I've been going to PF in Hudson, NY for a while now. They recently changed the television lineup to a full MAGA conservative liking. FOX News is the only national news channel; the propaganda, "for entertainment" channel shouldn't be shown in a public business. The local news are both right-leaning. CNN was traded for an advertising only station. So much for the "JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE" that's plastered all over the club. TBS is the only politics free channel. The staff is wonderful and they're the reason for two stars instead of one. read more

The mens showers at this Planet Fitness only have cold water. This happens in the winter as well. It's like they don't own a hot water heater. The shower heads are frequently broken. They continually have general plumbing Issues as well. Also; Planet Fitness won't let you pay in advance so you can't take advantage of any perks offered by health Insurance companies. read more

I have been going to this location for several years. The staff is amazing. It's nice to see familiar faces year after year. Behind the counter or working out as well. I also really like the other members. Everyone is respectful and courteous. Recently this location closed for several days to up date all equipment and facilities. As a long time member I am appreciative. I originally was referred to PF by my Dermotoligist. There is the total body fitness machine. So many benefits! It reduces scaring, has Dermatology features. There is a shake feature to loosen ligaments, and stubborn cellulite. I highly recommend. Check out spa prices and see what they are charging for light therapy. I appreciate this gym. The staff is always professional and the gym is always clean. I have never had an issue here. Have been a member for several years and for the price, you can't beat it. I am a black card member and try to utilize the massage chairs, tanning bed, total body enhancement, and other machines. I absolutely love what this gym offers. It's budget friendly for those who want a healthy life style but want it for cheap. I would give it a try for sure if you're debating on joining. This gym has went completely down hill you'll have anywhere from 2-4 employees sitting on the desk in the front of the location. While there is no soap in the bathrooms all Cleaners are empty. I guess the manager really needs to apply if you have time to sit you have time to work. It seems just all friends work here so nothing gets done just left to get gross read more

I have been a member of PF for years and workout many locations. This is a Corporate gym and the absolutely most disgusting men's facilities of all locations visited. Corporate should be raising, not lowering the bar. I have raised concerns with staff repeatedly to no avail. Other review responses with similar concerns direct members to mgmt. I have asked for my concerns to be shared and obviously that results in no change. The pics are worth a thousand words and they were taken 3 weeks apart, with gum in the shower corner remaining for over 3 weeks! How can PF say they value members when they expose us to unsanitary conditions? A health inspection would certainly result in violations. So this is an update to a review from a year ago. I am a regular user of planet fitness but my home gym is the Hudson NY location. I'm writing today because my experience with the staff over the last year has been exceptional, and I have a long lifetime of experience to compare this too. There seems to be less than usual turnover amongst staff here (a sign of good management) and any issues with services and/or equipment are certainly not because of staff inattention. Matt in particular is great, just 100 percent warm and professional. Still think that the playing of Fox News is disgusting and dangerous, but that issue continues. Went to this location intending to sign up for the top end Black plan. Asked for a quick tour and I was told to fill out a guest register. Mandatory information includes DoB, etc. I explained I'd be glad to provide contact info but not private data until signing up. The manager said no tour for you. I couldn't believe it. No benches in the women's locker room. Not a one! Nothing except 1 chair. What the heck? A contract is an agreement tying both parties to specific actions. For example, I will pay, not swear, be masked, etc. The gym will provide a constant temperature, cleanliness, working machines, adequately outfitted locker rooms, etc. PF Hudson has violated its contract. read more

Terrific renovation. Very clean and inviting. Two requests: 1. Reduce the speed on those fans! Have you ever noticed no member gets on the treadmills under the fans? Way too much air (which makes it cold). Check it out yourself. Step on a treadmill under the fans with a t-shirt and see what you think. 2. More recycling bins! This is an establishment with lots of recycling... paper towels and plastic water bottles. I expect (and hope) Planet Fitness would be committed to saving the environment? Then put green recycling bins next to every yellow bin. There are none in the locker room! read more

I just talked to the manager of the Hudson Planet Fitness, Jaiden, and explained to him how my fiance and myself have memberships and we drove there from Catskill to tan, one of the "perks" as they call it of a black card membership, and saw a sign hanging on the kiosk when I went to put my time in. Well we ended up leaving as they didn't have what we wanted to use. We pay 25 bucks a month and a 50 dollar fee annually, I expect to be able to have access to these services or at the VERY LEAST, be contacted of notified through the app itself. I somehow was charged a 10 late fee when I checked my account. So I informed Jaiden of all of this and literally his only answers for me were I can go to a different gym if I want to!!!! You do not leave a customer off the phone without trying to help the fuckery of your situation. If so, don't be in sales. Not once did this manager try to get me to stay with the gym or make my needs met, such as the extra fee they charged me to be waived, NOTHING. Absolutely hands down, the WORST MANAGEMENT around. I would like to speak with the district manager but at this point I don't want a membership there anymore, due to how improper the manager was to me. So when you take two memberships and that annual fee, which isn't much to the chain gym, so about $700, but when you take into consideration that Planet Fitness will no longer have that income over just one person dropping their membership along with my fiance now after hearing this child on the phone, it doesn't take much for word to get out in a town I'm close from. Horrible job planet fitness and it's sad because every other employee I've seen and spoke to their are very pleasant. This person should not be a manager or in management in any kind of way. I've been a member since they opened in Hudson. The most recent renovations have been completed and while it is clean and much brighter, and all of the cardio equipment is spread out, some issues I've noticed is that the dumbbell/weights area is very cramped and crowded by the cardio equipment. I don't that that there are ever that many people using the treads, arc trainers and ellipticals that they couldn't take one or two out and have a shortage. The other issue is that the are no benches in the locker room. I can only speak to the ladies room. There are a good amount of older people that come to the gym and there's nowhere for them to sit. Not to mention, set your things on. Someone pulled two chairs in but how long before those get put back out into the lobby. There are also no hooks to hang any of your clothes in the tanning rooms and one small bar stool. Things end up on the floor. Overall, I like the gym. It's affordable, big and clean And safe for all of its members. I'm just not sure the renovations were very well thought out to accommodate all of its members. I'd heard two gentlemen talking about it being a corporate location and not a franchised one so maybe that's why. read more

