At the time of this review, Nothing. Theres is nothing negative about this location. Is spacious, is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment has been renewed, shower rooms are clean, mirrors clean and the staff goes around to re-rack the weights. It for sure looks like the manager reads the reviews as many things have been addressed like previous nasty staff, old machines, etc. Despite its location this is one of the best Planet Fitness. I've never felt so uncomfortable at a gym. Every time I come here, I'm made to feel as if I don't belong here. People will block machines while not using them, and dare I ask to use the machine they're blocking, I get an attitude. And it's ridiculously clear why I'm treated this way here. Also, gym-goers will occupy a machine in the circuit workout and talk on their phones, blocking the entire purpose of the circuit and none of the staff will ever inform them if the purpose of the circuit workout. I asked one woman who was just sitting around on a machine if I can use it and she told me that there's a similar machine at the other end of the gym. NO $#!* Sherlock! My experience as of Monday, December 7, 2020 7:00 a.m.-8:00 a.m. # of staff/ general description: 2, one female (blonde) one male (locs) I find the morning staff (6AM-8AM) and member service at this location wildly unpredictable. Their COVID-tracing practices are not consistent. One male employee with locs holds members accountable to signing in, the blonde female employee picks and chooses who she asks to sign in, while the other female seems bothered to be spoken to at all. During this time, it's great to have access to a gym. However, PF needs to upgrades its quality of employees, training and communication protocols. I have been attending this gym on and off since it opened in 2013 and I am wholly unimpressed and a bit dissatisfied with how PF manages its employees. On January 25,2023 approximately 636am While I was checking in at the Planet Fitness at 946 Pennsylvania Ave, Brooklyn NY location. Staff Dawn verbal and sexual harrassment came to a head. I explained to her I'm not interested in any relationship with her and that I just wanted to workout. She said that" If you don't take my number I'm going to call the police on you, and say I feel uncomfortable". I just walk away and started my workout. I been coming to this location since last year with no issues. Since Staff Dawn been working here a month or so her sexual harassment has made me feel some type of way. Every time she works, Staff Dawn would look at me like I was a piece of meat. With her lustful eyes telling me how good I looked. And that she wanted me to take her out.She always wanted to take a picture. I declined because I explained that I felt uncomfortable about photos. She never explained why she wanted me to take photos and I didn't know what she would do with the photos due to her prior behavior toward me. By her being a white female and I'm a black male I didn't want no issues. She started yelling" I'm going to call the police on you! While my peers looked in shocked. I felt humiliated and embarrassed. I went to the bathroom than started my workout. While I was working out 2 police officers approached me and told me that the Staff Dawn said "she felt uncomfortable with me being there and she wanted me to leave". This Planet Fitness is so unprofessional with poor front desk customer service. They give you the run around for months and don't return you call, provide misinformation, place you on hold for a long time, hang up on you, never pick up the phone and don't correct errors that they create on your account. At one point they referred me to a manager that was never onsite!!! So disappointed in the staff and managers Cyril, Vickie and Betty-Gen Mgr). First time to this PF location and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This gym is one level. All the machines were nicely spaced out. There we multiples of the popular machines. The 30 minute workout section was nicely setup at the side of the gym. The staff is okay. They could be a tad bit friendly. Locker room was spacious and clean. I went to this location this morning and I was truly disappointed. I worked out on the elliptical for thirty minutes and went to opposite sides of the room to look for paper towels and the spray bottle to wipe down the machine I was on. This is a great location. Not very convenient without a car but if you live in the area (or you drive) you will like this location a lot. Clean, good staff... PROS 1) Brand new location so the machines are in perfect working order. 2) Friendly staff that greet you warmly coming and going. 3) Very clean locker rooms and haven't had issues with locker availability. 4) Same with every PF location, the price cannot be beat. CONS 1) Not very close to the train. (which in some ways is a PRO because you won`t get much over crowding) Very happy.. I use to go to the location on Wyckoff Ave, that location gets packed to the rafters during peak hours.. Mostly hipsters posting on FB & IG about the workout... Very annoying. Planet Inconsiderate I have 250+ workouts at this particular facility. I'm what you might consider an authority figure up in this PF. The facility The most coveted piece of equipment in the entire gym is the Smith machine. There are four of 'em compared to an ocean of treadmills and elliptical machines. The male restroom sinks and mirrors are usually grimy along with the floor always needing to be mopped. The four showers are repulsive and I'm astonished when I see someone actually utilize one without donning a biohazard suit first. Some of the lockers are damaged