Had everything I needed to get a good workout in. Was in on a guest pass. Had the newer machines that were installed in most planet fitness's. Locker room was clean. Staff was super nice as well. The location is perfect since it was right next to a Walmart and other food options including Starbucks. My hotel was right across the street easy walking distance. read more

I've been a member at this gym and others in the network for some time, and I've always had positive experiences--until my recent visit on Wednesday, June 18th around 9:30 AM. Upon arrival with my friend, we briefly spoke with the front desk associate. While standing near the front area, I suddenly felt something tugging at my ankle. I looked down to find that a vacuum cord had wrapped around my legs. As I stepped out of it, the cord then tangled around my friend's ankle as well. No warning was given, and no one said "excuse me" or gave any sort of courtesy heads-up. This was surprising, as in every other club I've visited, team members have always been respectful and communicative when cleaning near members. Unfortunately, the situation escalated due to how the manager (Caleb) handled it. Rather than addressing the issue directly or offering a simple apology, he made a dismissive comment to my friend--in a condescending tone and from across the room--while leaning on a trash can. He did not acknowledge me at all, despite the fact that I was the one directly affected. We were in the middle of a workout, and other members were present, making the interaction even more inappropriate and uncomfortable. Later, I spoke with another team member who seemed shocked by what had happened. I was told the manager simply reminded staff to "be aware when vacuuming," but that feels like an inadequate response, especially given how unsafe and targeted the experience felt. It's also concerning that this manager may have a personal issue with my friend's boyfriend, who is a staff member, which raises questions about whether this incident was truly accidental.To make matters worse, I found out that video footage of the incident was shown to staff members who weren't present at the time. That felt like an unnecessary breach of privacy and further illustrates the lack of professionalism from management.I'm a paying member who came in for a workout--not to be physically entangled by equipment or treated disrespectfully by the very people responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously, as this experience was unacceptable on multiple levels. read more

PF Somers Pt. NJ. Positives: Facility is kept clean. Not overly crowded. Patrons are a mixed crowd of young and old & generally pleasant. Plenty of treadmills & ellipticals . Although the free weight area is small, there are ample benches. Negatives: Not for serious lifters, easy to outgrow. Dumbbells only go up to 75 lbs. Fixed barbells only from 20 lbs. to 60 lbs. Free weight area is undersized. Smith machines are counterweighted and feel weird. Rowing machines (ergs) are not Concept II PF's business model caters to the casual exercise enthusiasts with a glass ceiling for those into serious training. read more

This is the third Planet Fitness I've been to, and truthfully, I'm not sure I like it. Part of the problem is size. The place gets jammed in the afternoon. I want to get in and out. I find I have to adjust my routine to accommodate crowds. Parking is another issue. When it's cold or raining, it could be quite a walk. I've also noticed the club has no one walking the floors. A lot of younger folks are not properly using the equipment, and are risking injury. I dont suppose they can expand the gym, but if you're charging a yearly for upgrades, show us the upgrades. I called Plant Fitness on the 8th of March, but was told to go into Plant Fitness EHT so on March 12, 2024 i went into Plant fitness to cancel my and my husband gym membership because he was in a serious accident and in the trauma unit therefore was unable to go in person or right a written letter because of being by his side. You would think that a large corporation such as Plant Fitness would have compassion for a family but know they have to still charge for a fee because I didn't go on the 10th before the charge cycle as per Will, and district Manager!! Very standard Planet Fitness, lots of cardio equipment , TVs and machines. This location has 2 row machines. It also has a ab area and a 30 minutes workout section. Staff was friendly enough, place was clean and there was plenty of parking. This location also has a tanning area. If I'm ever near by again, I'll stop in for a workout. read more

I have to change my review upon my experience here yesterday. The young lady with hoodie at the counter was rude and unfriendly. She had a serious I don't wanna be here attitude (4 workers at counter and none were doing anything, waste of money- fire one and buy machines instead). Talking about machines, they continue to be unfixed, there's one machine that has a weight gap in the machine from malfunctioning. If those weights come down on someone's fingers this gym will have the biggest lawsuit they ever seen. The 30 minute workout section is being misused, no one seems to follow protocol in this room. No wiping down machines after being used, I had to wipe down grease stains off a machine from previous user, I'm done going to this gym!!! Disgusting and unmanaged sums up the attitude in this particular planet fix-this! You guys need get it right and change your outdated and broken machines. Spend a little money on this business and maybe people will feel like you actually care about them as a customer. Also, the fact that people are doing things in the wrong fashion here is a clear indication that no one is being toured on their first visit. People are doing exercises with weight in front of machines that can be used by others. This clearly shows that this place does not take the time to correct members as they join. There has to be a better way to train someone, maybe implement a 5 minute video for all new members to watch, showing them simple practices of each area of the gym. Stop relying on your online reputation, and start educating your customers and correcting them as they break simple common sense practices. read more

