Quality/Quantity - So unprepared on this trip! Did not know there was a PF across the street from my hotel... Anyway, I had time to kill while my wife shopped at TJ Maxx so came here to use their massage chairs and tables. But then I also forgot/left my airpods in the hotel room. With the rain/storm, there was NO way I was going to walk back. Ambiance - Decent size location. Many windows facing the mall, so I guess all the people walking by can watch you work out?!?! Similar to the one in Blossom Hill, San Jose. Even the Walnut Creek PF had too many windows for my liking. Two entrances, I entered from the rear of the building. Service - 5 stars, the team was welcoming. And patient with me as I have never had to fill out so many forms/steps to use the massage equipment. This is the first location that I had to do like 10 self service kiosk steps to use each massage machine! So many disclaimers, did someone get hurt?!?! Price - $15 to $24.99 a month. Planet fitness is great when it comes with price and machines but the environment is depressing, it's like no one is happy there, also the staff especially the person looking at the cameras harass you when you have a bottle water next to you, especially if you have wraps for joints, you can't even keep them next to you, can't even workout in peace without the staff bothering you, great for price and equipment but not really the place you wanna be when it comes to peace of mind. read more

I walked into Planet Fitness this morning and the guy at the front desk tells me that the girl with the purple hair claims I touched her inappropriately. She said it made her feel uncomfortable when I walked by and accidentally bumped or brushed up against her lol. Thats incinuating that I possibly intentionally touched her. Look at the video footage of the incident,does it look like I was trying to touch her? Gimme a break this is crazy. Even if I apologized to that employee she still would have said something. I'm a big guy,I weigh 260 and I'm 6-1. If anything she should have apologized to me for being in my way when I was walking by.This is a joke . Yeah I would really do something like that to an employee so I can get my membership cancelled. This is so stupid. Now all the employees think I may have touched her inappropriately on purpose. Other members may think the same. Cancelling our memberships immediately and so are a few friends of ours. I'm a member from 4 hours away and I decided to check these guys out in Eureka. The staff were nice and helpful, they were set up different from my home location and the staff walked me through everything. The gym is clean, organized well, and the spa had the hydro massage table and hydro massage lounge, the massage chairs, the angel machine, and a wellness pod. Definitely a great value! read more

We're Planet Fitness members, we joined because they have more locations nationwide than any other gym. We travel a lot and this makes it easy for us to workout pretty much anywhere. We're currently on a four month road trip and we must have visited at least seven different locations already. This location was clean, the staff were friendly and there were only a few machines that were not working. It wasn't busy and we were able to use all the equipment that we wanted to. Locker rooms, bathrooms and showers were clean; but the showers were a little small. read more

Absolutely amazing! I love this gym. The staff is amazing, the gym is clean, and there is a great variety of equipment. I definitely recommend downloading the app. You can get workouts and make appointments with the trainer on staff. Who is awesome btw. In an earlier review I made a comment about the new wellness pod and not being able to relax in it. Well, now it's awesome! They put a door on the room and it is wonderfully quiet and calming. I want to use it every day. With the wellness pod, massage chairs, and red light therapy the black card is definitely worth it. read more

This is one of the best gyms that I have belonged to. The manager, Gerardo, is awesome. He is patient and kind with everyone. The morning staff are all awesome. I have not dealt with evening staff. Gerardo ensures the gym is clean at all times. The men's bathroom is overall clean but gets wet often due to the high number of people in and out of it. I observe Gerardo and his staff all working hard. I read another review blaming Gerardo for gym fees and annual fee - ludicrous! The fees are set by the PF corporation and when you sign up you acknowledge an annual fee which goes toward the purchase of new equipment. The manager of PF has nothing to do with your fees. I belonged to two other gyms in the area, Healthsport and another unnamed one. Healthsport is too expensive, overcrowded, not enough equipment and zero parking. And the other gym was dirty. And by the way, I hesitated to join PF at first because I had heard many Planet Fitness locations are woke as shit, which I hate. This PF is nothing like you hear. They give respect to everyone and the other members are pretty cool. read more

They wont respect your requests to cancel accounts. I've been charged for 8 months of service that I did not request. They insist that they cannot do certain actions at their physical location, like cancelling accounts. So when you contact the main offices via phone or email, they tell you that you need to do it at the physical location. You get run around in circles with these people. Go to a real gym. I was planning to sign up for two memberships today at the Eureka Planet Fitness. Not only were we treated like children by the front desk clerk, what seemed to be the manager on duty made an agist remark when I questioned why I would need to add an application to my phone in order to sign up for a membership. Also, why is there a sign up fee when I do all the work? When I questioned the request for access to my bank account when I had a valid credit card, I was told that this was the only way to pay for a membership. No exceptions. This location pissed me off and lost out on two solid Black Card memberships, but by the horrible Yelp reviews of the facility, it seems as if we saved ourselves a lot of trouble. read more

