I've been coming here for reformer Pilates classes and the instructors have all been amazing... I absolutely love the 6 AM with Mary Ann... She pays very close attention to your form and gives outstanding instruction. Melissa spent time with me on the phone and explained their classes as I've had some prior medical issues. With Covid it is small and incredibly clean. I've seen them cleaning the equipment before and after each class. Can't wait to try the hot yoga! Definitely recommend. read more

If you're devoted to the Hot 26 (formerly Bikram) style of yoga, this is the only game in town. Mary Ann and her team including Bianca and Robin are friendly, warm and caring teachers. The studio just got a new makeover with updated flooring and paint and is a calm soothing space in a small storefront across from the beach on Ventnor ave. They also offer Pilates, barre and aerial yoga but I've only done the heated hot yoga. The room gets quite warm but not as hot as some other studios I have been to in my travels (Which is a good thing). If you're looking for a therapeutic healing form of yoga that's physically demanding and spiritually rewarding, Mary Ann's studio is the oasis you're looking for- I highly recommend this place. read more

My partner and I have been practicing at NJ Yoga Zone for the past few months, and this is beautiful and professional studio. After moving to Brigantine, we sampled about 5 local studios, and we came to love it here. There are plenty of class offerings, clothes for sale inside the studio, as well as special workshops to change things up from time to time. There are always excellent packages/specials on their website, and Melissa is terrific at responding to your questions/emails. I've come to respect and enjoy all of the teachers at NJ Yoga Zone - they've always made it a point to speak with us personally before or after each class. There is plenty of parking on the side streets of the studio. As with any yoga (or fitness) class, arrive in time to set up, as doors are closed/locked as to not interrupt that very special time. As a regular reviewer, I don't rate a place by its one or two 'grudge' reviews. If you come after a class is in session, have respect and figure out the next step (is there a back entrance? Are you too late?) The Margate area gets very busy in the summer, and if this is a new studio to you, do a little homework so you can come prepared. Please do not waste your money. Not only do they pack you into the studio so you can barely move, the place is very unsanitary. The "rented" mats and balls smelled horrible. I specifically asked for a antibacterial wipe which they did not have. Additionally the "instruction" was more focused on her own reflection then properly teaching her calls. I have been practicing barre for years and the amount of incorrect form that the "instructor" did nothing to correct was mind boggling. STAY AWAY! read more

Really wanted to like this place but didn't get a chance to even walk through the front door. Had spoken with the studio several times and was interested in classes for when I'm in the area. (while blogging I travel a lot) and the they never seemed to answer the phone or return phone calls. Ended up going with a nearby studio, I was promptly responded to and they have better reviews anyway. Would be willing to change review based on response from business. read more

This is a hidden gem and has it all- Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Aerial Yin (a personal favorite) and workshops. All the instructors are A++ and friendly. They also sell stylish workout attire. The no carbon footprint and natural cleaning products are a plus. It is your loss if you try a class! read more

I went to a barre/pilates class there and it was terrible! I do barre regularly in Philadelphia and wanted to find a place down the shore to do it while on vacation. I showed up while a yoga class was going on, and was literally yelled at by a woman for trying to open the door. A minute later when another newcomer arrived and tried to go through the front door, she was similarly standoffish. She was incredibly unhelpful and it took a solid five minutes for her to realize that I didn't even want to go to a yoga class, I was there for the pilates class. At that point, she finally instructed me to head to the back of the building for the pilates "studio." This studio was TINY (only room for 4 people), the instructor didn't have any music and spent the whole time gossiping, and did not even try to correct anyone's form or posture. The actual barre part of the class was not hard at all, very basic, and the pilates machine part of the class was similarly easy. On top of everything, the website is incredibly confusing and made it look like a drop in class was $16, with a student discount bringing it down to $12. Apparently this is only for yoga classes, and the pilates class cost $30! When I showed the website to the woman (the one standing in front of the studio, blocking the door) to explain why I was confused, she was not sympathetic at all and made no attempt to rectify the issue. I will definitely not be going to this studio again. read more

I have been going to Yoga Zone for the last 5 years. I have enjoyed all of the instructors, and have learned something different from everyone. I have gotten stronger and more flexible from the practice here. As a gym person, I enjoy the change up, and they have brought something different to my routine of working out. In addition, they are able to work around any problems I may be having (my knee) and instruct me in different things to do, which won't injure it and make it stronger. Nothing is better than biking over to this gem for a fabulous vinyasa class. All the instructors are great, but you must be sure you grab a class with Melissa. She plans the best classes and is able to both challenge those flexible yogis who practice daily and offer modifications for those who practice less frequently. Melissa inspires everyone to reach 'a little more, a little more' and before you know it, you've done more than you've imagined you could! Oh - and best music ever! I have been practicing yoga at NJ Yoga Zone for over 8 years and Pilates reformer classes for 5 years. The instructors are very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Vinyasa classes concentrate on form and moving with breath. After all, holding a shape for 5 breaths is definitely gives you that mind/body connection than moving quickly. Pilates classes are semi private, 4-5 to a class. The small group setting is really nice! Form and alignment are a focal point. Melissa is great with responding to emails, texts and calls regarding questions about classes. When you visit Margate this summer, NJ Yoga Zone is a must! read more

I was bummed about this place, my instructor was really nice but the studio itself is TINY and old. There was plastic covering the ceiling (it almost looked like trash bags) and it just didn't feel clean. The class itself is average in terms of difficulty but again, the instructor was very friendly and made it bearable. The price was outrageous for the way the studio looked- I've been to other studios for half the price that are way nicer- $30 for a class in a studio that looks like this one is insane. Sadly, it was a very disappointing experience. read more

Fabulous little beachy studio with teachers that rival the supposed 'best' instructors in the country. I have been taking Pilates almost daily for six years and have participated in Reformer Pilates classes all over the world. This is my fourth summer coming back to NJ Yoga Zone because their instruction, attention to detail and desire to TEACH (not just hold a class) is outstanding. NJ Yoga Zone Pilates has never failed to engage me, and further my Pilates practice. They have fantastic, caring instructors. As a student you can expect to be taught, challenged and when required, accommodated appropriately. The studio space is small and intimate with a friendly open atmosphere that encourages comradery. Classes are small, four reformers, and instructors pay very close attention to each student. This is not the studio for you if you want loud pounding music and a large class. I love NJ Yoga Zone!!! I live about 30 minutes away and drive past tons of other studios to get to Melissas class. Each class is different and I learn something new during each class. I have practiced at many studios and NJ Yoga Zone is fanatastic. They also have fressh pressed juices made daily for sale.