True... you can't beat the price BUT! So Ive worked out consistently for 30 years and joined the Hudson Planet Fitness the day they opened. This is my biggest complaint: I've reported "faulty" equipment several times over the years. In addition to cardio equipment I always use the 30 minute workout room so the issues I report are always here. Several of the steps are unbalanced and due to their extreme rocking they are unsafe. I reported this 6 times in 2 months.....NOTHING. I also reported unbalanced weight machines that rock, shake and move. Usually fixed 4 weeks later. This is unsafe. I now know what machines and steps to avoid but this is a LIABILITY issue. Come on Planet Fitness...STEP UP!!! read more

I divide my time between Columbia County and Manhattan, and have belonged to a few different gyms in the city. For the past several years, that's been New York Sports Club, in lots of different locations. I can only compare PF to the gyms in the city that I know, and on that metric they get five stars. The facility is very clean, and feels open and airy. The equipment is in really great shape, although this is a relatively new club, so whether they'll maintain the equipment or not is I suppose an open question. There's a good amount of equipment - both machines and free weights - so I think I've had to wait once. The cardio never seems to be full to capacity, although I've only been there during the morning and afternoon hours, so evenings may be a different story. The price is pretty amazing, at $10 per month. I get a quarter of the gym at ten times that price in the city, along with crowds and poorly maintained equipment in some locations. All in all PF has got everything you need in a gym. If you're looking for something with a very personal approach, and a smaller, more hands-on feel to it, there are other gyms in the area that you might want to check out. But if you just want a clean place to work out where you'll be able to run in and run out, PF is a great option. read more

This is the only gym in the area. They do alright with the amount of space that they have. Good amount of cardio machines and a medium sized collection of weight machines. The layout of weight machines wrapping around the cardio machines makes it awkward to walk around other people. The 1 star review is based on sanitary issues. The mens locker room goes an entire WEEK without someone cleaning the toilets, sinks, maybe the showers probably but I don't use them. The sanitary spray bottles and paper towels are if not always then often empty in the gym/locker room/ and "spa", urinal cakes are not changed, and the garbage is over flowing. EVERY single day the bathrooms should be scrubbed, bottles full, and trash taken out, and bathroom floors mopped. There are too many people using the facilities to not maintain them, very gross. Also why are all the employees sitting criss cross on the entrance counter? It's very unprofessional and is a constant thing I see. It would be nice if the only gym in the area could at least stay clean, they have enough employees that it doesn't make sense. read more

I have been to this gym twice when visiting my hometown... and both times have been terrible. This planet fitness needs a whole lot of updating. Their water fountain has no pressure to it. There isn't enough weight tower equipment for the amount of people there during higher hours. It felt very dirty, the glass mirrors were smeared and I never saw any of the staff cleaning. The planet fitness I normally go to is always being cleaned and much more organized. It just seems like this gym is out dated and dirty. Definitely considering switching to Golds gym so I can have some consistency when I travel. read more

