Listen Planet Fitness isn't a high quality spot but really I have generally enjoyed this place. Sometimes there is some broken equipment but usually I can easily find my fave workout stations available. The only thing I hate is their obsession with Fox News. Ugh. There are two rows of TVs, one on each side of the building so when you are on bike/treadmill you can watch. Two TVs on each side are ALWAYS Fox News so I am definitely suspicious of mgr and their propaganda goals. One TV on each side is CNN, one is ABC or NbC, one is work out, etc. But overall it's good. And it's a Pokémon gym so you can work out your Pokémon while you work out! read more

No Judgement Zone, means NO HARASSMENT at any giving time. it's their motto blasted all over the front door, all over the fitness complex. Harassed by an employee none the less w/the manager standing there. I say change the motto makes it sound like PF is hypocritical and don't stand by their motto... And it's definitely weird when the manager finds it exhilarating to clean the men's bathroom, not any bathroom, but the men's bathroom. Last, but not least. When you tell the manager(Clint) that your spouse is a disabled veteran and can't speak for himself. He proceeded to speak three more times to him. Nope, I put a stop to it, we turned to leave to let our insurance company handle the matter, but he reached out and tried to touch my spouse, nope. Watch the video!!!!! Shocked to see some of the bad reviews on here as I've only had good experiences at this gym. I've been to planet fitness locations all over Indianapolis and this one is arguably the best. It has more machines than other locations and the layout is awesome. The lighting in the place is a huge bonus. It provides a really good ambiance for my workouts and has never been too crowded. This PF also plays way better music most times than any of the other PFs I've been too. All around, great experience. read more

It's a fantastic, large, no frills gym. If you simply want access to a large number of machines to exercise on your own, it's impossible to beat Planet Fitness at only $10/month. There's pretty good utilization of machines during the evening rush hour, like 4-7, but even at these peak times I can almost always find an open machine of the type I want. Plenty of parking and plenty of machines are this large location. The bathroom, locker room, and showers are large, clean, and well maintained. I don't have any experience with their premium services - massage, tanning, or personal trainers. read more

WORST GYM EXPERIENCE EVER Take your money to the YMCA, LA Fitness anywhere but here Within my first month of having the $25 a month black card I was charged that monthly fee 4 times for $90. The only explanation Planet Fitness would give me is sorry man I don't know why it'd do that. Long story short I had to fill out paperwork and speak for extensive time to my bank to get the 3 extra charges (which had no place being taken) gone. All done by my bank planet fitness was of no help. Ironic since they took it The workers are unbearable firstly Ali. An entitled young boy who talks behind guests backs but panics like a school girl when confronted with any issue. The guy sits on his phone scrolling mindlessly for hours but groans and tries to make any excuses he can when being asked to any minor part of his JOB. Can tell he's lacking male role model at home On another note the bald head manager is a Pervert I've overheard him asking girls who barley look legal (him being 45+ keep in mind) if they need any help oiling-up for the tanning bed he will be back up front if they want help and then doing a perv smile which I have only seen met with awkward laughs of disgust. (Perv runs the place most likely why a few of these reviews complain of nothing done about pervs, interesting ) They profile heavily, if a young man with glasses and a goofy haircut come over comes in goes to the front desk asking for a massage they get that ready for him in a second no questions asked. Even with me being in there 2x a day for a while I guess me being 19 with tattoos and wearing things on my head they seemed to be unable to fathom I had the black card and constantly ask for proof of black card while I just tried to enjoy activities throughout the gym. At the end of the day 95% of the front desk workers are unbearable to interact with. Not worth the hassle. Absolutely Terrible location read more

You get what you put in, in regards to your workouts. Overall a great place at affordable price. They will be somewhat busy at peak times such as after work. They have weight lifting machines and some free dumbbells. They have Smith machines but you won't be able to do your squats, bench press, etc with a free bar. Lots of cardio machines. Elliptical, treadmills, and such. Bathroom is typically fairly clean. I've never used the showers. I would bring a lock for the lockers to be safe. One report of stolen items. Most lockers are in the locker room but they have a small amount just outside the bathrooms/locker rooms. Don't leave anything valuable visible in your car. Disinfectant. In comparison to the other planet fitnesses I have been to, ( a whole 5 of them) the people that come here are great about wiping down the equipment after they use it. Why is this practice not so great everywhere?? The gym is well lit, I've never had to wait a long time for a tanning bed, the staff is friendly and they gym is well lit. Through the week in the evening it tends to get busy, and a little less busy on the weekends. This is my Favorite PF so far. read more

