Very poorly managed..spoke to the manager several times concerning cleanliness and management themselves walk past sanitation stations with empty disinfecting bottles or towels and never fill them..tanning facilities are impossible to use because of the new sign up system supposedly to clean but staff never goes back and cleans..wastebasket overflowing again towels and sanitizer empty..floors dirty and gritty..absolutely disgusting read more

The trainer at this location is not friendly at all in my book. She has come up to me at two different times. One at the old location saying I couldn't use a machine a certain way to target a certain area. Yet there was no signs that said don't use it this way. And another time was a machine because someone came up to her saying they wanted to use it. When there are others they can use as well. But they didn't even come up to me and ask which I would've let them. I just don't care for domineer. Just ruined my workout and morning. read more

Only complaint is its not open 24/7. On the weekends I work at 7 am and so I am unable to work out those days. Recently the extended to 10 pm on the weekend but it would be nice to have a 24/7 gym where I could work out anytime. This way I can work out at 3 or 4 am when I am usually up. This has got to be the cheapest gym for all the amenities that you get. At $10/month for the basic plan and around $22/month for all the bells and whistles, you really can't beat it. This place is also really awesome! Aubrey and Austin are great and can answer all of your dumb beginner questions lol. This gym is clean as all get-out too and their amenities are always available and they have tons of classes you can join. Your health is worth it and these guys are great! read more

This is the 5th Planet Fitness I've been to, since I travel for work. Definitely not the best of them. The facility is very cramped, like they didn't design the layout very well. You have to walk in between treadmills to get to the water fountain. There is only one cleaning station - in the middle of the room. The ceiling was leaking one of the mornings I was there - leaking right onto a row of treadmills. The worst part for me, though, is that there were lunkheads here. What I've always loved about Planet Fitness is that its a Judgement Free zone - anyone can work out here and feel comfortable. Well, not so much here....especially with the lunks checking every girl out, in between checking out their pecs in the mirrors, that is. Overall, good for a quick workout. But, glad its not my normal location. read more

Is there an option to open for 24/7? Where I'm from on the east coast all of them are 24/7, I'm an early bird and like to start my day with the gym around 3-4 am. Just a curious customer! This gym is garden variety at very best. The whole premise of planet fitness is embarrassing to begin with but the 10 dollar price tag cannot be ignored. The locker room is average. The equipment is average (and poorly placed.) Great limitations on free weights. But the worst thing about this gym is the employees. It is like they are all medicated dullards. Not a drop is social skills, kindness, or energy. Absolute zombies. The owner of this place must be deaf, dumb, and blind. It would be SO EASY to get enthusiastic employees with energy and a smile. So bizarre. On the other hand, many of the members are oddly anti social too. (Maybe it's Jackson itself?) A chimp could run this gym better. I'm only staying because it's close and cheap. PS I was a member at a different planet fitness years ago (out of state) and it was sensational! Great employees , spacious, waaaaay better than this dysfunctional place. read more

This location is advertised as being open 24/5 which is already bs, but on a Thursday night at 10pm the staff said they were closed. Take the sign off your door if you're closed. Don't advertised something if it's not true. read more

The gym is FAR too small for how many people attend. At peak hrs, you end up waiting 15min between sets just for a machine or treadmill to be available. Cancelled membership. Look elsewhere. read more

It's not as bad as some reviewers would lead you to believe. It's a good place to get in a workout until you get too strong, then the lack of DB's over 60#s matter, and the lack of free weights is disheartening. So far I've worked around this as many of the machines are fine. Can it be crowded? Definitely. Don't go at those times if it bothers you. Their hours are flexible so you can go during slow hours. read more

I am now totally dissatisfied with planet fitness. I joined through the app for the black card. Now I find out they took only 10 dollars, and only after 14 days I get a bill telling me I need to use a voided check/account with routing number. What kind of fly by night outfit is this. I haven't written a check in 8 years. I'll I am Never going to give them my information. Get into the 21st century. They can stuff thier membership. While I liked the gym, the way it's managed leaves a lot to be desired. Too crowded and people using the gym for "social hour" and congregating around machines to visit with their friends. One was constantly having to "excuse me" to go get cleaning supplies, "excuse me", to return them and "excuse me" to go from one machine to another. I was wasting more time trying to get around congregating crowds than I was working out. Cancelled my membership hoping at some time they'll get this handled. read more

Absolutely horrible! I went to planet fitness for a few months and it was overcrowded and the staff was very unprofessional so I left I signed a form saying I was canceling my membership, now almost two years later I find out that they are still charging my account. The only reason I found this out was because my best friend had the exact same thing happened to her who I signed up with. I went through my bank and found out that they were doing the exact same thing to me I called the store manager and he said he would talk to his regional manager and then the regional manager said that there was nothing that they were going to do because they can't find the paper that I signed. Which is a total scam because they know exactly where that paper is they just want to scam people out of their money and hope they don't notice. I have contacted my bank and going after them for fraud and writing a review on the BBB. This location has only been open for a short time and it already has horrible reviews maybe they should change their management and get staff that is competent. read more

It's unfair and unethical for Jackson Planet Fitness to advertise if they are open 24 hours, the fact of the matter is they are only open 24 hours Monday through Thursday. I took out this gym membership with the expectation that I'd be able to work out late nights. Only four days a week does not cut it. I find this very disappointing and I'm ready to take my business elsewhere. read more

Searched around for somewhere to get in better shape. This planet fitness can be very crowded at peak hours so I try to go at the off hours. Plenty of good quality equipment with a low monthly price. I enjoy working out here much better than the YMCA and the cost and hours are much better. read more

I have a membership with Planet Fitness and have had it for a while. I live in the Jackson area and travel back and forth from Lansing and Jackson. I am extremely unsatisfied with the Planet Fitness in Jackson! I love the one in Lansing though. In Jackson I have only had one of the workers talk to me and be cordial (besides the required "have a good day"). The place is rediculously small and you can't do anything there. They don't have an area to stretch or to do abs on your own. 90% of the cardio machines are always taken. In the weight area theres no room to move and not enough equipment to satify the number of members they have. There is never anywhere to park and I am pretty sure they have exceded the maximum capacity of the gym. They need to add on to the building or move to a bigger location. It's so frustrating to try and work out there. Also, why is a 24hour planet fitness closing on Fri, Sat and Sun! Rediculous! read more

No complaints until I decided to cancel my membership. Went in December to cancel and the guy behind the desk took my information and said he would close out the membership. Noticed on my bank statement that they still took the money out in January. Called and spoke to a woman named Kelsie who was beyond rude. She accused me of not canceling previously and after arguing with her for a few minutes she cut me off and said she would cancel my membership. Surprise, surprise! They again took money from my account in February. Called again and asked to speak to the manager but was not given that opportunity even though Jessie later acknowledged that the manager was there but was "busy training". He looked up my account and said that Kelsie had advised me I needed to come in again to have my account canceled. That was a total lie! I suspect that she was angry at me for expressing frustration and purposely didn't cancel the account just to cause me more aggravation then lied to cover her tail in the comments. I will never go back to this Planet Fitness again, and you can bet I will be telling my friends about their shady practices. read more
