All I can say is this gym is not for you to bring your kids to because it isn't appropriate. I seen lately so many of these girls in there with these but lifting leggings and if that wasn't enough they now are wearing it so tight that you can see the slit in the front too, like their vee jays are munching on the leggings. They want attention, usually wearing blue or green leggings, makeup and some of them even are showing cleavage. It's annoying especially if you have young daughters who don't need to be around disgraces like that. They usually are at squat machines or bending down in an exaggerated way by cable machines constantly, all the ones that wear these clothes do the same thing. They need to have a dress code and none of that allowed to show. How would they like it if as a guy, I walked in with tights and the outline of my tip was showing? It's not ok and it isn't ok for the girls either. Do something about it because many are sick of seeing it. This gym has a bunch of old locals that think they own the gym. They like to do a lot of talking and yapping between sets to catch up on daily gossip and brag to each other. A lot of self entitlement going on in the gym. They think they have more right to use the equipment than the next person and will shake their heads with indignation and stomp away mad if you tell them you are using the machine. The gym itself is ok, they need to control the temperature better. When its hot outside the gym gets too warm and when it was cold recently the gym was cold inside and they still had the ceiling fans on at low speeds. They need to keep the gym at 70 degrees. Even ACSM recommends temperature of 68-72. Besides this the gym is good and you can get a good workout. The machines arent new at all, but they still function and get the job done. They have good freeweight selection and smaller weights in ab area so its not a bad gym, just some of the people make it annoying. read more

Shithole club. Everything is falling apart. Mats on the ground are bubbling up causing people to trip. Many many safety and liability issues throughout. Every treadmill skips. This was brought to the club managers attention multiple times, he just smiled and clearly didn't care. Speaking about Jon the GM, I distinctly recall him telling me he belonged to a real gym. Classy. Waste of space on every regard. And for the love of God, Please don't reply with your typical bs response "please speak to your club manager" , Planet. This is just lazy and sloppy. Ive joined this location about 6 months ago. I was really excited about it. However the same 6 mont period I have been in and out of the state. I have visited several other planet fitness locations and by far this is the worse. At other locations I've watched their employees interact with the quest as well as take pride in the cleanliness of their location. Most importantly their restroom and locker rooms were clean As well as their stand up tanning. But here in Daphne the employees are always on the phone, the restrooms is filthy and god forbid you tell them ( politely) that they are out of paper towels and it's the end of the world. The floors of the stand up tanning are borderline black, the toilets and urinals have hair, crap and just plan dirty all over them. The trainer only speaks with his friends and cute girls. If it wasn't for the fact I live only a mile away I would definitely switch to another club. read more