Been going here for 6 months. Either 7-8 am or 3-4 pm. I use the treadmill, 30 minute express and free weights. I have never had to wait on the weights or treadmill. I have had a few people jump in the 30 minute express area and use a machine I was about to get on. I just write them off as rude. I figure it cost me 50 cents a visit and you can not beat that. Never had an issue with restroom or showers. If you want a high pressure personal trainer and full gym I am sure there are other places that will gladly take your money. I always go into a new place with good intentions and if moderately inconvenient things happen, I still try to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep an open mind. That said, the benefit of the doubt only goes so far... I'm rating this as 2 stars (instead of 1) because the staff was okay. They weren't helpful and in fact didn't give me any information, when i changed my membership type, while I saw them over-explain everything to my mom when she first got hers, but they weren't mean-spirited or rude either. First off, there's barely any stretch space. There's easily 50 cardio machines, but probably 10x5 feet of stretch space for a massive gym. I never felt like I could relax and stretch because people were always vying for space in the stretch area. I think stretching is the most important part of working out, and the way the gym's set up just makes it seem like an after-thought. I felt cramped and uncomfortable and like I rarely could get to the balance bar. Second, it feels like no one follows normal gym etiquette. I'm used to being approached by a muscle-head every once in a while. I look like I'm still in high school and usually the guys who are huge, come at you with the best intentions. I always try to listen to what they have to say, then get on with my workout. But, damn! Is there something in the air at this planet fitness??? The guys who did approach me tried to have 20 minute conversations when I was really obviously in the middle of my set. I had headphones in and one guy made me take them out 3 times. Headphones are the universal, 'I'm in the zone, don't talk to me' sign at the gym. Then there was the older lady. Again, I emphasize that I look younger than I am. So, maybe that's why she felt it was okay to condescend. She was sitting at the seated pull down, so I thought that's what she was using. I went for the tri pull down and was promptly met with an 'uhn uhn uhn' and a literal wagging finger in my face. Okay, I'll use something else... but no matter where she went, she proceeded to take up 3 machine parts while doing the workout of 1. And she was really obviously protective of all those areas and unwilling to let you switch out with her. In fact, I found this was a reoccurring problem. No one seemed to know what switching out was! Everyone seemed to take up more space than usual for the average gym. Navigating it to do my workouts was more than just inconvenient, it was maddening. Finally there seems to be a sanitation problem. The gym is tidy, for sure. There is not much visible dirt and the bathrooms seem pretty clean upon first inspection. But after a week of showering (in flipflops), my feet started to itch... My little sister also had problems with this gym. She couldn't stay long because after a certain amount of time, she'd break out in hives and have respiratory problems. I wanted to like this gym. I did. I was excited to start training again and at a glance, it seems great. But the longer you look, the worse it gets. The other gym-goers are rude and I never left the gym feeling happy-- just frustrated and like I wasn't able to get in a great workout. Spend a little bit more and support a local gym. Staff will be more hands-on and there is usually a sense of comradery in small gyms that was sorely missing here. read more

Its your basic PF. Im actually a fan of their no frills approach. But there have been lots of break ins to people's cars left in the parking lot this summer and PF seems to be doing nothing fast. Where are the surveillance cameras? Where is the giant sign on the window warning these felons " We're Watching you!"? Don't just leave it up to the owner of the mall. Was in the area from out of town and was looking for a place to work out for like 30 minutes. I asked if they had a daily pass and the guy at the desk wanted to charge us $20 each for 24 hours of gym use. That is preposterous so we left. Other gyms, like Retro Fitness, regularly send out free 3 day passes and have daily and weekly rates as well as deals for temporary memberships. The silly policies set forth by Planet Fitness have turned me off from the franchise if I was looking ever looking for another gym. read more

This gym is newer and packs great options into its building. All the equipment was excellent and clean. Customers seemed to be fairly religious about wiping down equipment after using each piece. I bought the Black membership so that I can use clubs all over the country. Very handy and you know what you will find in most PF facilities. Nice to see the shower/changing area was spotless. Give me a clean changing area and I will sing your praises all day long. Attention to details will make this particular PF a huge success. As with all PF gyms, love the "no meatheads" rule. A single meathead can ruin a workout for dozens of people. read more

This is a great gym for the price. The machines are state of the art and the floor space is huge. Members are very considerate and clean off machines after use. The locker rooms are basic and I wish they had soap in the showers. But on balance I'm very happy with PF Hudson. read more

Was charged twice for a day pass- I returned the same day to correct the charge and the staff wasn't able to help me- told me to return the next morning. Returned the next morning and spoke with the assistant manager who was unable to help me and rude- keep in mind- I just wanted the charge reversed- that's it. He told me he would inform his manager who would be in the next day and they would reach out to me- never called. I had to call to follow up. They still couldn't figure it out. Worst customer service especially because I was trying to fix an issue because of them- made me jump though unnecessary hoops and never tried to help or fix the situation. Never once did they apologize not only for the mistake but the complete inconvenience. If you go here- pray you never have a billing issue. read more

Coming from a primarily 24-hour fitness super sport regular, I like how clean and new the machines are here. Standard planet fitness set-up. Rarely ever "crowded" at this location and you can always get to your machine without waiting. Good vibe. Only cons: they close relatively early on weekends, and they only have smith machines, therefore no deadlifting or squatting. Squatting is manageable, but it's never recommended on a smith machine (technique is different, no balance, knee injuries, lower back injuries, false sense of security, etc.) To some people that's a deal breaker, but that's how all planet fitness' are these days. read more

I'm a very happy customer given the $10 per month it cost for the basic plan. The Hudson NY location I go to is always clean and it's rare to not have an available machine that suits you. Showers are as good as I've seen. The weak point may be in the training department but for the price they are doing a fantastic job. This place will get you fit if you go! read more

I came here once with a friend and I guess I don't like gyms but this gym in particular was pretty bad. The parking lot is confusing, the whole inside area is smelly like a horse-barn, and the vending machin likes to eat 5-Dollar bills. Plus on top of all of that the snacks selection is lacking because after a while I got bored with exercising for such a long time with my friend so I wanted sit down and have a snack but there were'nt any anyway.
