This place is not open. Doors are locked and phone won't take calls. I've tried two different times two weeks apart.

I have been a paying member of this establishment for over 15 years. I honestly only used the membership to tan, usually only during spring or summer. I recently moved out of town and requested to cancel my membership. I emailed my cancellation request in October 2025 yet continued to be billed $60 a month for services I don't even use to this day!!! Various requests and emails to the owner Gena have been ignored so I have had to get the BBB involved. I always had a good experience there with the equipment and employees. It's so unfortunate to have to continuously fight for a refund after having been a loyal customer for so long. WTH!!! read more

I would like to start off saying that this is a very nice place as far as cleanliness, hospitality from employees and services available. However the hours of business does not match the website or hours on the door. Seems that they open and close as they wish for their own convenience. I have been a member now for about 2 weeks and have walked in at 3:02 pm on a Wednesday and was told sorry we are closed. Along with arriving 2 other times once 6pm on a Tuesday and 7:03 pm tonight Wednesday January 28, 2026 and find that they're closed. Where do I even begin.... The owner (Paula) is absolutely horrible and lacks customer service skills. The location is dirty and half the time the equipment isn't working. The staff is nice but always changing due to the incompetence of the owner. If you want to waste your time, money, and leave frustrated this is the place for you. read more

Do not go here. The machines are often not working. Additional costs for using equipment are randomly required. The owner has terrible management skills, is a pushy salesperson who lies about the effects of her machines, and doesn't train her ever revolving door of employees properly. I was told I signed up for a 3 month long membership by a sweet, but brand new employee and the owner later told me it was 6 months without the ability to cancel or honor what I was told. She said I could cancel if I paid more money. I feel for her employees as they are all very nice but under poor and scammy leadership. read more

The salon was very clean, however, I went in for a spray tan which I was told was $39. When she finally told me the total it was over $60. I got a booster with it, but was told the cartridge was part of the total as well. If you've ever done the Mystic you know you have to have a cartridge to spray... so why was the spray tan and the cartridge two different prices? The employee working didn't show me how to do anything spray related only how to turn the booth on. read more

I love this place. I love yoga and I love getting into the infrared sauna. Planet Beach offers HotWorx, which combines both. This is a 3D workout that combines the energy and heat of the infrared sauna with movement which is the best workout combination currently available. The intense sweating detoxes your body while the infrared sauna also does cellular level healing all while you are working out in the heat, which has its own benefits! I do pay a monthly fee that to me is so trivial for the benefits I receive. I can't really put a price on good health. Plus, I get to use all of the other SPA services such as Red Light Therapy and Aqua Massage. I don't give a hOOt about having to pay a small fee to add a bronzer to my spray tan to have it show up "instantly" if I want it to. It irks me to read reviews on here posted by people wanting something for nothing, then complaining their something for nothing didn't come with them being served with a platinum spoon. This place is wonderful, they offer top of the line services that you can't get in combination any where else. And the owner and her daughter are delightful!!! read more

Consumer beware! This place is horribly, and has bad business practices. It is also very difficult to reach a live person via phone. Read everything you sign because your actual contract will be much longer than what they advertise. If there is an issue such as your card on file lapsing for any reason such as fraud on your account- they won't notify you (even though they have all of your contact information and have the ability to leave a message). Instead they turn your account over to a collection agency. At this point you are told that the term of you contract isn't what you discussed when you signed up, and any money you put down on the front end never existed. I apologize to every person I ever referred to this business; I was ignorant to their unprofessionalism and business practices. read more

I only go here for tanning, but they have an array of other services they offer... If its your first visit, be prepared to fill out a few forms. The staff here is awesome, I usually don't find vibrant and nice people at tanning salons, i'm use to the snobby receptionist up front. You wont find that here! The beds arent top notch, but they get the job done...Customer service goes a long way here, because I know I could find other tanning salons with amazing top notch beds, but I won't because I like the vibe I get here. If I ever did decide to get spa treatments, I would def. go here...but that stuff really isnt my cup of tea so I havent done it. read more

