I decided to get a membership to Planet Fitness to add weights to my home workout regimen. I had a membership that I canceled when the pandemic started. I figured if I went early in the am there wouldn't be many people, and I could work out comfortably without a mask. The young man working the front was extremely polite. Throughout my workout , I did see him cleaning the machines! Everything was in place and the gym was in immaculate condition! I see that the cardio machines were upgraded since the last time I was a member. Planet Fitness is definitely a great bang for your buck! Ridiculed and Judged in several instances by several staff members over several weeks; lectured at the same time for a health situation that I bear that should be understood, not lectured about. Their logo of 'no judgement' ( their misspelling) is totally false. When I reported these incidents to management, I was promised a call from the manager, and that never happened. There is a clause in their company Statement about not harassing any person for physical conditions, and that staff 'cannot give medical advice', yet I got lectured, unsolicited several times. I did not need this and it only upset me in what was supposed to be, in their terms, 'a safe and comfortable environment' for all members. I do NOT recommend this gym. It is not dependable despite their promises. I have had it validated by numerous business owners that their treatment of me has been despicable and should be reported. Just when you think the owners of this planet fitness couldn't make any more terrible business decisions, they surprise me again. So they had a great thing with life fitness and cybex, machines were diverse. Bikes were nice, cardio was nice. But then they made a horrible decision to bring in matrix machines. Not only that they replaced the ellipticals with maybe 40 machines that are virtually identical. While they look different they are the same arc. Which is just bad. I used to come here because they had my favorite cardio machine the cybex arc trainer. And as I'm here right now I'm questioning why I'm here. Convenience post surgery and can't lift weights? Unprofessional staff, Not happy at all about our experience in this club. They need to hire better management as well as other staff. I was in your club on Loretta and Grant with my 13 year old grandson. When we signed up weeks ago he was in Crocs, the employee let him work out that day. He has worn Crocs every time since. He was told today it is against the dress code. OK. This very young kid working there came over to tell him, But when we looked up at the desk, several 5 or 6 employees were staring at us and giggling. Apparently us being kicked out was the highlight of their day.  We left and I came back in to argue the point that your dress code is very vague, many nurses wear Crocs. If this is in fact your dress code, ok no problem. But... The black manager was ok at least she was semi- professional. The assistant manager was smug and I told her I asked to speak to A manager not "managers" and she would not stop. I felt ganged up on, and the other 4 or 5 employees behind were still staring and giggling.   If a manager discreetly came up and spoke to him, I would not be angry. My grandson is so embarrassed and does not want to go back.  This could have been handled by your staff much better and you would not have an angry customer right now.  I respect dress codes. But your staff at that store is disrespectful and lacks the ability to deal with customers. To look over and see them looking right at us and laughing is something I don't think my grandson nor I will forget.  There were 6 or 7 employees at the front desk. All doing NOTHING but staring and laughing. This must have been the highlight of their day to humiliate a kid.  Bullies. The exact opposite of what Planet Fitness pretends to be. I've been here for a few months since my other gym closed down because of the pandemic. Good business hours, employees here are helpful. They currently have a special promotion for high schoolers. Well, THAT was disappointing. Having recently lost 67 pounds, I wanted to join a gym & stopped by the Local PF in Tomball for a tour. The gal at the desk asked me to wear a mask, although she said they were not needed while working out. Even though I have not donned a mask since the covid thing hit,, I had one in my pocket, so I put it on. She explained the layout & how things worked, after which I walked around on my own checking things out. Half way thru my walk around, I got light headed (I am 67, and cannot get enough air thru the masks. I took the mask off and went back to the front to join. The front desk clerk would not take my membership unless I put a mask on. Mind you, there were several people that came in & stood around the entry area while I was there (they were waiting for tanning beds...) without masks.... but she could not take my cedit card without a mask. For a "Non Judgemental" place.... she was pretty judgemental. But, I guess, PF has more members than they need... read more

I have NEVER written a bad review in my life but I have a lot to say about this specific location and I am here to warn you guys. This used to be my go to planet fitness but as of recently, the environment has changed a lot. Equipment is always broken, the restrooms are disgusting, water foundations never work, and the staff is HORRIBLE. They're seriously run down but the worst thing that hurts is that they are stealing from single mothers, minorities, people who make the minimum. It's sad, it's pretty bad because they don't care for human beings period. And supposedly their gym is all about no-nonsense when it comes to that. If I could rate this place zero stars I would. I don't even know where to start. As soon as you walk in, it smells like piss. Machines are always broken and the treadmills randomly stop in the middle of my workouts. Staff isn't helpful at all. Nothing but high school kids working there. I wanna start by saying the management here at the Louetta location is fantastic and always willing to go out out their way to help. The GM Andrew and Assistant Manager Nolan are great people and hard workers. The trainer of the gym, Joe is an outstanding trainer and knows exactly what he's talking about. This place is rude and doesn't care for their customers. I went in to cancel mine and my daughters membership 4 months ago, but only could cancel mine. I explained my daughter goes to college out of town, and that she was under 19 when I signed her up, plus it was on my card. Britney didn't care and stated she is the highest person within the company I could talk to, and her answer was final. My daughter finally made it in town, and drove up to the location to cancel, but was told since they already started the billing cycle I would be charged again. The funny part is I'm not suppose to be charged till the 17th. When I explained how I have been paying the last 4 months, as well as the yearly maintenance fee, Britney laughed and reminded me again she is the highest person within the company I could talk to. They couldn't fix it and just credit me??? Beware giving this place your credit card, because according to Brittny, they will charge you, and there not a thing you can do about it. I joined a few months ago and find this gym decent enough. However, while I was running on a treadmill two middle aged ladies began their walking workout next to me which is absolutely fine except they kept taking so loudly to each other - the max volume on my headphones couldn't block out their yaking! Good news. The management sent an announcement that this location is moving to a 24/7 format. They also did a remodeling of the facility several months ago although I don't think it made much of a difference. We did have one issue where another member there didn't get the memo on PF's focus on courtesy and not being judgmental and behaved like an ass to us. We notified the manager and left, our workout ruined for the day. The manager said he'd talk to the jerk but we didn't stick around to find out. That knucklehead's existence isn't the facility's fault but just thought I'd share a heads-up with you. read more

