This is the absolute worst planet fitness in this area. It is regretfully the one that is closest to me, but I drive an extra 10 minutes just to go to a different one. Here's why... To start, the men's room in this facility is absolutely freezing! When you walk into the entrance of the men's room, you get blasted with cold air. I'm not saying it gets a little bit colder. I am talking such a huge temperature difference. that it shocks your body when you first go into the men's room. HUGE temperature drop! I like to shower after my workouts, and I can't do it there. It is so cold in the bathroom that you are freezing when you're taking a shower, no matter how hot you make the water. There's just all that cold air around you blasting onto you. Next, the facility is not maintained. The biggest shower, which of course people prefer, has been broken for over a year. All it pumps out is hot water, like scalding hot. You can't shower in it. The staff are all aware of it, they've acknowledged it, but they say that their maintenance man "just hasn't taken care of it yet, but is aware of it." They have been "aware of it" for at least a year now, I'm pretty sure longer than that. The third issue with this facility isn't a maintenance issue, it's the people that go there. There are a few different groups of people that go there and just camp out on the Smith machines. They don't even work out hardly at all. They will do a set like every five or six minutes between 3-5 of them. So, maybe they get in one set every like 20 to 30 minutes, if that. They just hang out to socialize with each other and there are a few different groups that do this. It makes it near impossible to get any of the Smith machines during the busiest time of the afternoon after work. It would be one thing if they are actually working out, but I am dead serious about how little they do. I actually timed it on my phone at one point, there were five of them, and one of them would do a set about every five minutes. That means each of them is doing one set about every half hour!!! I have come and left and watched the same two groups of people on the Smith machine the entire time I was there. Zero consideration for the people who actually want to work out. I have been to a few different facilities around Tampa Bay since I have the black card pass. All four of the other locations I have been to in the Tampa bay area are better than this one. Less crowded, not freezing in the men's room, the showers actually work, etc. I strongly advise avoiding this one, even if you have a little bit further of a drive to go to one of the other ones. read more

The app has NO OPTION for SUPPORT - or contact us, and the front desk personnel have no authority so they pass it off. Love this place. 6 days a week, just a little growth and maintenance. The staff is professional but James always has a smile. Equipment is in top shape and everyone cleans up after themselves. No one really bothers anyone else but I can always count on James for a friendly chat or some advice. read more

Very disappointed in the changes over the past year at local Planet Fitness locations in Clearwater & Palm Harbor. They caved to PC culture and no longer allow National News in fear of "offending someone". Many of us working class and most retirees---about 90% of people there--- prefer to watch the news on there 20-45min of treadmill time. "Grown-ups" know how to change the station without a tantrum. I've asked repeatedly with the canned response "sorry...they're all preset" yet for 3 glorious days last week a REAL news station miraculously returned only to be replaced by yet a 3rd screen, 3/12, with non-offensive ESPN. I'll be going elsewhere so not to be treated like a child. read more

I really like this gym. I've never liked going to the gym (and don't go consistently), but the environment here make it easy to go. The employees I've met when scanning my tag to come in are always nice. There are usually a reasonable people to machines ratio so it doesn't feel overcrowded and I'm able to do the workouts I want. And even though I don't workout often, I never feel like I'm out of place. read more

Nice location. A little bit dark at night. Staffs are welcoming and friendly. However, I accidentally dropped a 5lbs weight on my toe and all I asked for was a bandage and they didn't even have one. We have (or had) the black membership so we could use any club in the United States. Comparing other other locations nationwide, this club is by far the worst club. So much so, we decided to cancel our membership today. When I get the cancellation documents via email, the staff member put that we hardly use the club....UMMM.. we go there over 5 days a week. Equipment is not fixed. Reported issues are ignored. The front desk staff member was EXTREMELY rude this morning to the point I just told him to cancel our memberships. I tried to talk to him and make him understand that one of the hydro beds was not working right, and he keeps sending people to it. They complain, he ignores them. He told me there is a way to override it and if you cant figure it out yourself then ask. We have seen this club go downhill. Dirty, broken or worn equipment, rude staff. Nothing like it was a year ago. Update: To respond to the comment below...the manager has been spoken to by us and other people. She has a I am wonderful and you are not attitude. Been going to this location since it opened. Have lots of employee turnover...but that's the nature of this business. Plus it's hard to find employees with a good work ethic in Florida. The equipment is well maintained as is the facility. The only time a staff member talks to you is coming in and maybe on the way out. I's suggest some customer service training: 1- It's good to be friendly with patrons outside of check-in. Ask how their workout is today. Ask if they're having any issues with equipment..Note: some of the equipment with TV access... the TV access does not work well. 2- Provide a Suggestion Box where patrons could leave a message about a problem machine or piece of equipment. 3- I'd like to see a healthy food option when you have Free Pizza or other food incentives. Your a Fitness Club so offer a healthy option. Simple humus with veggies, or fruit which is very inexpensive in FL. 4- Send out emails congratulating those workout very regularly ... encouraging them and thanking them for their loyalty... It's called Appreciation Marketing.... In a business that needs long term satisfied customers ... this is an easy inexpensive procedure and in fact there is software that can do it automatically. I can say with 100% confidence that I am not getting COVID at this gym because of how much they clean. Not only do you see people cleaning the entire time you're working out, but I also had to update my account and the front desk was knowledgeable and nice. I've been to many Planet Fitnesses and have had memberships in 3 different states. However I have had the worst customer service at this location and interacted with some awfully rude people here. I've never gotten responses to any emails (I work 3 jobs so it's hard to call during regular business hours) and the rare times I do call for questions about my account or charges no one seems to know what's going on and very rudely usher me off the phone. Hate the people here...or at least the people I've had the unfortunate opportunity to interact with. Goodbye Planet Fitness and a big screw you. read more

