We joined Planet Fitness about a week ago and I have been impressed with this location so far. Staff - 8/10 Very friendly on welcoming and leaving. I haven't had any questions so I don't know how helpful they are but they always greet with a smile and hello. Cleanliness - 9/10 This location is always really clean and well taken care of. Equipment, restrooms, floors, etc... everything is clean and in good working order. Location - 6/10 It's not in the nicest neighborhood and parking can be difficult at busy times. Equipment - 9/10 As far as I know (not a professional weight lifter) there seems to be everything a person needs. There is plenty of cardio equipment and duplicates of all the weight machines. Busy - 6/10 During the week, from 5-7 it's pretty busy. You may have to wait for a piece of weight equipment but there is usually at least an open treadmill. Friday afternoon was absolutely empty. Great experience, great equipment and helpful staff and always crowded clean bathrooms

Before anyone reads this consider I got here on a Thursday at like 1 pm so it was fairly dead. This gym overall is a 4 star. They have a pretty big and open area when you walk in so you can see everything which was nice. They have the updated massage chairs and they have the changing areas/rooms for the showers. They would probably get 5 stars but they still have the old style showers with the curtain and not the door. Other than that it was good. read more

I really enjoy working out at this particular location. I usually flip-flop between here and Asheboro Planet Fitness because they are both about equal distance from where I live. The employees at the front desk and the trainers are always very friendly and helpful. I have noticed that a few of the same people have been working here for a few years now and that shows a lot about a company and how they treat their workers. I'm very happy to see familiar faces smiling when I walk in and swipe my card. The gym floor is always kept neat and clean. The locker rooms are usually in decent shape however I do wish that they had full length mirrors. The black card spa located behind the front counter is where you will find your hydromassage beds, massage chairs, tanning rooms and some comfy chairs so you can sit and chill out. Cleanest gym ever, nice staff. If I had just one gripe it would be slightly heavier dumbbells(75lb max), but I understand they do that to avoid the steroid head or douche bag types from coming. read more

The gym is clean and staff kept sanitized. This location has four hydro massage beds and plenty of cardio equipment.

I joined this Planet Fitness location a year ago. I love it. The staff is very friendly. They keep the gym nice and clean. I usually go 4 days a week and work with the Trainer, Curtis and he is great and very knowledgeable. Thanks for all you guys do! read more

I joined this location in January, and I really love it. I'm usually there 5 days a week, around 11 am, and I've never had a problem with any of the staff, the equipment, or the other members. The building is always clean, and I constantly see other gym goers cleaning up after themselves. I've been at this location during busier times, and they never run out of equipment. The restrooms/locker areas are all clean as well. I love being a member at this Planet Fitness. read more

Please be very careful when dealing with southmain planet fitness. I have just talk to a employee Christian who by the way was rude. I have been trying to cancel my membership because my hours on my job changed and I have been unable to go, I was charged a 10.00 late fee. I questioned the fee, I have been with planet fitness 6 years I refuse to pay a fee that is double my account that a rip off a late fee of 10.00. I then paid that months bill and was told I owed a 10.00 late fee. I refused to pay a 10.00 late fee because I was late 2 weeks. I then told them to cancel my membership. This is where they refused. I was told that I couldn't. I asked for the corporate number and was told there was no corporate number or address that we could contact. When we sign a contract with them they will tell you that if you want to discontinue the membership that all you have to do is contact either in writing or phone to cancel, what they do is refuse to cancel then monthly fees will rack up fees if you dispute a fee that shouldn't have been on your account in the first place. I have been with them for 6 years and will not be bullied into paying for something I am not using but I am harassed and charged monthly because they refuse to cancel the membership. So now so far I am up to 60 dollars in a matter of 3months this includes club fee plus late fee for each month that I have not gone to the facility plus late fees. So just be careful people want to scam you into paying for something you no longer need by continuing charging you monthly plus late fee racking up your bill. This has to be illegal to have a charge that is as high as your payment for late fees any attorney out there that can help with this question.
