I attempted multiple times to pause my membership for a month or two, but could never get through by phone, and there is no option to pause in the app. After repeatedly trying and getting no response, I eventually went to cancel, only to be charged over $100, despite the membership being contract-free. I called daily for a week before finally reaching someone at the front desk, who apologized and said they would look into issuing a refund and would call me back to reinstate and pause my account. That was weeks ago. I never received a call, email, or any follow-up, and I've since been unable to reach anyone again. The lack of communication, inability to pause a supposedly flexible membership, and being charged under these circumstances was extremely disappointing. I can't recommend this gym based on how this situation was handled.

I felt like a kid in a candy store looking at all of the equipment they had to offer in the workouts. it excited me, but challenged me at the same time. Fear started to take over my brain, can I do this bc spartan was far more advanced from where I was coming from. I began taking the drop in workouts, sweating like crazy of course doing my best to overcome the challenge in front of me. I was also looking for a gym with an adult mindset, no pettiness or caddiness, because let's face it... when you go to a gym to actually work out, you shouldn't have to deal with childish distractions. But I saw that I really wasn't going to have to worry about this because everyone there was like a Big happy family that have known each other for years even if they haven't. Everyone here was here to really work out And no one acts as if they are better than you here, instead some of the other clients might come over to help you learn a workout in a different strategy if you aren't getting the movement down as fast as you would like too! I began to see that Spartan wasn't a drama show only drama free zone and when you choose a gym like spartan, you will be able to concentrate better on your workouts! The level of Friendliness from everyone is still there even after I decided to do a month to month contract instead of paying daily. I felt like I was at the right place at the right time if that makes sense, like I hit the lotto because the workouts were challenging and I knew that's what I needed. I know I have the mentality Where I need to be pushed. If I were to workout by myself at home or somewhere like a at your own risk type of gym, I wouldn't go because I have already tried that way before. There is a rotation of trainers for each workout or you can sign up for open gym or do both, whichever you prefer. The classes they offer are a mix of cardio and strength toning, so you aren't just toning but burning calories too and where I was coming from before didn't have much cardio mixed in. But they also offer open gym if you are experienced and want to do it all on your own. They also don't get frustrated with you when you arent getting a move down, instead they keep working with you till you do. It's a great mix and each class still continues to challenge me. Spartan works with you to make sure you are doing the movements correctly and they really do have alot of patience for clients like me who struggle learning a workout. The prices are very reasonable too! I wish I would of done my research and went to this gym first, I am forever grateful for finding spartan gym! They even have signs for that but nobody in that gym ever wants to talk and always quick to report people for no reason. Her classes are also crazy expensive for basically showing up to workout and following her workout of the day that she writes on the board. Her equipment is average and her gym is dirty.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.

Plenty of paved, unpaved, gravel and dirt trails that offer easy hikes throughout the park. Pavilions, picnic areas, playground equipment, a volley ball pit and pool all scattered about the 300+ acres of parkland. It does get crowded on the weekends in summer but weekdays you can catch a nice walk in with relatively minimal human interaction. NSP is well maintained and has plenty of facilities. It was also a recreation center at one point, closing down possibly in the seventies. As teens, we believed an urban myth that the Philly rock station WMMR sponsored a concert here, and the attendees went crazy, trashing Olympia in the process. What really happened is that WYSP, a different rock station, held a "Ramblin' Raft Race Riot" in the early eighties. (You can see how the word "riot" incites some people.) Anyway, it ended up being privately owned, but that did not faze us from entering its abandoned grounds. So, now Burlington County owns this park. I am glad it has been protected from possible condos, but I am not so sure if the county is going to improve this park like they have promised. All I can say is that when this park went public, it lost some of its spirit due to cars on walking paths and humans that think that nature embraces empty forties. Parking is just off of 130. You can walk, fish, swim, boat, and birdwatch here. There are two lakes- one huge one, and a smaller, longish one with mini islands here and there. This smaller lake is bound by Route 130 on one side, but you get used to it. There are paths going around the lakes in a general fashion. In the late eighties the people who lived on the residential road bordering the south end of the lakes used to claim that their street was "private". Feel free to boogie down this street. I don't take kindly to liars who come out in hastily put on robes, ex-cop or not. Paths also go to areas in general woods, and open areas. The rest of the park is bordered by Beverly Rancocas Road, and an industrial park. Go past the industrial park to get to Crystal Lake. Somehow, neither of these manmade entities ruin the atmosphere. Docks could be here and there, depending on their state. Getting down to the water is easy, anyway. You might see remnants of the rec club's past glory. Friends of ours once built a sweat lodge near a set of cement stairs. I used to sit on these stairs and read for hours. This is also where my dog, Daisy, flushed out a rabbit which a barn owl swiftly scooped up. I enjoyed seeing the blue flags coming up every year and eating persimmons right off the tree. Blackberries are biannual and delicious. There should be a giant, cement "compass" still there, serving as a weed garden. You may also see: snakes, turtles, baby turtles, turtle eggs, turtles laying eggs (no crap), snapper shells that you hide until someone else finds it, stuck woodchucks in abandoned wells (no crap- we saved it), egrets, herons, swans, owls, turkeys, an albino goose, weird rocks that seem melted in the orangeish sand area, and many varieties of mushrooms. I never saw the eagles. Watch out for the aforementioned well. It is not deep and it is covered with nature, but someone can still get hurt. And dead animals. I once found two deceased German shepards- together- sometime in the early 2000's. It's a haunting image. It is funny that the police dog training building is right down the street from that depressing scene. You can hit the Rancocas, at the way back, heading south. You will see old, cement structures that once supported creek industry. Daisy almost floated away on a mini iceberg here. I also pet a rabid bat back there. And just watched the creek there, reflecting on life as the sun reflected on the creek. My special haunt is a secret no longer. Glad that some people will come to love it, too.

