They got everything here- a dog park that is not divided into separate sections for small & large dogs (my Frenchie got bitten by a large dog here, we never been back since), picnic areas, baseball field, tennis, volleyball, handball/ paddleball and basketball court (all the hoops has no nets), golf course, playground (no swings, why?) and lots of hiking/ fitness trails. During the winter months, they have ice skating. I did the night session (4-6 pm) with a group of friends and kids, it wasn't crowded and we had a lot of fun. In the summer, there's an outdoor swimming pool for Nassau residents only. There's also the Spring Carnival in June & August and probably my favorite, the Farmer's Market (June-Dec.) every Wednesday. read more

We love coming here for ice skating! Our main gripe is that every year it seems like their website gets harder and harder to navigate, and there seldom is anyone around to answer questions over the phone. It took several tries for us to find out that their website is completely down this season, so reservations for skating sessions can't be made in advance. Once we did find out about this, we just planned on walking in and hoping for a relatively empty session - thankfully it was! 4 pm on a Monday seems like the perfect time to go, both for the beautiful sunset and the lack of crowds. Great spot for a fun date or casual hang out with friends. read more

Visit Date: February 8, 2021 I came here for a quick hike after meeting my friend at her house. I had a tattoo planned for later in the day that never panned out and a consultation at another tattoo shop. I planned on visiting a different park but sometimes with hiking I don't go to the original park I planned for whatever reason and have to come up with a new park on the fly. The hike here was a beautiful little loop but not all that big just under a mile. There's a nice little cabin at the beginning of the trail. The trees are absolutely beautiful and even though I hiked in the snow it was still really nice to see. If you're looking for a short hike this is the park to go to! read more

You can only use the trails if you are a town resident. Someone stopped us as we were entering to ask for our drivers license. When we explained we only wanted to walk the trail and not use the pool or courts they still refused entry. Try another park if youre not a resident of the town. read more

I visited this park with my friend on a nice early spring afternoon for some walking exercise. There are some trails in a wooded area and more around the park. The area is kept very clean and the other people in the park seemed to be following COVID-19 guidelines like mask wearing and social distancing. There is a large parking lot with plenty of parking. Park with plenty of amenities. Firstly I like this park because of the dog run. Dog runs seem to few and far between on Long Island - mostly because most people have yards but there are plenty of renters who have pets too, and need places like this. Aside from the dog run, there are tennis courts, a small golf course (9 holes), picnic areas, a pool and ice skating in the winter. It is a county park so you'll have to pay to use the pools and the like but I never was hassled at the dog run. Plenty of parking and lots of space to just walk around in. read more

Nice, spacious green area in Roslyn that has athletic fields for softball, paddleball, basketball, ice skating rink, indoor and outdoor tennis, a public pool, picnic area, play grounds, chess board tables and hiking trails. It's nice to come in the autumn when the weather is cooler and the park is quieter. The trails are a bit hilly so not ideal for jogging. A peaceful place to come visit and recommended. read more

We went ice skating a while back when it was colder and had tons of fun...It seemed a bit expensive, though. I went to the dog park today with my dog for the first time (her first time at a dog park as well as mine) She had a blast! I also appreciated the fact that there were shovels available. I don't know if that's typical. I used my "cleanup" bag within the first five minutes, but she decided she wasn't done. The only thing I will say is that the trash receptacles seemed to be completely full, which was a little troublesome when more waste needed to go in. Other than that, it seemed to be well maintained. The other dog owners were very polite, and everyone seemed to be very aware of their dog's behavior, which was a concern of mine. I will definitely be going back now that the weather is beautiful!!! read more

This park has much to offer: golf course, nature trail, swimming pool, tennis court, playground, field, basketball court, dog run, and camp ground. Our favorite is the outdoor ice skating rink. We love to skate on winter Sunday mornings. The crowds are sparse and the atmosphere is idyllic. The only complaint is that the ice tends to melt along the edges when the temperature is above 50 degrees. My son's boy scout troop has camped in the woods here; you would never realize that you were so close to "civilization." It was great! read more

