Be wary of their fees. IXL charged me a $25 fee because my credit card expired. I know it says in…read morethe agreement that they reserve the right to charge the fee, but it's a poor customer experience to be charged $25 simply because I didn't realize my card expired. I'm sure most people do not memorize and track their credit card expiration dates. A heads up BEFORE the card expires might be a better way for the club to handle it, rather than charging the fee after the fact. It's a good way for the club to make some extra money though; think about how many members have a card on file to pay and how many expire each year. They make $25 on each one. The people at the club desk just tell you to call the support center, which is really just a third party which manages the payments; they have no authority to waive fees. I called and left messages for IXL management twice, received no response

My family has been at Midtown Jiu Jitsu for over a year now. My kids (now 6, 8, and 10) started…read morefirst, and I joined in eventually too. It's been one of the best decisions we've made. My kids have done MANY types of classes in the Kingston area, from dance to gymnastics to karate to soccer, and this place is my favorite of them all and my top priority to encourage my kids to stick with for the long haul. Coach Malachy manages that rare balance of fun and structure. My kids are learning real skills, but also growing in confidence, focus, resilience, and respect... while having fun. For adults, the classes are both challenging and supportive. I'm a pretty slow learner, but I've always felt welcome, have fun, and enjoy a community full of genuinely kind, down-to-earth people. The gym is always clean, organized, and really feels like a family environment where everyone (kids, teens, parents) is growing together. Huge thanks to Coach Malachy and Coach Stephanie for creating someplace so special. I can't recommend Midtown Jiu Jitsu enough, for any age.

Her son is wonderful and had it not been for her presence we would not have left. Each time she was there, my son did not even want to get out of the car. I was never comfortable leaving him for class when she was there and would always stay and watch. She was never that horrible to my son since I was there watching her but would constantly confront me asking what was wrong with him! The way she talks to the children is abusive and at times boarders on assault. I cannot believe this place is still open....