Planet Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Daphne, Alabama

I've been to Planet Fitness a handful of times while visiting my parents. I can't speak to the full membership benefits, but I like that there are drop-in option available. For only $10 (the franchise has increased this price from $5), you can get 24-hour access to the facility. I've been able to "double dip" by going twice in the same period, so the price balances out. They also are open 24 hours from Monday thru Friday, so that is pretty convenient! What I like about Planet Fitness is its core value proposition, a judgement-free zone. When you walk in, there is someone at the front to greet you and check you in. After that, you're free to go exercise! The front part of the gym contains cardio machines, such as stationary bicycles, treadmills, and stair steppers. Note there is not a cardio rowing machine, which I was a little bummed about. All cardio machines have controls to listen in to the television hanging off the ceiling, with a variety of options to choose from. Beside cardio machines are strength machines heavily labelled, which is super helpful if you're new to the gym. Like most strength machines, there is signage demonstrating how to properly use it and which muscles they work. Everything is adjustable for different body types. There's a zone I'm not familiar with, but I believe it's an express workout area. Beside it is an area designated for abs. I like it because there are also mats for floor exercises and medicine balls. Next to the ab area, there's the free weight area. I was surprised that the squat and bench rack were assisted, meaning it's not exactly a "free" weight. On the bright side, if the weight is getting heavy, you can rotate the bar to safely place it back into the rack. There are only a couple of these machines. There's also adjustable cable weight machines and many grips you can swap out to work the muscles you want to focus on in this area. One of my favorite machines is a hidden gem in the corner, an assisted chin up and dip machine. When I first visited this gym, I didn't know it existed because it was up against the wall at the back of the gym. The equipment itself is in good condition and looks like it's well taken care of. Some other gyms I've been to have cushioning falling apart and really looks worn. This Planet Fitness appears to take pride in their equipment. Remember your first kiss back when you were 14, and you both had braces? That's pretty much how I feel at the gym - clumsy, uncoordinated, ridiculously awkward, and occasionally getting caught up in something that I have to pry myself out of. My son has been going to PF for a year or so and I decided to join. Fortunately for me, he's been there the same two times I have, because I don't know which equipment works which body part and he was cool enough to show me what to do. (Let's pause for a moment and say a quick prayer that I don't end up with trap muscles.) They actually have a good variety of cardio equipment, weights and other contraptions that work your arms and legs. They may have classes there. I don't know. I saw a doorway at the back that said 30 Minute Workout. It was pretty much a sign-up and you figure it out on your own kind of thing. If you go with the $20 a month membership, you can use any PF facility as well as the tanning beds, massage chairs and hydro beds. I opted for that since I wanted to have access to the gym by my house as well as the one by my office. The tanning beds are good quality but I haven't tried the massage equipment yet. The basic membership is $10 and you can only use the facility where you sign up, and I don't think you get access to the tanning and massage equipment with it. Can't beat the prices. The ladies locker room was nice and roomy and clean. Bring your own lock for your locker, if you need one. The whole gym is very clean. I have a little work-out room in my house with everything I need for a great workout, but for about a year, it's been inaccessible to me. When and if I ever get my little room back, I'll probably cancel the membership because I'm not really in love with the idea of working out in the presence of an audience. While I appreciate their judgement free zone, I still prefer to make a complete fool of myself in the privacy of my own home. I'm just not made for entertainment purposes. For now, it works, and it's 24 hours 6 days a week, so I can go pretty much anytime I want. read more

I love coming here. I always use the elliptical in front of the televisions. However, the first three elliptical's head set ports are horrible sounding. I can never hear the tv correctly. I wish they would fix that. I enjoy the free supplies I can use to spray and clean my machine after use. I would love to see the place close at 9 pm on Friday and Saturday instead of 7 pm. read more

Went to the Daphne AL location today. There was a child working out today with his dad, probably 9-10 years old. I know the policy (or thought) was that the minimum age to workout was 13. So I went and asked the manager to verify (which he verified as 13 to use the gym) and asked why this younger child was on the weight machines. He said it was the owner with his son and could do what he wanted because "it's not like he is going to sue himself". Now I have a son that is 12 which I'd like to bring with me but can't. So the owner is ok with just throwing it in everyone's face that he can do what he wants in front of everyone despite the rules he himself Imposed on everyone else? What kind of messed up message is that sending to his paying patrons? How about you follow your own rules? Disappointed. read more

Ok so I'd give 2.5 stars but that's not an option. I travel all around the country and live in nomadic lifestyle due to this I have been to planet fitness is all over the country this is by far the smallest planet fitness I have ever seen! However, they are also very very polite and courteous they want you to enjoy your workout session! A lot of the planet fitness as I go to have out of shape rude caddy sometimes racist people working at the front desk.. no such problems at this location. However, I am not able to barely ever complete an entire work out... there are so many people in the gym and so little room to move. The free weight section has I think six or maybe eight benches but there's not enough space for you to work out if everybody is on a bench which is pretty much every evening. The cable machines constantly have equipment laying all around them nobody ever puts anything back and the employees do not go around to clean up after ppl. read more