I'm definitely not satisfied with Planet Fitness. I wanted to trial the gym for a couple days when visiting in Eureka, CA. While they wouldn't sell me a day pass for my daughter, who is 17, to work out with me, they were more than happy to try to get me to buy a membership for her for just two days...a membership complete with start up fees and membership fees. So she can't trial the gym with me because she's under 18, but she can have a membership there under 18??? I have had two very unpleasant interactions with one of the employees at the front desk. Unfortunately, her name tag read "staff" so I do not know her name. She has platinum bleached hair, wears glasses, and has a thin frame. She appears to work Saturday evenings and Sundays during the afternoon. Sometimes, I forget to bring my phone in with me. When this happens, I ask the person at the front desk to sign me in using my phone number. Twice now, when I have forgotten to bring my phone with me, she has given me attitude. She was visibly bothered that I interrupted her playing with her fake nails and chit chatting with other employees. During this last visit with her, she told me "We want to keep this from happening again". Uh, keep what from happening? You actually doing your JOB? It takes about 5 seconds for the other employees to sign me in using my number. And they don't try to make me feel like a loser because I'm not glued to my phone 24/7. Seriously, it was like she wanted me to apologize to her or something! Both times her attitude made me feel disrespected and it stayed with me during my workouts. This girl really needs to be taught proper customer service. Or just plain manners. (Maybe the girl with the bright green hair can teach her... I wish I knew her name to give her credit because SHE has some of the best customer service I've ever had!). I actually have avoided buying drinks or signing up for the massage chairs if she is the only one working up there. I just don't want to deal with her at all. read more

This gym is in a large mall where half (or more) of the stores are closed. You can't enter the gym from the front of the mall you must go around to the back. While parked in the back preparing to go inside I was approached by aggressive panhandlers. It was broad daylight but I was frightened by their demeanor. There were several just standing about. The only thing going here is it's cheap and not crowded. The login bs at front with app is super buggy and you have to connect to their Wi-Fi each time to even enter that dam gym. Many times it doesn't work and they have to manually add you at front. Coming from a 24 hour fitness Super Sport, this gym is a huge downgrade, but I have no other option as I am only visiting for 5 weeks. I decided to try their $10/mo membership advertised, but didn't know there were a lot of catches to it. It wasn't straight up 10/mo, but included activation fee and on top of that you don't get a FULL month's worth of membership. I signed up beginning of July, but they told me I had to cancel before July 25 to avoid paying extra fees. This doesn't make sense because my FULL MONTH membership should be active until Aug. It's a clean gym overall especially the locker rooms! The front staff however, are pretty slow and not attentive at all. When I come into the gym, I expect to be checked in ASAP so I can go straight to working out. The staff usually just stand around and don't acknowledge you. Equipment is pretty new and well kept. My only complaint is that they have a lot of the same equipment, they should throw in an area to have free bars for deadlifts and chest press. They also should invest in some 35lb plates. The other weird thing is that they don't have enough mirrors in there and they're not placed in various spots so that you can check your form when lifting. This gym is more for like if you're a beginner and just starting to learn how to gym. I do appreciate the fact that there are barely any people here even during rush hour! Another negative is that they have a tanning bed room, but not sauna? I find this VERY odd 'cause a sauna is pretty standard at most gyms. It's located in a "mall" area, but there are lots of ghetto people and homeless so be careful when parking! I would advise parking in the back where they have cameras. Anyway, it does the job for out of towners like me that want to get work outs in. I like that they're also open 24 hours on certain days. read more

Beware when purchasing "black card membership " We purchased our membership in Flagstaff and attendant showed us black card amenities stating both member AND guest could use the amenities only to be informed in Eureka Ca. that it was for black card members only. When I first started working with her, I thought I was really strong...then I went through an intensive abdominal surgery and I came out even stronger the way that she coaches you through mental and physical trials is amazing. I think that the people,e who work here are really nice and they always make me feel welcome and comfortable. Every time I come in they are all smiles and just super welcoming. The facility is super clean and the equipment is in great condition. Last night I had a circuit training session with Liz and she is amazing! I have never felt more comfortable learning something new as I was with her. She is super positive and encouraging and I loved learning new techniques from her. I honestly had so much fun. I look forward to going to PF every night after work, oh and the Hydro therapy massage lounges are so nice. Every time I go to this gym there is equipment available, hydro beds available and super friendly people. It gets a definite 5 star rating from me. read more

There are a few machines they don't have that my old one did but I'll find new ones that work out the area I need help with So one Friday we went by after work to find them closed! there were staff inside that payed no attention to us as we tried to open the door before realizing they weren't open. & the signs says open 24 hours, but then says 6:00am-9:00pm umm!? I was told month to month. No contract. 10.00 a month. Suddenly they added 4 different charges! A 39.00 fee after 2 months, 15.00 a month not 10.00..90 days at first gym before you can transfer. Oh, and do not forget the cancellation fee!!!! They require access to your bank account or you cannot join. They make it sound so good but they will take 3 times what you signed up for. For me i expected 49.00 in charges. But what they took was 139.00! Then they will NOT negotiate. Their headquarters says call your gym and the gym manager says "Those are the rules." No exceptions. Dont sign with them! They are deceptive. I was staying with friends in Eureka cause i losst my house in the Campfire. He didnt care. read more

Friendly staff, but my car got broken into in the parking lot, as did another person. I know PF isn't responsible for this, but I'm on vacation passing through. I got a vibe that it didn't feel safe, and sure enough I got a bunch of stuff taken out of my car. I could hear people talking in the bushes behind the gym. I read the previous reviews of PF and was admittedly a bit nervous signing up. However, this is actually a really fantastic gym and I couldn't be happier. I never have issues with the WiFi, signing in each time is a breeze, every single employee here is so nice and smiles and greets you, the facility is astoundingly clean, I love the ease of using the PF app, I love the extra amenities like the showers and lots of tvs, the array and amount of equipment is excellent, and the overall vibe being in the facility is kind and welcoming. read more
