Like many service businesses, staff turnover is common. The current morning staff are friendly and do a nice job though. In the past there have been issues with soap being available in the bathrooms/locker rooms, but this has not been a problem for several months (hopefully it stays that way!). As always, there is a nice variety of equipment to use for all levels of fitness enthusiasts. I realize this is outside of the gym's control, but there will always be certain clientele that do not follow gym etiquette, which can be frustrating at times. Turns out this was my home PF. I joined years ago, the membership that allowed me to use any one anywhere which was kind of convenient and a good deal. You know how they advertise that you can join and leave and come back any time you want? Not so. I bought my own elliptical at the start of the COVID quarantine, partly because I got a great deal (the exercise equipment store thought at that early stage of the epidemic that they had to sell off all inventory as people wouldn't be shopping) and partly because PF workers did not take basic safety precautions like mask wearing and hand washing. Anyway, trying to quit ended up with them charging me for TWO memberships. I couldn't remember that this was the first place I joined, and went in vain to different locations asking to end my membership and none of them could help, they said I had to go back to the first place I joined, and they couldn't see where that was on my account. Finally when I came back here, a new employee didn't know how to obfuscate properly and did cancel one of my memberships, but PF kept billing me for the other membership, at a rate higher than any of their current regular membership rates. I finally had to have my bank treat the monthly billing as a dispute, and every month now for a few months the bank removes the charge and notifies PF and yet the next month I still get charge. Do yourself a favor, unless you are going to join forever, pass it up. It's not worth the frustration when you do want to cancel. read more

Once again, Planet Fitness has disappointed me, my wife has a membership at Planet Fitness and I was catching up to her this morning. I did not get up early enough so I was greeted with a scolding on not being able to enter without the main membership holder. This employee didn't even know if I came alone or if the main membership holder was there and began to question why I was doing it and that it was wrong. This is not the first time I have these experiences with Planet Fitness at Franklin. I really hope their customer service improves. Other planet fitness' have never treated me this way. Really makes me want to go to a private gym again. I am not surprised since I had an unpleasant interaction with a manager at the same location just a couple weeks ago. The facility has a lot of space and a lot of machines to work on so it's a bummer that their customer service is so disappointing. I would recommend this gym if you're looking for regular planet fitness with a lot of space but it tends to get busy here. Unfortunately, because of my experiences, I can't recommend this place. read more

This gym is an absolute disappointment. There's one male employee who stands out because he's the only one wearing khaki shorts, and unfortunately, he does nothing to contribute. Every time I've come in during his shift, he either ignores members to socialize, stands around doing nothing, or isn't even at the front desk. The gym is left messy and unattended whenever he's working, and it's clear nothing gets taken care of. Because of this, I will no longer be using this location. read more

This location always seems to have issues. The front desk frequently seems to be short staffed. Later at night you have to hunt someone down or call the place if you need assistance. I've been put in dirty tanning beds multiple times. There's issues in the parking lot with cars either being stolen or broken into. The police have been called to the inside due to people getting their stuff stolen or younger adults causing problems. I don't seem to notice this stuff at other locations. read more

Could not ask for more from a gym where you pay $10 a month. The workout area is absolutely clean, the machines and weights are well maintained. Two things missing from the gym - 1. An independent bench for chest press (with a free rod) 2. Steam and sauna would've been nice but can't really complain. Overall, 5/5 for me. read more

I have been a member here for a year, and there is a lot I actually love about this place. Unfortunately though, there is one big reason I am currently shopping for a new gym. But let's start with the good - Open 24/7, cheap ($10 month) clean, bright, spacious. Plenty of cardio equipment. People are friendly, I love the non judgement zone for gym newbies, and the company is LGBT friendly (this is so important, as it can be hard to find a safe place to work out if you are lesbian, transgender, etc, so THANK YOU to planet fitness for leading the way) Equipment that is broken seems to be replaced quickly. In the year I've been a member, they have made some improvements such as adding stair step machines and a synergy station (seems to be somewhat crossfit influenced) In fact, I will be quite sad to leave this place, but here is the reason - there are no free weights. Yes, they have dumbbells that go up to 75 pounds. There are also 4 smith machines, but this forces unnatural movement. But there are NO squat racks, no free weight bench press, no Olympic barbells, (I'm pretty sure deadlifting is banned at most PF locations) They have 'fixed' barbells that go up to 60 pounds, so once you pass that weight your only option is to change up your routine, use machines, or bodyweight. I am working on a basic 5x5 strength training program which is centered around performing compound movements and increasing the weight gradually each time - squat, bench, military press, deadlift, barbell row. As you can see from what I just described, PF simply does not have the equipment I need to get the job done. To be clear - this is not a Franklin specific issue. Planet Fitness as a company made the decision to remove all squat racks and bench presses from all their clubs (I believe at the time they said it was due to safety) When I mentioned this to one of their staff members, she told me that they do hear that complaint a lot. I was told I could try working with a personal trainer, but unfortunately that doesn't change the equipment used (or fit my schedule) So if by chance corporate ever reads this, please know, that is the only reason I will ultimately leave. I would love for you to change that policy so I can return! I joined PF as a gym newbie. Back then I was easily intimidated by the idea of 'lunkheads' dominating the weight area. Planet Fitness helped me to find my footing in starting fitness and I am very grateful for that. Unfortunately, they have helped me so much that I now feel I have outgrown the equipment they offer, and will be forced to find a new gym to continue my training. I highly recommend PF to anyone just starting out with fitness, those who are looking to primarily do cardio, or anyone who feels they need a safe, LGBT/gym newbie safe zone to workout. Anyone who wants to do serious weight training however will need to find another place to work out. read more