Great gym, just poor hygiene. I have been coming here for some time and it has been very easy going. Great staff, great people, etc. What bothers me is the lack of staffing in the morning and the fact that none of the equipment appears to be wiped down. It's not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to come into a clean gym in the morning. That is my only qualm with the gym. I am a very satisfied customer other than that reason. read more

Like many others can attest to, this Planet Fitness location is very intrusive and rude to diabetics. There's a reason diabetics need to carry insulin around and disallowing them to creates a terrifying atmosphere for those concerned about their own health. Planet Fitness is supposed to be the "No Judgement Zone", that is of course only applicable if you do not have diabetes. read more

It's a nice club just poorly managed. Don't try to complain to Lauren the manager about anything because she will just cut you a attitude. Wonder how she got her position? Its dirty and not well kept. Trash left all over the floors esp in the locker rooms which are a disgrace. Wouldnt even consider taking a shower in the disgusting locker room. The last straw was not allowing my diabetic friend carry his insulin bag. When they obviously let junkies carry their dope bags wherever they want. read more

This gym does not respect safety and Covid guide lines... the patrons are "required" to wear masks... but they never make sure they are or that they wipe the equipment down after them......or even curtesy stuff like not talking on the phone while on the gym floor. If any questions can't be answered while I'm there, she always gives me a follow-up call at home telling me that my issue was resolved. They are taking multiple precautions for Covid; masks are required and wearing them is enforced, temperature is taken at door, social distancing enforced by select equipment being restricted. Sanitizing solution, paper towel dispensers and hand sanitizer are strategically placed throughout the gym. Members also have the option to have their own sanitizer spray bottle to keep throughout their workout (available at the front desk). The staff also cleans multiple times a day. Jessica and her staff have really gone above and beyond to keep members safe. Aside from Covid, they have always maintained a clean gym. All equipment is in perfect working order and they have a great selection of machines, free weights and cardio equipment. It's open 24/7 so there's no excuse for missing a workout!!

Don't let the tiny little storefront trick you, this place is much larger than it seems. When I went inside I was shocked by how clean it was! Albeit this is a new location with brand new machines, but because it's a somewhat smaller gym cleanliness is something that's easy to maintain here. Ahem, unlike some other chain gyms in the area. They also have a fair number of machines that I've never seen at most other commercial gyms. For instance a stair master that's a literal stairs, basically a small escalator that you get to continually walk up. They also have a brand new ReAct machine (the only one in Pennsylvania!) which is a really weird experience but definitely worth a shot. It's a very quiet place, and on average there's perhaps five people there working out at any given time. You never have to fight for equipment. Overall I really like this gym, and it really sticks out from most of the other chains in the area. Go while it's still new, I get the feeling this place will start filling up soon.