in a way that prevents the locker from being secured with a lock. A few of the lockers are scummy or riddled with random trash from preexisting occupants. There have been machines out of service for several weeks at a time. The WiFi, however, is fast and will maintain consistent connectivity. The patrons Keep in mind the gym's proximity to tha projects, a liquor store, a Rainbow, etc...to understand the mindset of the subhuman entities that frequent this gym. I hope time is not of the essence to you, because I have witnessed inconsiderate persons monopolize a Smith machine for hours knowing full well that myself or others may be waiting. Prepare to go on scavenger hunts to locate mats, metal bars and dumbbells, for reracking the weight after use is virtually nonexistent. Expect weights to be slammed incessantly, even by the regulars who "should" have better gym etiquette. You will invariably encounter situations where someone will modify the decline bench to increase the angle and upon finishing--will simply walk away. There are two signs that read: "No personal training of any kind allowed." It isn't a deterrent to the uncertified folks that partake in the personal training hustle. The employees will see it and elect not to enforce the policy. The employees 70% of the staff is under 25 years of age and are naturally incompetent, unprofessional and will use obscene language while conversing among themselves with no qualms about who might overhear. Oftentimes the spray bottles are bone dry or the paper towels are loaded improperly into a dispenser causing issues. I asked front desk for permission to charge my AirPods there(to prevent someone from stealing them). She agreed. Two minutes later the employee said, "Hi, I got in trouble by my manager, sorry" as she handed the headphones back to me. I asked if my daughter could sit up front while I trained and the manager on duty said no despite my observations of other children during previous visits which illustrates the selective pettiness masquerading as policy one has to deal with when coming here. If you're serious about fitness and/or short on time, perhaps another gym should be considered. read more

I recently rejoined PF as I got tired of all the issues my previous gym had. I was a bit skeptical that I would encounter the same reasons I left my previous PF membership. Fortunately for me, I have not encountered those problems. The staff for the mod part greet you and bid you a farewell, and are constantly moving around cleaning. I enjoy working out early mornings as it is not crowded and I can get my whole routine in without a problem. When I go after work I leave it to strictly cardio as the weight area is always crowded. read more

I went the Pennslyvania Ave Planet Fitness gym twice since it reopened but I will not be returning since they are not doing everything possible to keep me and all their guest safe from COVID-19. The staff have not been given thermometers to check their guests' temperature when they enter the gym. When I asked about the thermometers I was told they are not required. Really!! They are not required but they highly recommended by health officials. Planet Fitness management why don't you think you should do everything possible to keep your guest and your staff safe??? I'm a black card member and typically love coming to this PF. The layout is excellent, bathroom is clean and I normally receive great customer service BUT yesterday evening (12/2/16), I arrived at the gym around 8:45pm. I am fully aware this PF closes at 10pm on Friday. Well, as I was getting off one cardio machine to the next one around 9:30pm, I happen to look at the lady at member services. She looked at me as to why am I getting on another machine at this time. Then at approximately 9:45pm, another employee decided to shut all the TV's off. When I left at 9:55pm, I looked at the lady at member services. She gave me a mean look as I said goodnight to her. I thought that was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I love this gym! Staff is kind and helpful, equipment in excellent shape, very clean locker and restroom/shower (this is a huge deal for me). In fact, I will see staff constantly going around cleaning. I love that so much! Yes, the cleaning supplies are not right in front of us but it's a gym--what's a few more steps to go to the cleaning supplies! I love the "Avoid the crowd" paper so I know when it will be the best time for me to go. The layout is perfect! I have seen other planet fitness layouts and they look--odd but the layout at this location is perfect to me. The only problem that I have had was going on a holiday when the website said it was open and when arriving there it was closed but it wasn't really a big deal. And if they would like to cancel, or Continue the Membership.When to them to cancel my member ship. Because they charge my account today $82. I Explain an took medical records on the reason i haven't used my member ship. Spoke with one of the employee, who inform me, that do to my medical situation. The manager would give me a refund on the Year that they have been charging and on Annual renewal . Well to make a story short, I was charge over $400 dollares plus $82 today on a member ship.. they requested doctors letter/attorney letter. I had a membership for a year and I enjoyed this planet fitness so much compared to the Carnasie location. The staff was courteous, the floor and bathroom was cleaned at all times, and so was the massage chairs. Plus there was plenty of machines, but they weren't squished up against each other. Overall I will be coming back once I get another membership. read more