I was up for my renewal annual fee. I went into the "home store" that I had been going to, canceled my account as I no longer lived in the area. They had it in writing, the employee that was at the counter signed the acknowledgement that I was canceling my account and said that he would get with the manager about it and that he would make a note in my account. They have now withdrawn $41.73 for the annual fee from my account which overdrew my account. When I called to talk to the manager she said that there was nothing that they could do. When I explained exactly what happened that day with the employee even the date and the time she is refusing to cancel my account and refund the money that I was charged, said that all her employees know what they are doing and there was no note of this on my account. Instead of providing good customer service and refunding my money and investigating the issue with her employees said there was nothing that she was going to do. This fitness club is a joke and screws over their members with fraudulent charges. read more

My first experience with Planet Fitness was in Texas and I loved it! PF are franchised so don't expect the same customer service everywhere OR the same bang for your buck. Based on my experience in Texas, I figured I'd be satisfied here too- and that was unfortunately not the case. I am in town with a group of about 60 military families for the month from Key West and was excited to find a place to workout other than the hotel. In Texas a 24 hour pass gets you use of the spa, tanning, and the gym! Well worth the $20 a day~ which I paid daily for a week! When I asked the young girl at the front desk here, she informed me that the day pass only included the gym, but she would ask her manager if a day pass could be bought for tanning for an additional fee. Apparently it could not. Even if I bought a month membership, they would not add tanning unless I made a year long commitment. Unfortunately there is no Planet Fitness within 3 hours of my house so this isn't an option. The manager never even came out of the office, only relaying messages through his front desk girl, who didn't have authority to make any decisions. Sorry planet fitness, you dropped the ball on this one. Way to look out for active duty displaced military and their families. I'll spend my money at anytime fitness this week or drive to McDill for a workout. Highly disappointed. read more

I've only been at this club a short while and have to write I have all but one positive. Staff is great, classes are well instructed and equipment is the best. If I had only one change to recommend it would be the black membership. I'm a $10 month to month white membership with only access to one club. I'd get the black if it was either less money or didn't have such a great penalty for quitting. I float between three locations, this has a PF close, another location has one 20 miles from it and the third has none. read more

First time here last Sunday around 2. Few people were there, may be different on weekdays. They checked out my number, then made me sign a roster since my home gym is the St Pete location. Never had to sign when visiting other locations across Florida. Huge parking lot on north side of quiet strip mall, on a side street that's a delight to get in and out of. US 19 overpass across the street so hop on the highway immediately. This gym is just as big as the main one in St Pete, long rows of treadmills and stationary bicycles flanked by other equipment. Large weightlifting area. Bathroom was spotless. What, no soap? I can live with that. read more

I write this review to offer the staff some suggestions for improving their customer service skills. Let's start with the pros: facility is great -- new equipment, well maintained, clean environment. This location is close to our home and my husband and I go together 3-4 times a week. There were some initial issues with the plumbing in the women's restroom, but after numerous visits by a plumber, the problems appear to have been resolved. However, on one occasion while the plumber was there, I really needed to use the bathroom. When I asked the manager for an alternative, he was not very helpful -- no offer to use another bathroom such as the one for employees or to have an escort to use the men's room. The manager and majority of the staff seem very introverted and hardly speak to customers. Killian is the only staff member that is truly pleasant, outgoing, with good people skills. If you want to grow membership and engage members in a positive way, I would strongly recommend some customer service training, especially for the manager! Today, I borrowed a chair from inside the facility to sit outside in the sun. I had previously asked a staff member could I do so and was told yes. However, today the manager (I think his name is Johnny) approached me and said it is "against policy" to use the chairs outside. I was leaving shortly, so I I stated I would put the chair back in just a few minutes and he insisted that it had to be NOW. Such controlling behavior seemed very ridiculous but I gave him the chair. Really, is it worth alienating a customer just to get your own way?!? To sum up, great facility, but the staff really needs training in customer service!!!!! read more
