There's a reason Planet comics has so much in inventory. Incredibly overpriced on cards both singles and new product. 30-50% over tcg market on product they're still able to get from distributors. Not sure if their comic prices are any better, but for cards go to Empire games down the street. Grabbed a die out of the $1.50 bin and was told that it wasn't for sale and shouldn't have been in there because it was a "spin down from kaldheim" worth a whopping $3. The only reason they're still in business must be because no one shops around and knows the real price of things. Sad to see them take advantage of our community. Good store very nice staff there always nice and will make you day I got a dbz action figure and a book the book was out of place but it doesn't matter and a tiny bit pricey but if your looking for comics you have to come to planet comics if your in Anderson and it came with a free comic shop news and it's epic it makes you tuned for all the mangas coming out and comics and they try to keep up with the new latest stuff which is pretty awesome. read more

I wish I could support this business because their selection is very good. However, their customer service (or lack thereof) has led me to avoid the place entirely after my first few visits. The workers never acknowledge customers, seem annoyed when asked questions, and are very loud and vulgar when talking amongst themselves (definitely not a kid-friendly environment). If you know what you're looking for and don't care about the environment of the store, then this is a decent place to go. Otherwise, I'd recommend spending your hobby dollars elsewhere. read more

I placed a pre-order 2 months in advance for 2 booster boxes and two ETBs of Pokemon Chilling Reign. After two months of waiting the set was released and there was no update to tracking. I checked my email and found an apology from Planetcomicsdirect.com and they claim they did not receive enough allocations to fulfill pre-orders in the first print run. It was a bunch of garbage. When I bought my stuff prices were lower. Then they raised the prices of the pre-orders. I am sure that people who paid more got their pre-orders. I told the guy that and how I felt. I told him I would spread the word of their bad business. He threatened me and never gave me my refund. Offered to put me first in line on the Evolving Skies set instead. Planet Comics accomplishes more than it needs to to earn 5 stars. The basic function of a specialty shop, I believe I can say without controversy, is to provide goods that can't typically be acquired elsewhere. Planet does just this. Beyond providing a broad selection of comics, which it does, Planet has a great selection of board, miniature and card games. If, by chance, you want something that isn't currently in stock there's a very good chance that the staff is very helpful in tracking down the product and getting it in stock. Planet Comics goes beyond the requirements of a comics shop in that it has plenty of space for customers to just hang out if they'd like. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Walked in this afternoon to get some yugioh cards. The ones me and my brother wanted were behind the counter and I could see them. I asked the gentleman if I could look at them he said he didn't mind and I got what I needed and left. I came back to get another one with my brother and the bigger lady with blue hair was real snappy with me and unnecessarily rude to us. She also kept giving us a dirty look like we didn't need to be in there. She was very unwelcoming and I will not be returning. read more

According to my daughter "they had a lot of stuff there, they had good service and everything was in good order." We called to see if they had Sonic. They did, so we trekked down that way. And yes, they had Sonic, along with a solid collection of older Sonics. Imagine shelves with tons of boxes and sleeved comic books in a very large room. Plus, lots of books and collectibles and action figures. Manga, anime, lots of DC Comics. And the staff was quite helpful. Biggest complaint: we had a terrible time finding them! I finally called them as we were under their sign. Turns out they are behind the bar that faces the street. Now that I know that, I'll have to find a different complaint. read more

It's a great place to find comics and other collectibles but I seem to get a different experience every time I come here, based on who's behind the counter. My last two experiences were very different. I stop in to grab a few things for Dragon Con and thought I would get a couple of old Spider-Man comics so I could get Stan Lee to sign them. The guy behind the counter was super nice and very helpful in picking out the right books that had significance and would show a signature well. He also let me look through the books to examine their condition. So I leave, get those signed and sent off to be graded, then come back after the weekend in Atlanta. I see a comic on the top shelf that I was interested in and a little expensive and asked to see it. The woman behind the counter wouldn't let me take it out to examine it so I thought that maybe she could take it out and flip through while I looked. No such luck. When I asked if they would negotiate price, she said that her boss was the only one who could do that so I had to message him. He sent a message back fairly quick saying that they were going to stick with that price. So I was supposed to spend a lot of money for something I couldn't inspect before buying. These are just the last two times I've been here. It just seems very inconsistent. If a new shop opened with as big of a selection as them but had more consistent customer service, I would probably go there instead. read more
