At the moment the splash pad is down so I don't have a reference on the pool but hope its a nice get away for us when the winter blues come around. There are 10 YMCAs in the Omaha Metro area. This is the closest one to where we live. It's the smallest center with the most members. Might be time for new management.

The building is large and not really set up for a gym as far as I could tell. Maybe this building is also some sort of school? There seemed to be lots of classrooms. When I found the weight room it was overall a good experience. There were 3 stair masters--I took the 3rd and last available. There were 2 squat racks--I took the last available. There were still plenty of open machines, but nothing compared to what I'm used to. The walking track is the biggest downside by fair in my opinion. There is about a 6" slope from one side to the other width-wise at one point which is not only inconvenient, but very dangerous in my opinion! I opted to get my steps outside, but there were plenty of treadmills available. The locker rooms looked fine although I didn't use them, I saw several options while wandering around looking for the gym. The front desk attendant was very kind in helping me find my way, I was very thankful they have someone on staff for this reason! I also wish there would have been free parking and sweat towels for use, as I am used to these things, but this may just be at my location. Overall I would definitely come back in a pinch, but will probably try a different location next time I'm in Omaha.

The trainer, Colin Gable, took his time with an interview and listened to what I wanted to achieve. During my hour-long sessions twice a week, he explains each exercise and always demonstrates them first. He adjust the machines, steps and other equipment exactly for my smaller frame. He is punctual and never leaves me during a session. He keeps accurate records so I know where we are on this journey to be the best version of me. On St Patrick 's Day of 2024, I did the 144 steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, famous for"Rocky Steps" . In early May, 2024, I had my annual physical. I had lost 18 pounds and my BMI had decreased over 3 points. My knees seldom hurt and I haven't worn a kneebrace since last November. I moved to Omaha without knowing anyone and I was unfamiliar with the city. Then I discovered Ambrust YMCA in my neighborhood. I feel a sense of belonging and my trainer has made it successful and fun. The money, time and energy I have invested in this venture has been life changing for the better.
