The only negative is that the pond has a lot of algae but other than that it's great. I come here for picnics too. Even though 4 geese call this pond their home, there's never a lot of poop on the ground which is always a plus. I believe this park to be dog friendly. This park always makes my day. If there is a big event here there is plenty of street parking. You walk through the entrance and are immediately greeted by flowers... Lots and lot of flowers. The gardens are divided into different sections all of which are great for photos. They have footbridges, rock gardens, lakes and plenty of trees and paths. Occasionally there are special exhibits in the original Clark house. I have been there for photo and watercolor shows. There are also concerts as well as special events for the children during various holidays. Clarke is a complete package. It's beautiful and peaceful as well. Nice place to just sit and relax. Thanks to the Town of North Hempstead for maintaining this lovely property that we can enjoy at no charge. There is also a lovely gift shop.. Make sure you stop by on your visit here. Based on many recent positive visitor reviews, people consistently praise the stunning landscapes, historic mansion, tranquil atmosphere, and endless photo opportunities. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's truly a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours. Whether you want to leisurely stroll through the gardens, take lots of photos, or do a little of both, about two hours feels just right. There's also plenty of free parking, which makes visiting easy. While the current admission price of $22 per adult feels a bit high, the beauty of the property and the overall experience still make it worth the visit. Throughout the year they host great special events, including classic car shows and an incredible illuminated pumpkin trail before Halloween that has become a Long Island favorite.

I definitely recommend checking Google maps using Google Earth view before you go because we ended up getting lost and couldn't find the entrance for 15 minutes. A lot of local libraries do offer Old Westbury Gardens passes so definitely check out your local library before purchasing tickets to see if they're available!

This beach park is big, the website boasts over 60 acres of land. Since this is a beach slap on the sunscreen and soak up those rays, vitamin deficient folks will have no problem producing more vitamin D as the sun is scorching! There are open and covered picnic areas for you to barbecue. I think these areas require a permit and a fee and are only available to residents of the town. The beach has at least 2 life guards at every marked swimming area and these guys and gals do their job, so people please swim within the flags! Food options are limited and the concession stand is only opened on the weekends, the prices are fairly reasonable. The beach park is pet friendly and they provide baggies at certain stations so you can clean up after your pooch. There is a fee for parking $15 for residents and $20 if you're not a resident. A great place to spend a weekday or weekend to get away from the heat or just hang.