I am really happy with this place and you can't beat the price. It is a no frills, no classes, no pool, basic, solid gym, which works just fine for me. They have a lot of cardio machines, free weights, strength training machines and a circuit area, as well as tanning booths (haven't tried those yet). The staff is great and it has never been over crowded when I've gone. Also, I have never felt uncomfortable-I believe they and the patrons stick to the no judgment motto. At first I was just going to let it go, but this is the second time this week I've had a bad experience from planet fitness and it was two different locations. So I will be writing a review on the other location after this. I went in early this morning and DYLAN thought it was a good idea to watch me for about a good 30 minutes and approach me about my bag when I decided to go to another machine in the midst of my workout. I understand policy , but what I don't understand is somebody in my space with a messed up attitude attempting to speak to me as if I'm a child. He should probably watch his tone with people and how he tries to handle them because I'm not the one. If I could post the recordings on here I would, but I'll get them to the right individuals. Seems to me planet fitness just hires anybody. I might have to cancel my membership for the second time. Thank god I still have my membership at fitness connection. UPDATE: So I decided to go look at more reviews of this location because I've never had issues here. Guess what, more reviews on this location having employees with bad attitudes and being racist. Clean clean clean! I love a clean gym! I'm really happy with my membership to Plant Fitness. I'm really impressed with all the different equipment they have. Just about everything you need to do many different workouts. You don't have to do the same workout twice with all the machines they have. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can bring a friend with your membership every time you workout. Membership compared to other gyms is cheep. To me it's a discount gym price but definitely not a discount gym. read more

I usually enjoy going to this location but the workers who work the night shift from 8pm-10pm are pretty rude. I needed help with something and they all just stood their talking to each other. The Cypress location is nice, clean, and renovated, however, it is small. I prefer to go to the gym late at night when it's practically a ghost town because I can choose whatever equipment without having to wait on other people. Also, I like to do recordings so that I can go back and look at my form. I know that some people don't feel comfortable when a camera is being whipped out. So that's that. I came in after midnight and there was absolutely no one there. It was President's day and the location opened its doors at midnight. After I checked in, I began to walk towards the cable machine with my gym bag. The guy working there said I wasn't allowed to have my gym bag and to put it in a locker because it was a safety reason. First of all, I was the only one in the gym. 2nd of all.... I had my cable attachment, hip thruster pad, shaker bottle, protein, and water bottle in my gym bag. Was I supposed to just carry all those items?? It's just not practical. And I'm not about to keep going back and forth to the locker room to take out things I need as I go. This is the closest location to me, however, I'd rather go to the Tomball location even though it's a little bit farther from my house. I worked out at this gym for the first time yesterday. I'm going to become a regular member the best I can (at least a few times a week)! I have been searching for years for a nearby gym that offers everything I need (with a few extras thrown in) that's affordable and this place is definitely it! I'm paying $20 a month ($0 entrance fee) for usage of all the gym equipment, I can bring a guest whenever I want (one per day only though), free tanning, free massage chairs, free locker room usage, and you can make appointments with the trainers for free (30 min - 1 hour). WOW huh?! I almost feel like I'm ripping them off! But...the thing is, that deal ended July 15th, so I don't know how much it is now. It couldn't be much more though. The only tiny negatives I have to say about this gym is that their lockers don't come with locks so you have to bring your own. And there aren't very many locations. I think there's only 3 in the Houston area total. read more

Planet Fitness bills itself as a judgment free zone. A gym without the meat heads. For the most part this is true. While occasionally there might be a few high school football players admiring each other physiques; most patrons are there to get their work in. There are plenty of machines, ellipticals, bikes, treadmills and free weights. This gym is clean and in a good place for those that want to avoid the stereotypical gym. Lockers are available (bring a lock). Bring your own towel or use the paper towels supplied to wipe down the equipment. As you might expect, peak time is around 5pm on weekdays. Sunday mornings are light due to the church going crowd not being there. There are TVs set up in front of the treadmills and ellipticals so bring your headphones if you want to listen in. Not all locations are the same but at the black card membership you can attend any location which is really nice if you are looking for something one location doesn't have. The staff is really nice and this location just turned 24 hrs 5/7! It can be missed because it's in a small trip center in-between a Ace hardware and a Goodwill but it is still a nice location. The place is good and the staff wears masks but they don't ask others to wear mask or pay attention to the gym floor. Many people are starting to walk around without masks and not cleaning their machines. I asked someone to clean after they use it and that we're supposed to wear a mask when we walk around and he kept doing his thing without a mask or cleaning. This gym is better than, 24 fitness, la fitness and fitness Connection. You don't feel intimidated, and you don't get judge by some juice head. The staff is friendly and detailed when explaining they're membership plans. For what it's worth you get more bang for your buck than you would at these higher priced gyms. read more