Always a good price for what the gym offers especially since I travel for work the Black Card Membership works ideally. Only Downfall is the hours of operation on the weekends at this location. 4am workouts are my go to, 7am is too late to start the day and thus it ends up packed in result. It'd be nice if it were open 24/7 not 24/4 1/2. ‍ I work around it though, sometimes a late night workout on a tempting Friday night is helpful for remaining dedicated and not partying your hard work away. I spent two years trying to cancel my membership with letters and phone calls. Nothing has worked I just had to call and have Aj cancel my membership over the phone while he acted like douchebag after I explained my problem and proceeded to hang up on me after I told him what was going on. I had to call back and deal with that dumb automated shit AGAIN and deal with Aj dumb ass. this place sucks and steals your money and the people there are total douchebags and the environment is so awful. read more

Planet Fitness really is a judgement free zone. Staff always are polite and friendly and greet you when you come in and leave. Members generally stick to themselves and are courteous to wipe down machines before use. I like this location the most because even when it is busy there is ample enough machines to use. Always plenty of parking as well. They offer premium $20 a month memberships that allow you to bring a friend each time you come as well as use the massage chairs and tanning. I don't utilize these as I don't have my own membership but use my husbands to go with him each time. Regular monthly pricing is $10 a month. My only fault is that there does seem to be some things that makes you feel like they want you to not stay healthy- bagels, pizzas, tootsie rolls- this can all be tempting if you are trying to lose weight. read more

*BEWARE* Do not ever purchase the 1 year membership up front at Planet Fitness. I purchased this plan for $199 a couple of months back and ended up having to move 1 hour away from this club for work. When I called in to see if they could transfer my home club to a location closer to my new location, they said "unfortunately the club by your new location will not make any money off of you for transferring, so we are not allowing you to transfer." I then asked if I could get a pro-rated refund since I still had ~10 months left at that club and they said "it says in the fine print in the contract that you signed that you will not get a refund of any kind for any circumstance once you buy the up front membership" Finally, I asked them point blank, "so you're telling me that you're going to refuse a transfer and/or a refund even though you fully understand that I have moved 1 hour away from your location and will never be able to visit again?" And the answer was a very unapologetic "Yes." I am not normally a person that reviews establishments online, but I felt the need to warn potential customers of Planet Fitness about their unfair and predatory business practices. Planet Fitness has made it very clear that they do not care about their member's health or well-being and only see members in terms of $$$ signs, as is evident by the comment about "not making any money off of you". There are plenty of other high quality gyms around the area to join including LA Fitness, Orange Theory, and Anytime fitness to name a few. Please save yourself the money and the headache of dealing with Planet Fitness and take your hard earned dollars elsewhere. Edit: It was very nice of Planet Fitness to respond and very unapologetically confirm that they are more than happy to take the hard earned money of their most loyal customers per their predatory membership agreement. I always leave this gym angry.. The staff here is young and doesn't like to help. There's a thick chick who works the desk with dark hair who is just always in a bad mood and I've even brought guests with me to this gym who have asked what that chicks problem was without me saying anything! She has a horrendous attitude. Machines are broken all over the gym that for whatever reason just keep not getting fixed. I literally had the leg curl machine snap on me and cut my leg one day and when I told the staff they legit could not care less. The bathroom is always disgusting and the plumbing is always messed up with overflowing water. This gym is also always packed with people which sucks "I know that's not the managements fault" but still something to note. Every time I have tanned the bed has started unprompted without me touching it while I'm still putting lotion on. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because there's a guy that works the front desk with really long hair that is actually a really nice kid and actually DOES try to be helpful when he can, that guy is awesome. read more

Today my wife and I decided to go to the gym and work out. So we go to the closest planet fitness to us which is in the same plaza as Tuesday morning and party city. This is the gym that we attend almost every time and we have a pleasant time every time, the workers are very nice and greet us and ultimately make us feel welcomed. Today the gym was really cold and I didn't think much of it until I started my workout and it sort of effected it in a weird way. Other than that this is a very welcoming environment with all ages, sizes and colors are welcomed and accepted. And those are the places I feel most at home. read more

I come here mainly for the tanning. This is the only location in Indy where they offer the Level 4 super beds, which I like much better than the other beds. The gym is clean, the staff is polite and the prices are great. Don't bother with the $10 membership.. upgrade to the Black Card for $20 a month and take advantage of all of the other benefits it has to offer. read more

