CEO planet plfitness needs to recognize and see this cause it's such an honor to have her represent halls business. I have never seen such a devoted incredible employee. The gym is clean, the bathroom is always clean. Even on " full hours, it's always clean, beginner friendly and achievable. All the machines are smooth. A lot of beginner friendly machines, bunch of threadmills and stupid stair masters. I hate them but they do have a lot . From buff professional trainers, to 16 year old beginners. I have two teenager daughters that come with me, and they also really likes this gym. Teenagers are hard to impress.i love the partial enclosed specific work out areas. The booty workout area, is genius.even if I don't bring headphones, they have music and hardly any noise. It's not overwhelming. So many tvs options all with caption. The black spa is worth it. Don't be cheap it ain't worth it. The massages chairs, the hydro massage, the red light therapy and vibration rooms are phenomenal. They also have tanning beds and stand up tanning booth. Equipment broke. A lot just need adjustments. Material spreading and scraping your skin. I was a maintenance tech for Hillsborough county and clearwater planet fitness. These issues are easily fixed but not being addressed. Some machines won't lock properly and that is a violation of OSHA waiting to happen if someone is injured. I've belonged here a few years. Pay year 'round Black card tho I'm outside the U.S. a lot of the year. I'm sure this isn't just a problem here, but it might be solved if personnel walked the floor once in awhile. Everytime I come, doesn't matter what time of day, there are machine squatters who just sit on the machines and mess with their phones. For a long time! They don't even care if they see people waiting. You may think, "why not use a 2nd machine?" Because there's often someone using the 2nd machine or it's out of order. Today I mentioned to the desk for the 3rd time. A young woman sat on a machine over 20 minutes, still there when I left. I want to stick with this membership, but you're making it hard for those of us who come to actually work out. I can do my texting and googling, etc. at home. read more

Today was my first day signing up again at a new Planet Fitness location (I was previously a member in Manassas, VA and Columbus, OH), and I'm so glad I chose the Cortez Rd club. The gym is spotless, and from a quick look, all the equipment appears clean, new, and well-maintained. The music was very nice, and the TV channel selection offered a great variety, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The locker rooms are extremely clean, too. A big shout-out to Melissa, Mya, and Jess -- incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. When I couldn't get the app to download right away, they stepped right in and even helped me get set up on the HydroBed so I could still enjoy the full experience on day one. The equipment is in good condition. (Maybe one or two machines might be down periodically, but there's plenty of other machines and they get fixed quickly.) The staff are always very friendly and make it a point to tell you to have a blessed day. There's tons of lockers and while it isn't the newest benches, the changing area and showers are well lit and clean. All around well maintained gym. I just wish they were open 24 hours on the weekends--or at least to midnight. read more

I came to this gym early this morning which is a 25 minute drive for me, I knew I had missed a payment (ongoing issue with my bank) but the app clearly says "You may access your Club Pass one time and then your Club Pass will be unavailable until payment is received.". I politely told the guy I had missed a payment and that the app said I could still use the gym one time (I was going to the gym super early, before the bank opens for me to sort out my payment issue). He said "the computer says you cant because you need to make a payment", I showed both guys working my phone app where it clearly says I can use the facilities, there was literally nobody in the gym and they turned me away. I even told them it was almost a 30 minute drive for me and the guy said he has to go by what the computer says. And its not just the staff. I've been coming here since January and its pretty gross. The equipment is fine but the locker rooms are absolutely disgusting. There have been flies in the shower EVERY single time l've used it, the last time I was there I looked down and one was tangled in my chest hair. They also don't seem to be cleaned like at all, there's always trash inside the shower like soap wrappers and huge balls of hair. It seems like they clean it once a day and never really check on it other than that. Probably the worst part is the showers are only hot like 20% of the time and most of the shower curtains don't even close all the way. All I want to do is cancel my member ship which I've had to do before with another planet fitness and it was a NIGHTMARE. I had moved to Florida from NC and wasn't able to go into the gym to cancel, so l had to mail them a letter saying I wanted to cancel (which is what they instructed me to do). Even after mailing the letter, they charged me for the following 2 months. Really hoping the manager reaches out to me so we can address these issues :( UPDATE: I emailed PF like the owner suggested and they refused to help. They explained that there is nothing they can do, so my issue still isn't resolved. I love this planet fitness. (14th st and Cortez) The people who work here are knowledgeable and so nice. The place is so clean. The hydro massage beds are great if you have back problems or just to relax. I have met and talked to all the people who work there and i have only good comments. They seem to genuinely care. It is decent gym but they are always playing games with your bank account, ive been there 2 months already and have spent over 200 dollars on fees and sign ups apparently they have all kinds of reasons, the seperate company they use to charge is no help either, they just repeatedly the same thing over and over, im still going but if I see one more fee beside my membership fee for another year, I am canceling my membership and getting my 5 friends I go with to cancel with me. read more

