Mitzie Bryant on January 13,2025, I went to Planet Fitness to cancel my membership due to the added medical bills from a wreck. They cancelled my membership. On January 18, I was billed the normal monthly fee of $27.11. I had to cancel due to my budget, and yet I was charged the full price again on January 18, 2025. I called and talked to an employee on Sunday that said that planet fitness normally charges for an extra month when people cancel their membership. I would like a refund, and a guarantee that you actually cancelled my membership. I just got off of the phone today Thursday January 23, 2025, with an employee of planet fitness who said basically the same thing, that they will charge an extra month when you cancel your membership. She also said it was in the original contract that I signed several years ago. Heartless, I have been a member for years, but now I see how they do their customers, it's all about the money, and how they are going to get the most money out of their customers. Mia, Debra and Bobo we're all at the desk today. My women's group from church has started coming to this one a couple weeks ago and I'm gonna just tell you the gym is phenomenal. The cleanest is phenomenal but the staff really what makes this location they are willing to help talk to you and set you up for success and not to get discouraged. Today one of the ladies in my group needed help on a machine and as they were refilling, the bottle stopped and helped. i've been to other gyms where they're like. This is what you do you just follow the sign. That's not what this location does they go above and beyond to make sure that you truly are happy there. Mia did a stretch class for me and my friend and we both have disabilities and she took it easy and change things so that we were able to do it what a great location! I've been a Black Card member for a couple months now and really enjoy this gym/location. Im not a gym rat in fact use a cane and need this to try to improve my mobility. I never feel awkward here. The staff and patrons are friendly and the amount of equipment is plenty for what I need. The only machine I sometimes have to compete for his the recumbent stepper - seems us older folks like it! the hydrobed is an awesome way to finish my visit and if your are into tanning, the Black Card membership includes that. I often bring someone with me as a guest, more for safety in case I fall out but the membership includes a free guest which is great for me! Its always clean, restrooms are taken care of...just all round a nice gym. read more

You really can't beat the price of Planet Fitness and that is a big deal. They have a great monthly price and a great facility. It's only about a year old so the machines and weights are new and work great. The stretching area has always been my least favorite thing. It's crowded and small. You have to go when no one is there is order to get some actual space. It's also one of the smelliest areas. It's hard to tell if it's the mats or floor, but when yo lay down it smells like sweat. Something I most recently found out was that the QR codes on all 100+ machines work with the LF Connect app, or they would if Planet Fitness enrolled the machines. With fitness trackers becoming a larger part of today's fitness, it's important to keep up with the tech. All in all, if you go at the right times it's a fantastic gym to join, as long as you don't need a pool. read more

I've been a member of several different gyms in the past and this one is great! The cardio, weights, and restrooms are always super clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. They greet me with a smile every single time I walk in and are always there to help. They have all of the equipment you would need to get a good workout in and those hydro massage beds are sent from God. Tiffany and Randall are the BEST! Tiffany is always hustling around cleaning, helping people, and doing it with a smile. Randall is always there to help you with whatever you need and remembers me and my husband by name. This location is tucked away in a plaza of the charming town Alvin. It took a little while to get to and is still in the process of building but nonetheless open for business. This location has everything a standard Planet Fitness has and the 360 circuit area, my personal favorite, is soon to come. The area is more square than most spaces I've been in, with individual rooms neatly around the gym with equal and plenty of space in each room. There is a stretch room with stability balls, 30 minute workout area, abs & hips area that are complete and functioning, and a small designated area to meet for P.E. at PF. The tanning/massage area is in a hallway with lots of accommodations. There are plenty of cardio machines: treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, and bicycles. I found it a little odd that they capped off two rows with one stairmaster on each end, so if you're with a partner you would be separated, but it's not too big of of a deal. There a weight area with dumbbells ranging up to 75 lbs and fixed weights up to 60 lbs. There are Smith, cable, and row machines also. Various machines are available for targeted muscle training. The locker rooms were a little small with not many lockers as I normally see, but there is a another set of lockers directly in front of the welcome desk. Restrooms were clean with plenty of toilet stalls, dressing rooms, and showers. Really easy on the eyes and smelled great too, considering it was a restroom. There is also a balance beam scale available to weigh yourself. A really cool thing they do here, and apparently at Houston franchises, is having my SO on file so that next time we come in he can just use his phone number instead of signing in every time. All-in-all great place to get a workout in with friendly staff. Will return as this is the only Planet Fitness in the South East Houston area. read more

This place feels like family. I LOVED my time working out at PF and the only reason I'm not there is I moved out of state and my new home has a gym on site. The team there supported my goals, encouraged me, gave me advise on new shoes, always a smile and always called me by my name. My last day in Texas I stopped and said goodbye - that was hard because every step of the journey to losing weight and getting healthy I felt like I had my own support team. I like the gym, gets busy especially around the free weights and cable machine. It's clean and you get a lot for what you pay for. Of course I'd wish there was a pool, sauna and steam room. I bring my boyfriend with me to the gym about 6 days a week as a guest. So we go to the gym together for only $21 a month total with the being your buddy deal. That is what I like the most about it. I can live without a sauna room for that deal. read more

I've been going for about two weeks and already got ringworm. If your looking for a clean, hygienic place to work out this place is not it.

I'm not really going to draw out this review that long . Pro's and cons. Pros .its 10/20 a month hard to beat . Open 24/7 so good for shift workers .very well kept and clean .(keep up the good work ) .all new equipment since it's a new gym .CONS gets really packed around quitting time so 4/8 pm .its mostly machine work outs with a dumbbell rack . The lunk alarm ( that's just stupid ) they serve pizza . ... and Herbalife yes Herbalife people all come here mainly at night they don't bug people to much often but when they are there it's selfies laughing and giggles a few have tried to come up and talk to me about it I just try to kindly decline go on .this type of gym is for more people who don't like the free weights or mind using mainly machines .plus it's a great starting point for someone that just wants to get back in the grove then maybe go elsewhere after they feel comfortable . Gym is good but I have a problem with their membership. Planet fitness just withdrew 42.00 in june for my 2017-2018 year membership, I went in there to reduce my membership from 20.00 per month to 10.00, they told me that I would have to sign up for another membership and it would be 39.00 then 10.00 per month, I told them you just took out 42.00 why can't you use that membership fee since it is still june to go towards the new membership of 39.00. Oh no no way would they do that, I told them so you just took 42.00 for a year membership and now you want me to pay another 39.00 year membership because I want to reduce my monthly fee from 20.00 to 10.00 they said yes. Been a member for almost two years and they would rather loose a member then to keep me. I will be writing the attorney general office and consumer affairs along with the credit bureau, might be able to get there help. read more