For a place obsessed with "no judgement" they seem very judgmental by calling certain people "lunks" whatever the hell that means. Reasons for termination and related actions are as follows: The music and commercials played in this gym are extremely loud resulting in noise abuse, possible hearing injury and denial of reasonable conditions. I discussed this with attendants and manager (Austin Dodich) prior to closing due to Covid-19 virus.There has been no reduction to the loudness. One attendant stated that the loudness is set by Management and attendants are not allowed to change it. The conclusion based on Austin Dodich's speech and demeanor was to get me off the phone, he was very obviously not interested. Since approved reopening, the abusive music and commercial loudness is more than it was previously. Approximately 80 to 90 percent of members wear cell phone earplugs or ear phones in an attempt to block the loudness. Monday AM July 13, I was not able to use approximately 40% of the gym because of the abusive deafening loudness. The loudness denied me many times use of areas and equipment due to noise abuse, possible danger to my hearing and making an unfit environment. It is not reasonable for me to pay for something I am denied use of. Attendants at this gym are not following the virus protection provisions. They are not wiping or cleaning the equipment. I have been there one and one-half hours 4 or 5 days a week since reopening. My experience shows 50 - 60% of the members wipe down equipment after use, others do nothing including the attendants . The failure to follow safe protective practice and public health orders create serious danger to people coming into the gym. I do not want to catch the virus due to lack of cleaning. July 13, I called the gym and spoke to an attendant . I requested to talk to Mr. Harry Dodich, President of this gym "if he was available". The first response I received was "WHO ?", there was an act that she did not know who he was. I explained he was the President of the gym and she said "oh, yes". She then said he was not there. I asked to leave a call back message and gave my name and number. She said she would give it to him, "When she saw Him". I asked if she could leave a message any other way for him, again I got the "When I See Him," and "she did not know when that might be". She was deliberately rude and arrogant for no reason. It was obvious from her tone, what she said and her demeanor she had no intention of being helpful or concerned. Customer service shown has been very insulting. Apparently , they don't run the heater. It was 44 and 54 and while that's perfect for snuggle weather; the combo sweaty body and cold climate are a bad for some. Love working out here! It's a great sized gym and they always keep it nice and clean. I opted for the Black Card so I get use of the hydro massage bed, tanning and can bring a friend with me for no extra charge. The hours just expanded to 24 hours during the week. Check out the training programs also. Tres is a great trainer and has been working with me on program designed just for my needs. I'm already 24 pounds down and working towards my end goal. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and truly a "no judgement zone" as advertised! read more

I really did not like the cancellation policy - or wondering if there is one. My daughter came back home from the college just for the summer and joined the gym. She was not told that she has the black membership, we only found out when we saw $21.00 deducted, (wish she had been told so she could bring a friend). When she asked about it they explained that this is the only way to cancel the membership anytime, so since she was leaving Daphne in August ,she cancelled it right then, signed the cancellation on the pad and was told that her last day to come was August 16. August 19 we have noticed that no cancellation was processed and she was still being charged. She already left town so I went to see what's going on - when I explained the situation, both front desk employees came to repeat the script which they probably used many times before - how my daughter was supposed to come and cancel in person etc...and when I said that she did , they just kept saying the same thing over and over. I knew I had no chance proving anything so I asked for the name of the manager and left. I had my daughter call and when she was able to remember how the young man looked and the probable day when the cancellation was done, they decided to honor it?! I am wondering if this is done purposefully since not everyone checks their account regularly, but with today's technology when someone signs the pad there should be some indication on the account that it was done. Or maybe people should just take a picture with the front desk person for the proof to avoid a headache in the future. I've come to expect this from AT&T but not local service providers. read more

I was a member for almost 2 years. This gym is kept immaculate. Bathrooms, showers, tanning beds, and gym itself. Very large, free standing Planet Fitness. They recently added more beds, but depending on time of day, you may have a wait. Hydro beds are relaxing after a hard workout. There are PLENTY of cardio equipment, but the free weight area leaves alot to be desired. I ended my membership solely because I wanted to join a gym that offered group classes. I would definitely recommend PF in Daphne for a gym though. read more

Should be call Planet Treadmill. There are plenty of treadmills, stair climbers and elliptical machines...probably enough for everyone in Daphne to work out at the same time. You can walk on a treadmill and not be within 20 feet of another person. But there is a VERY LIMITED amount of free weights...I don't get it. Every time im there I see 8 or 9 people using 1 of the 100 cardio machines and 20 people crammed into the tiny weight room section. Normally there is not a huge wait to use any of the free weights but the main problem is you have to work out so closely to the next person you get their sweat all over you. Come on yall, open the free weight area up some!! Get rid of all the machines that nobody uses and expand the weight room. Other than that its fine.