Great gym! I've been a member for over 2 years and I drive past about 5 other gyms to use this one. The staff is always friendly. The equipment is rarely broken, and is repaired quickly. There are enough machines that you never have to wait. The price is great! It's $10 a month for the baseline membership. And I was lucky enough to score a coupon for $99 for a year's membership. The showers are great! They have a dividing curtain so your towel doesn't get wet, and they have 2 very Fancy shower heads. In the ladies locker they even have fresh flowers and 2 hairdryers. Parking is always very easy. The lot is always plowed and salted during the winter. All this and free grape tootsie rolls! read more

There are 3 showers and one "changing room" which consists of a curtain. I value my privacy especially in todays modern world where everyone has there phones out. I just want to take my clothes off, just not in front of strangers. Next, as I primarily use the gym to run during the cold winter months, I noticed there are 3 (at least) treadmills with broken tv's, which have not been repaired for several months. As an aside, I dont know if it's the acoustics or what but whats with the superloud lockers? And the super loud bathroom stall doors? Sometimes i wonder if other guests just bang the lockers and doors shut for fun. I swear, I will be using the bathroom and suddenly get shocked by the loud bang of a locker or other stall door. After consuming large quantities of extremely fatty foods and turning 30, I have noticed a considerable weight gain in places where I really didn't want to gain weight. It took me a while to decide to spend money on the gym, but after repeatedly hitting my head on the coffee table while trying to work out at home, I decided to splurge and sign up for planet fitness at $10/mo (really not a bank breaker like some other places). I was pleasantly surprised: 1) the place is spacious, there are plenty of workout machines so you don't feel like a moron standing and waiting for someone to be done with their routine 2) there are cleaning people walking around everywhere 3) The bathrooms are well lit and clean 4) There are TVs with headphones under the ceiling, so you can watch tv while working out! Its almost like sitting at home, except for the couch! 5) There is a little shop there 6) Open 24/7 If this place had a swimming pool, I would live there! read more

Very disappointed with how this planet fitness is operating during COVID. Half the people working out here are not wearing their masks, and even though there are signs posted when you walk in that masks are mandated, none of the staff is enforcing this for people who are working out without their masks. I've even seen some front desk staff not wear their masks which is disappointing. This is a let down compared to other planet fitness centers that are strict on their mask policy. read more

I really don't understand why anyone isn't satisfied with the Planet Fitness in Franklin. Is it a great gym? No. Of course not. But it's $10 a month. What do you expect? PF is pretty decent for $10 a month. It gets the job done. It's clean. It's open 24-hours, which was the selling point for me. Of course it's quite busy from 4-8 pm-ish, but if you elect to go in for a late-night sweat sesh (me) or rise early the population will be a little more sparse. They have plenty of cardio machines and a row of TVs so that pretty much takes care of the needs of a Cardio Queen. Just kidding, I've been trying to add in more weight training... ugh. Maybe one day I'll graduate from weight training videos at home to the heavier weights at the gym. Though, the weight section is set up right in front of all the rows of cardio equipment so I imagine that would be a little awkward. Because of an email promotion I was able to try out the Hydro Massage last night which was quite nice. Black Card members, I suggest trying if you haven't already! Planet fitness does not allow you to cancel memberships during COVID. They want you to go to their clubs and cancel in person or send them a letter, but since the clubs are closed we are not able to cancel our memberships until clubs reopen again. read more

I do not like this location. They have run out of paper towel to clean the machines. The water massage bed errors with a minute left. The tanning bed (5) wouldn't stay shut without me holding it. And every time there's a line to check in because the employees are on the phone or just not at the desk. read more