I will be emailing corporate Monday and putting in a call to the manager of this location. I travel and this is by far my least favorite gym. Chairs or beds are always broken. AC was out for extended time. Manager turnover is huge. I was told if I referred a friend I would not get a month credit even though it says that on the website. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful when they look up from their phones. O e exception and I will put my treatment from her in my email. I too would score a 0 if that were and option. If cleanliness and your safety are important to you this is not the center for you. They often do not have a member of staff on duty. That means no one maintaining the cleanliness of the club or monitoring who is coming and going through the front door. And what if there should be an accident or injury? It appears that the homeless people who camp out nearby are allowed in the club to shower and do their laundry in the sinks and showers. Since this is the case, there should be more of an effort to clean the showers and dressing rooms more frequently. There is not. The exterior of the center is very dark at night. There is no parking lot lighting and the sign on the front of the building does not light up until very late at night. It is common to be approached by people in the parking lot asking for money. I only used this club for a couple of weeks while I was in town on business. I was fearful of walking to and from my car or God forbid having to use the facilities. Do not go to this planet fitness they are not honorable people, I have not been to the gym since the lock down from COVID-19, I noticed that they charged their annual fee and when I went I. To ask them to refund the fee and cancel my account as I was not planning on going anytime soon management told me that they would not refund the fee because it had already been charged. I explained that I am highly susceptible to COVID and could not risk being at the gym. The acting manager Michelle still refused to do anything, when I asked to speak to someone higher she let me know that they would tell me the same thing and there was nothing she could do. If this is the way they treat their members I will find another gym when I feel comfortable going back to the gym. read more

I joined this gym because it looked clean and they had the equipment I like the use... but I especially like the red light for muscle repair and treatment and no one here knows how to use it. I have this stupid black card and no one is ever available who actually knows how to turn anything on.. they have one manager that oversees 2 other gyms and I have not seen him here once ... when you do ask staff a question some are nice and some are so bothered by you ... I don't want to bother anyone I can read I hit every button in the stupid machine and it won't come on and they have zero available staff ... I would rather pay 120 per month at life time fitness then to ever return here read more

This gym is brand new, opened a couple of weeks ago on the corner of Cortez and US 41 in Bradenton (behind the Bob Evans restaurant, to the right of Books-A-Million). Went in for a test drive and my impression is that it is a nice gym conveniently located and open 24 hours a day. They don't give you a hard sell and I asked for a complimentary visit to try the gym (they have a guest pass on their website but I had printer issues) and they were happy to let me wander around and check it out. There are two basic memberships- both have a $39 enrollment fee, then either $10 a month or $21.99 (Black Card) for a membership that allows you to visit any other Planet Fitness. I was committed to the $10 membership until trying the hydro massage chair. Wow, that experience is worth the extra $10 a month. Make sure to check out the Black Card area when you visit. The front desk agent showing me around was very accommodating in letting me try out the chairs and see the tanning area (not interested in that, but they have several tanning rooms if you are interested). The massage chairs (both a hydro type and the type you see at airports) are in a separate 'Black Card' area. The $10 membership is no commitment, the Black Card membership is a 12 month commitment. The motto of this gym is 'no judgement' and people of all sizes, ages and fitness levels are welcome. There is a separate corral area in the back to do a 30 minute circuit visit. There are also rows and rows of treadmills, stair steppers and free weights. The changing area was very clean and pleasant. If you have been thinking of joining a gym for a while like I have, you really can't beat the $10 basic membership. Especially when it is 24 hours so there is no excuse not to drag yourself there once you join. Lots of free parking with easy access in or out. read more

Tried to cancel my daughter's membership since she is away at college and hasn't used it in months and of course it's a fiasco where they can't just do it online or over the phone it has to be done in person. Absolute nightmare of an experience. Joined while on vacation (from out of state) and was told I could cancel after the vacation was over for no fee besides the one time monthly fee. This gym never explained any of the cancellation policies or rules until I was already charged and billed. After finding this out the cancellation rules out for myself, I sent my certified letter (an additional $7 just to cancel) in was post marked before the beginning of the next month. This gym still proceeded to charge me the annual fee, which I was also uninformed of. One staff member told me I would be compensated for the annual fee since my letter was post marked before the next month & that a manager would call me the following day. I never received a call. I then proceeded to call and speak with a polite staff member followed by the manager who was rather short and complete misunderstanding as well. Overall, the gym was clean but the staff is lacking. They do not tell you all the details upfront when joining and also fail to follow up with what they say they are going to do. Personally, I feel this is a direct reflection of the management, which I believe is completely mismanaged. If I could do it over again, I would not join Planet Fitness at all due to all the stipulations and misinformed regulations & fees. Very disappointed. read more

New new new, excellent location, bright, new updated equipment, never wait for access, locker rooms clean, staff has very helpful attitude, open 24/7. So much like my home club it's a must see black tie area, very high tech. Only thing to add would be the crazy machine clean method, there are a lot of paper and spray stations, but prefer real cloth method, then laundered. read more

Staff is more than willing to help in any way and go the extra mile. An abundance of machines. lockers, and amenities only found at High-End Gyms (and I've been to so many across the country).