Got me a great looking tan for my upcoming wedding in December. I got the perfect bridal glow now and will continue to until then! My fiancé loves when I'm glowing and calls me his exotic queen when I'm tan. The place was clean and staff was super friendly. The young lady who checked me in (her name started with an I.. I've read most of the reviews from 2014 and I must say this location must be under new management because I can't imagine these girls getting 1 star. This is by far the best experience I've had in a salon like Planet Beach. I visit this facility approximately 4 times a week. I use their hydration station (basically it's a steam room but in a bed / pod), the red light face therapy and hydro-massage bed. I've dropped about 7lbs of water weight and my skin is softer due to the hydration. I LOVE IT! Make sure you schedule appointments as those machines are very popular. Everything is clean and well maintained. I think the girls that run the place are nothing short of amazing! Kari, Susan and Audry are all very professional, helpful and kind. I purchased a living social deal to this spa for a 3/3/3 deal and it seems more and more I'm finding that each living social deal I've purchased I get dismal treatment from the company. I was hoping not so in this case but I was wrong. I was 2 mins late to my appt and was promptly put into my first of 3 different sessions. Upon going to the third, I waited behind someone trying to book an appt and waited about 2-3 mins. When I was told where to go next, I was told I'd only receive 15 of the 20 min session because I was late. The "mgr" didn't account for the other hiccups besides me walking in at 1:32. She completely made me feel it was my fault I lost the 5 mins. She then said that the customer who had JUST walked in was a member and members get priority. So I booked this appt a week in advance and some "member" walks in and I lose 5 mins!?! I felt ripped off. So I decided to forgo the aqua massage and book it at a later date. I was really upset she made me feel like I was nobody just because I was using my living social deal. Maybe she didn't realize that I bought it to try the place out and possibly become a member. That didn't seem to phase her. She did however offer me like 5-7 mins with the oxygen machine which was awkward. I felt shunned. I'd like to have hope that I would be a member at a spa such as this someday, but I doubt it will be this one. Let's hope I dont get worse treatment on my last visit. read more

I called regarding Groupon, to first clarify some details in their fine print. The desk clerk answered friendly, but after hearing the word "GROUPON" suddenly got very snarky, sarcastic, and short with me. Was that really called for? Also, check with other reviews - I'm glad I did! Almost everyone who went in for their advertised Groupon deals were treated badly or had a bad experience. Glad I checked. PS - Displeased reviews often end up in the "non recommended or approved" section. (Nice job hiding bad but otherwise legitimate reviews.) This location is also well known for intentional bad service if you are not subscribed as a "member." Now doesn't that just make you wanna sign up? (Not really.) read more

I feel that I was ripped off by lack of information when purchasing this "deal". On the Groupon site it stated "An optional product pack, not included in this Groupon, can be added to the Luminous facial for $25 to enhance the facial's effects." However, when I arrived for my appointment the staff advised that I would have to purchase products for both the facial and hydro-derma fusion treatments at a cost greater than the actual Groupon price for services ($37.80 vs. $29)! The staff member was apologetic and admitted the Groupon did not mention that products are required for the facial and hydro-derma fusion treatments, not optional. Had this been either clearly stated up-front or if the product was included in a higher priced Groupon I might not feel so deceived. read more

Whenever I need to relax, chill out, and feel like a modern day princess, I load up and head over there for some pampering and southern hospitality. Not only do they have the most awesome top echelon streak-free sunless tanning in the extended region (believe me I know), they have an array of UVA beds and complementary skin, spa, massage, teeth whitening services combined with top of the line products and an unmatched breed of personalized customer service that"s, unfortunately, rare if not extinct, in today.s society. I canceled my service and they still charged me for two months past my 30 day notice! Once I notified them they lost my notice then only refunded one month past my 30 day notice. This place is awesome! The owners are great and truly care about their customers. Although they may have had some issues in the past with some short-term employees being "not-so-friendly" to customers, that isn't their fault. You do not know until you hire someone; all businesses contend with those same issues when hiring a new employee. Kari is one of the hardest working people I know; she cares about her customers and wants things to be good for them. They are friendly, supportive, and try very hard to make sure your experience is a positive one each and every time. They go above and beyond with customer appreciation days and give-aways. I canceled my membership back when new owners took over this year and now I find a charge as if I'm still a member! I was a member over 4 years and loved it until new owners came. My items were stolen from behind desk after new owners took over and then she blamed the owner before her! My items were never replaced! Not the same! Watch out if you purchase a Groupon for this "business"! They will make up their own rules when you try to redeem it. I purchased a Groupon, and they refused to honor it. Even though it says in the "fine print", "May repurchase every 30 days." The last one I purchased was over 5 years ago. They refused to take responsibility, laughing and blaming it on corporate. They were completely wrong. Groupon thought so too because they gave me a credit for the amount of the purchase. (I feel like I should have received a refund had to accept a credit because of Groupon's policies.) Under new management! Whatever! The previous management was way better. I purchased a groupon to try it out. I was given a tour and immediately told about their packages and if I was interested in signing up. HOLD UP! I told him I was there to check it out and see if this was something that I would be interested in. I was only able to try 2/3 of the machines. Not what I was expecting I guess. Just a bunch of machines that do all the work. You get put in a room and left to push start and hope for the best. The second I got to try the hydro massage, yet again not what I was looking for. I would take a live masseuse ANY DAY! The last time I came I had prebooked to finish all my appointments, because let's face it, I was dreading going but only trying to finish what I paid for. Again was asked by the male manager if I wanted to sign up, and I explained my reasons on why I wasn't interested (brutally honest). Then all of sudden my pre booked appointments were shuffled around for the members and he was brutally honest and told me they cater to their members first. RUDE!