Horrible operation. Management/ownership has NO concerns for the safety of their guests. Lockers are constantly having locks cut off by other guests with a bolt cutter and items stolen. Cell phones, cash, credit cards , expensive gym clothes , duffel bags. Management assumes no responsibility even though they're aware of the situations. Men's showers are unsafe, shower faucets constantly broken, toilets inoperable, urinals always bagged over with signs saying out of order. Exercise equipment broken for weeks. TVs have poor sound quality, can't hear anything. Employees poorly trained to deal with customer concerns, they get extremely hostile and combative. Very understaffed, equipment not cleaned on a regular basis, they can't find quality employees for the low wages. Save yourself the trouble of getting ripped off, other quality exercise establishments to choose from, stay away from this shit hole! read more

Very clean and the staff is friendly. Since you pay only $10 or $20 a month I really cant complain about the lack of towels or the clientele that frequent this gym. They have an alarm that goes off if someone drops the weights or is grunting when they lift which is kind of funny. I wish it went off when you see people having 15 minute convos on their cell phones while sitting on a machine. Its fun to watch the guys punch the mirror and flex, you cant complain when you just paid $10 for a membership, you just have to laugh. If they changed the name from the "lunk alarm" to the "tool alarm" it would probably go off constantly. read more

Very clean and a beautiful facility. Behind all the superficial appeal the gym is very limited. This gym does not have a squat rack or any place to bench or squat with a barbell. All the have are 3 smith machines... The Dumbbells only go up to 75lbs and the rest of the machines are your run of the mill and very basic. This place is fine if you are only interested in treadmills and curls but if you actually want to lift look elsewhere read more

Horrible gym and management! I had a Planet Fitness membership for a few months and decided to cancel it because I worked a lot and had little time to get to the gym. I called and they said I'd need to come in to cancel with them and pay a fee of I believe $56-$58? So I did, signed my paper work and I figured hey, I'm done with this place don't have to worry about getting billed anymore for not even using my membership. Well a month later I had noticed I was missing funds from my bank statements and when I checked to see what has been charged I saw that I had gotten charged for the month of October which was $19.99 and they also charged me $39 for the following year - WTF! I called and talked to a manager named Gabby, she told me it was "their mistake" and that he probably forgot to cancel my membership at the time when I came in to cancel and that she'd make sure I wouldn't get charged anymore, she then told me I'd be getting a check in the mail in "3-4 weeks" so I'm like okay. I waited the 3-4 weeks and never got anything. I called back and spoke to a manager named Jordan. He's like, well they sent out your check at the end of October and now said I'd be seeing it in "4-6 weeks". He said if I didn't get it to call him back. The whole month of November passed by and I still didn't get anything, when he said 6 weeks I figured maybe second week of December. Well still no check refund of the money they took out of my account, so I called back last week and was like, This is getting ridiculous where is my check? How much longer and I supposed to wait? They basically gave me the run around. When I called back a 3rd time I spoke to some assistant manager who did not help me AT ALL, she didn't even know how to handle the situation and told me to call back in a half hour cause the head manager was out at the bank (seriously!?) So I did and it was Jordan again, all he did was email someone and was like "I'll get back to you later in the day to keep you posted" - never got a phone call man. So I tried looking for a corporate office number, which they don't even have, you gotta speak with useless managers at your home gym, so I sent an email and got a regional manager for the Milwaukee area and he basically said sorry for the inconvenience, expect to see your check within 2 weeks. I'm thinking to myself, really!? I been waiting for this check since the end of October and we're now going into January. So ridiculous! If you decide you wanna sign up with Planet Fitness my advice to you is, DONT! Or at least sign up with another location because the Franklin location, they don't know how to run their gym or deal with customer service. Both managers I spoke to said that the check had been sent out I wanna say October 28th? Well when I got my check in the mail today, the day it was stamped from being sent out said December 24th. This isn't my home gym but I visited with a guest today. I got my membership pretty recently and have been to three locations and liked them all. This location is good sized and fairly busy, especially since I came at 10pm on a Monday. However, there's a lot of equipment. I like that there are two of most of the weight machines so that there's less waiting to use the equipment you need. The facility was very clean. I've also noticed that the people who use planet fitness seem to wipe their equipment down more than I've noticed at other gyms. There's a ton of cardio machines and a lot have their own tv screens. There's also a ton of tvs hanging from the ceiling with different channels playing. One piece of equipment I'd love pf to get is a rowing machine. It's not a big deal but that's the only piece of cardio I miss here! There are also hydromassagers here that I have yet to use. You really can't beat this place for the price. read more

I love the fact that I am able to bring a guest with me every time, regardless of which location I am using. Using any location is a huge perk because of how many locations are in the area!! What's the point of sending out an email promoting "Any member who has the Monthly Membership will be allowed to use the Black Card Amenities." But not even let us take advantage of it? The front desk looked clueless like she didn't know what was going on.
