet. Research before you buy and beware of low priced tools. I gave 4 stars because the vendor agreed to give me a refund and let his distributor know about the cylinders. That's good business! read more