This location is okay. They do have a ton of equipment but honestly the set up just isn't for me. They have all the weights in front of all the machines. So if you want to lift you're just being watched by all the people on the ellipticals, treadmills, and bicycles. Plus its is always packed. I feel like I'm always fighting to get machines I like. Anytime I go It makes me feel uncomfortable. So honestly that's the only reason I'm only giving it 3 out of 5. It's just not my style, but it's not a bad gym at all. Ok I'm a regular at the beech groove location but I come here a couple days a week so I might as well review this too. This place is immaculate. There is always a staff member cleaning and the bathrooms are spotless. The locker rooms are just like the high end gyms around here. Spacious and you can put your lock on there. I like that the lockers have the "mesh" design so you can kinda see in the locker. Sometimes I evidentially use way too much oxygen during my workout and I forget which locker I put my stuff in so I don't look crazy trying to get into every locker. Showers are nice and provide soap, they have hair dryers and a dressing room. Two big mirrors. The gym itself: I like the beech groove location better but a lot of weight lifters will disagree with me and I'll explain why. This gym has rows all facing a giant mirror. 4 rows are cardio machines then the free weights and serious weight stuff is in front of the mirror. I could care less about a mirror but I know for people who use weights you need to see your form. I've never had a problem getting on the arc trainer or treadmill. Black card member benefits: Freaking awesome. This place is better than beech grooves black member perks because of the layout and perks. The massage room is awesome. It's dark and relaxing. It lets you get away as you lay down (or sit depending on your choice of massage). Tanning beds are insanely awesome. They have 3 different type (and levels of beds). One stand up and 2 different laydown. 12 beds in total. Staff: Ok I've looked on glass door and I know these employees get paid very little. With that said, how do they find these employees?? At both locAtions these guys not only get along with each other But they actually like us customers. They will talk and joke Around with you. They clean, actually like their jobs, and are very helpful. I really want to know how they have such great staff for what they pay them. I am out of space to review :) read more

I switched from LA Fitness to Planet Fitness about a year ago and LOVE IT. Staff is very nice and helpful. Very good equipment. Not ever a wait. Free tanning. Free training. And the list goes on. I've been a loyal member of this PF location for 2 years with minimal complaints! One morning, however, I was asked by the male desk attendant to take a bin of towels (almost as tall as me, mind you) to the women's locker room since he was the only one working and was male... I *get* what he was asking but *why* are you asking? Yes, I come in almost every morning but unlike you, I am not an employee of Planet Fitness. Other than that interesting interaction, the front desk is friendly and they have been willing to help me when I need it. The gym equipment works and I see the gym goers cleaning their equipment! #adulting If I could make a suggestion to management, it would be minor: pay close attention to the paper towel dispensers as they consistently clog. Poor customer service! If you try to cancel your contract they will lie about when you need to have it done so they can charge you a non refundable charge! The manager Cody Compton wasn't helpful at all and will lie to your face! Don't bother calling customer service because they are there to serve the business not the customer! This place is clean and has nice equipment. They say its a judgment free gym, but I didn't feel that. However, I'm a physique competitor. The free weights only went up to about 80lbs. A great gym for beginners or older people. I think my grandmother would enjoy it here; its just not the gym for me. I find it odd that they have pizza day for their members. to work there is awful. Definitely for night staff. The pay is terrible with no benefits. But they expect you to bend over backwards for them. Upper management couldn't care less about the staff and it's such an unprofessional environment. Staff is constantly talking about other staff in derogatory or disrespectful ways, even to the members. As a gym, it's pretty good and clean but the company itself is rather backwards. I'm only giving this gym 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason, is because of the free weight limitations. Corporate doesn't want big body builders in their gyms because they say it detours other people from joining when they see big body builders working out. The truth is that some of us are just big people. Myself, larger than average. I stand at 6'8" and for me to grab a 75lb dumbell set to start doing dumbell bench press is a warm up weight. 75lbs is the highest the dumbells go. Also, just one free weight bench would be nice. Bench pressing in a smith machine is o.k., but you need to be able to build stabilizing muscles and you don't get that with smith machines. Other than that, the staff is friendly, polite, respectful, especially Murphy and JB. The place is clean, and they strive for their members to wipe down equipment. Plenty of cardio, and other perks. Keep up the great work PF. I love a place where I can walk in and get good sweat while also somehow getting some of the best people watching around. Great selection of equipment but usually needs a cleaning before use. This isn't your fault you can't control the monsters that leave their funk all over the place just a little fair warning to anyone who doesn't what to soak in the back sweat of the older gentleman that is doing the world's most interesting version of a lat pulldown.
