Mary was so knowledgeable and friendly and not only answered all our questions but gave great advice on horticulture, composting, and much more. All the staff were friendly! Take your time to stroll and look at all the beauty surrounding you at every turn. Leave your worries in the garden. It's quite a small area of land compared to the parks/preserves in the area, but while you are within the bounds of this garden, it feels quite peaceful/zen. It is designed to mimic that of Japanese Garden. The details of the wooden cross bridge, abundant bamboo trees, stone lanterns/water basins, the pond and the Japanese tea house located in the middle all make you almost forget that you are in NY and feel like you are transported to Japan for a moment. It's a really nice escape while taking in the sights & having a casual stroll. Although I do suggest a visit once, I don't think it's worth the trek coming all the way here just for this (just because it only takes 30min max). It's a great detour while having other things on the agenda to do around the area.

Then asking her if she was SURE considering he is a service dog, she said "well where is his tag showing service dog" so I said "it's right on his vest that he's wearing... but that's not required to be there just so you know" then she proceeded to say "well you can get that anywhere, where are his papers" and I said "WE DO NOT NEED PAPERS HE IS A SERVICE DOG". This whole interaction was extremely disgusting for her behavior. The fact that I was treated as if I was lying and then asked for papers which is illegal and NOT required to have as of New York State was crazy. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The pool club is amazing , it's like you're at a resort . They have a kiddie section with water buckets and palm trees and two big water slides , the main pool area is huge and so clean, they have plenty of umbrellas and canopy's, as well as lounge chairs . Their food section is great as well, standard beach food like chicken fingers , hot dogs , burgers stuff like that . We love it there . We will continue to sign up every year it's worth it .

On a recent Sunday the entire park was a hub of activity and there was people in every corner, yet the park was big enough for all of us. I saw kids playing in the playground, a few tossing fishing rods into the pond, some playing basketball, a family playing badminton, a group chatting on a long bench, someone talking nonstop on the phone, children riding bikes, and there was us watching all this activity and soaking it all up. Free street parking is all around the park and in the nearby streets, alright there was definitely more cars on the weekend.