NOTE TO PEOPLE OF COLOR WHO GO TO THE SWIMMING POOL. My family and I arrived to the facility and had multiple lifeguards giving us dirty looks and whistling for seemingly everything we did and every time they heard us talk in Spanish. We got SCREAMED at very nastily for taking a picture-- a rule that we had no idea existed since there is no postage about this and it was our first time at the facility. We saw a white woman with her child travel the entire swimming pool while taking pictures of said child with a giant canon camera and was not called to attention a single time. My mom feels uncomfortable wearing a revealing swimsuit so she wears a long tight swimming shirt and shorts. Halfway into our time there one of the lifeguards told her that it was unacceptable and asked her to leave the swimming area. A white woman wearing a bigger t-shirt and shorts was never called to attention about her clothing and was allowed to remain in the pool. I've had multiple family members who visit the pool tell me about similar incidents with lifeguards and managers at the facility. A sensitivity training about how to interact with people of color is long overdue with your lifeguards. We deserve the same respect and treatment as your white patrons. read more

This is one of my favorite parks on Long Island. It's free for Nassau residents to park at, it's super clean, and it's never crowded. The park has a pool, golf course, dog park, play ground, several fields and courts, and even an ice skating rink in the winter. If you're a runner, hiker or just love nature, I'd take advantage of the beautiful trails next to the dog park. Also, on Wednesday mornings there is a farmer's market in the spring, summer, and fall. read more

I went there for the pool only, $16 for adult entrance fee. The salt water was cold there I believe because it was still early in the morning, temperature was ~80-89'F, the staffs were nice there, there were 3 life guards for the big pool and 1 for each small pool(there are 2), the changing room was also very clean but all the lockers are no longer working. read more

We took the nieces here for a nice Sunday afternoon of skating. The prices for folks without a Leisure Pass (apparently a resident's pass to use public parks is Nassau County) is very expensive -- $20 admission for adults and $14 for children not counting skate rental. The rink was kept up well and crowded as much as you'd imagine on a pretty Sunday at 1pm. I didn't skate, but I was told the skates were VERY uncomfortable (like, more so than normal rentals). Also, the ice was choppier than it should have been and maybe needed more frequent grooming throughout the heavy use times. Otherwise, it was a great afternoon spot for a family fun day in the winter. read more

Very nice park. I come here in the summer time for the pool, it's huge. There is also a kiddie pool and another small pool with diving boards. The price is reasonable, $15 non resident, $7 if you live in Nassau. No parking fees I believe during the week but there is a fee on the weekends. Only con is that it's a bit far but it's closer than jones beach! Can't wait to go again this summer. read more

My husband and I are beginner golfers, and we like to come to the 9-hole, par 30 golf course here to play a quick fun round of golf on weekends. Hand pull cart rentals are $3. You don't need to rent a motor cart unless you have mobility issues. read more

Too many people bring their dogs into the park unleashed. There is a dog run at the north end of the park. There are signs when you walk into the park no dogs allowed. Yet people bring the dogs in many of them unleashed. I am allergic to dogs and if this park does not allow dogs in the park they should have staff making sure that people do not bring there dogs in the park. I was there yesterday in the late afternoon and a lady had 2 big white dog unleashed on the track then she walked into the park with them. This is not right that no one was there to tell the woman no dogs. read more

The park is beautiful. My husband and I do not golf and we took our grandkids to swim in the pool, but it was very cold. They didn't like it. The children's playground is nice, but lack swings. I think swings are a major mistake on the part of the park. I spoke with other parents in the area and they felt the same way. Children love swings. read more

I came here for the pool and let me say compared to previous rules this place is terrible !!! Not only was I charged for my infant child --9 months old-- the staff was absolutely rude!!!! You are not allowed to have any small floaties for your child. You can't even take pictures!!!! I couldn't capture my sons first time at the pool! I don't understand why! When I asked the lifeguard I cannot take pictures and capture my sons first time at the pool she said no in such a rude manner!! The pool was beyond freezing!!!!! I asked for a refund since It was too cold and would've rather came another day; they said no: well at least warn us that water is freaking freezing!!! All they want is your money!!! They claim its a publc pool, why am I paying so much money for such crappy service!! I am never coming back!!! I wish I can rate this place below 0 that's all it deserves ! read more

We were on Long Island and needed somewhere for our 7 year old and 5 year old to play. We Yelp'd 'playground' and found this park. We had a break for a few hours. This kids played on the playground and we also played wiffle ball on one of the baseball fields. Had we known there was a huge pool complex - which was not crowded at all - we'd have brought swim suits and let them play and dive. There were families having BBQ's in picnic groves, many people walking, a dog park, playground, basketball courts, hand ball, and a municipal golf course. If you're in the area and need somewhere to relax or exercise - it was a great place. read more

warning do not go to the park if alergic to bees. i was there today and brang apple juice for my son they were all over us. no swings but a beautiful park, three playgrounds. i would rate better but no swings and someone needs to do something about bees was told nest in tree or under the playground not sure. read more