This planet fitness needs a serious facelift. Countless machines out of order. 6 stairclimbers with only 2 ever working. And even those are questionable. The weight area is a great size but not enough benches. They dont have some of the equipment even the somers point location has like stretch bands. Its a really busy, nice sized gym that could just use some updates really. Staff is super nice. read more

I come frequently for a massage and thats great but the customer service has much to be desired. The 2 ppl that were at the desk act as though they didnt want to be bothered. They would mumble the number chair u were assigned and u had to go remind them to turn them on. No smile..no greeting. Theyre just miserable. Makes me not want to come back. Eht location on 6/23 @1:40 p.m. seriously, they put a damper on my mood. One chair was out of order aand they told my husband to use it. The mays landing branch restrooms are always unsanitary. Trash on floor , toilet paper ,paper towels, urine on floors ...Equipment is in good condition however, there are stretch machine that are never occupied. There is so much wasted space! I realize this a a judgmental free facility but when I walk in and the Person behind the counter has 5 " fingernails it is less than desirable! I feel this gym could be so much more efficient with the right Managenemt in place. read more

This review is for the BRAND NEW Planet Fitness in Somers Point, New Jersey. UPDATED It opened yesterday and I just did a complete walk through this morning of the brand new Planet Fitness in Somers Point, NJ. Hours are generally 5 AM to 10 PM now. There was about 25-30 people working out this AM. Technically, it's about 1/2 the size of the PF at BHP & Fire rd. Besides the ceilings are about 12-15 feet high. Also about 1/2 as many pieces of strength training machines. Free weights section seem fully equipped. The tread mills, bikes, etc. all have individual TV screens on each one. Lockers are smaller, but well arranged and set-up. It appears well ventilated, but the heat is not working properly, it 's about 60° or less inside....just far too cold for proper gym attire. I highly recommend wearing sweats at this time. The Black Card section is smaller. But it appears they only have one (1) tanning booth and it currently does not work. I'd give them at least a week+ to iron out issues. That's it for now. Have fun! read more

Let me just say Jen P. you can tell u are full of trash talk. The bathrooms clean so clean i can smell the cleaner each time i go into gym. Staff is not rude nor does management stay on personal calls rather than waiting on customers. I always get a greeting of hello when i enter and goodnight when i leave. It shows you are miserable and lie all the time. One time, a "manager" had me wait on her to be done on her personal phone call she was making from the front desk so she could fix a problem that the computer system created. so her personal call helped to fix the problem that the computer system created? Computers can't create problems DUH.... so the manager got on the phone to fix it rather than jump at your request to log in, OMG sounds like you are dumb and feel entitled. Oh yeah if you are so great when was the last time you took care of 600 people daily that walk in the door at your job "NEVER." read more

I only joined this gym because the personal trainer I work with is associated with the gym. They seem to have an issue with people working out in groups which I honestly don't get. The staff is 50/50 with service and they offer pizza and bagel nights....I'm no certified fitness expert, however, shouldn't offerings be healthier? I mean, this is coming from a real legit foodie who goes to the gym and who has a trainer so I can eat what I want away from the gym LOL! All in all the gym has plenty of machines and is clean, it's just the group workout thing, the iffy service and the tempting food that influences the mediocre rating. read more

I travel between a few planet fitness clubs. This is my first time coming to this location. While the people are friendly and the bathrooms are very clean, there is an issue with having adequate access to water for your water bottles. It seems like the sensors work or don't work and there is no water pressure. While there is water to buy there, you shouldn't have to purchase to have adequate access to basic necessities. This is a health and safety risk. I asked a few members how long the water issue has been going on. They have said for more than a few months. This is concerning. read more

This has to be by far thee Worst planet fitness in the country outside of LA locations. The women's locker room for sure is infested. 3 people most of the time at the desk a female and NOBODY for hours touches the women's locker room. If you need to call outta work go to the women's locker room and walk around your sure to catch a staph infection. The mirrors from the day before from the day BEFORE still have nasty finger prints. So much garbage on the floors you can see it so clear. The inside of the heavily stained dressing rooms disgusting. And the hair and other things left for DAYS in the showers. Oh and you will NEVER see staff cleaning machines. However you WILL see them come in on all their shifts stand for hours cleaning NOTHING but talking TALKING AND TALKING. This location and the trash piled into the garbage. So my question is for those who can't go to another location where's their monthly fees going. This location needs to be shut own and disinfectant. Wait till winter I put money on it everyone will be coughing and sick. Pure disgust. read more

Customer service here is a hit or miss. After a month of being a member I realized that they treat you differently depending if it's busy or not. When I signed up they did not give me a tour.. I let that slide. Later on when I brought a guest, they never made any disclaimers that if you bring a guest as a black card member, the guest has to provide personal info/ID/signature/get their photo taken. Which was tedious and I was not given an explanation as to why this process was needed. At other times they didn't care if I brought a guest at all. This is inconsistent customer service and treatment. They definitely need to improve. Other than that, the gym itself is decent and perks are nice. The customer service just ruins the quality of the gym for me though. read more
