I like the small quiet atmosphere but unfortunately i don't see them keeping the place clean nor fixing equipment sometimes for up to six months. I luv their red light Beauty Angel total body enhancement machine after a good workout. Their Hydro massage beds helps to eases muscle tension and over all relaxes me. I use their tanning boths and beds to work on my golden tan and removes those taning lines where the sun don't normally shine! Planet Fitness also has the state of the art workout machines and a nice selection of cardio equipment as well. If you are pressed for time Planet Fitness has a 30 minute work out section that will workout your body in record time. Planet Fitness has the cleanest bathroom & locker room out of all the gyms in the area as well. I have been a member for over 8 years. I been going to this the McDonough location faithfully for about 2 years unless I was out of town. I was canceled by a new manager name Tenisha. She has been extremely unprofessional, passive aggressive, and disrespectful. She has embarrassed me Infront of staff and other members. She has been harassing and antagonizing my friends and I since she has started. The gym is supposed to be a zen moment, to get peace and reduce stress as well as a quick workout In between life to maintain good health. To add to it I have automatic draft and they just pulled the fee off July 17th. This is unacceptable. I want to add this manager has multiple negative reviews since she has started. There're many gyms all around so it isn't the club she's a horrible person and should not be in that position. read more

RACISM at this Location This location took my money and then said I can't workout there because I have a balance in Lithonia, Ga. (I don't even know where Lithonia is) The manager Tanisha pretended to be the owner of the gym at the beginning of our conversation then admitted she was just the manager towards the end of our discussion. She kept telling me it's protocol and would not elaborate on why they were keeping my money. She said the gym was going to keep my money because I signed a contract. I explained you are not letting me use the services so how can you keep my money. She told me it's protocol. I believe it was all due to the color of my skin. I'm white and all the employees behind the counter were black. She told me she could have called Lithonia to get the balance forgiven but decided not to. Stay out of this gym unless you want your money stolen, also if you're white and don't want to deal with racism. My wife is black so I know when I'm being treated differently because of my skin color! read more

If you haven't been to a Planet Fitness boy you are missing out (Great prices at a least). This location is off of Jonesboro Rd exit 221 in McDonough, GA. One of many gym options available on this same exit (others options include: LA Fitness, Workout Anytime). Staff: The staff is super friendly and I have yet to encounter lack in communication or excitement. They are consistently cleaning the area and restocking. Equipment: As a member of one of their competitors this gym does lack a few things that others offer such as array of fitness classes, bench press machines, squat rack. However, there are others ways to get in those same exercises. I do enjoy how they have the gym sectioned off by categories. Hours: They are what you consider a 24/5 gym. I've yet to go during late hours. Shocking: Warning they do have nights where they have given away pizza as appreciation. I know....I know I was shocked as well. That's my only gripe is that this doesn't promote the healthiest lifestyle. But for $10 a month. I'll live!! read more

Went to work out and provided my black membership card to Corey at the front desk. He stopped me and told me I needed to update my account. I advised that nothing has changed and my checking account was debited today for my monthly fees as it has been done every month for my past year's membership. I even showed my checking account. He advised that my husband's credit card that was on file needed to be updated. I told him that it was just me and I didn't have that information. He told me that I could not work out even though my account was paid in full. I told him to cancel my membership. He said he needed ID in order to do so. Planet Fitness takes a picture of you for your membership. This pulls up on their computer every time you scan your membership card. He would not cancel my membership and said the ONLY way for it to be done was with him in that location. Needless to say Corey was wrong and needs to read your contract. He is belligerent to customers and ignorant. He does not need to interact with any customers in any format. I did go back with Kristyna and cancel the membership. This staff member asked why I was canceling and I pointed out Corey and advised because of him and his poor people skills. Let me also state instead of her putting the exact reason for the cancellation on the document, she typed in that it was due to the amenities. Overall a complete joke. Your staff is incompetent and covers for each other. FYI- Planet Fitness members - you can cancel your membership by mailing in a certified letter. As a side note when I left it was pleasing to see Corey pushing a mop bucket heading to the restrooms. That is were he needs to stay without stating the obvious. The trainer for the Design Your Program didn't help me at all. He read the entire schedule to me and that's it. The gym wasn't willing to give me a different trainer. They wouldn't accommodate my schedule. Don't sign up for the year because you won't be able to cancel your membership before a year is up. read more

Was charged monthly fees a day before the facility in McDonough closed. Members were promised a partial refund for the closure period. No refund received. Cancelled membership in person in May when the facility reopened. May just happened to be the month my current contract ended. Charged monthly fees in June despite my account showing that my membership was cancelled. Called the facility, but there was nothing any one could do to help. Was told to wait 24-48 hrs for someone from the corporate office to contact me. There's clearly a disconnect between the individual facilities and corporate office. This isn't the right way to do business. read more

The hours are terrible, they falsely advertise that they're "24/5" but they really aren't. The facility halfway makes up for it as it is actually very spacious and clean. The staff is also nice and really friendly. Other then for the hours being completely sucky due to the false advertisement of being 24/5 (would be better if it were 24/7 like some other locations in the Atlanta area) it's a great place to go workout for the price. read more

Do not believe the "No commitment" joining memberships, they have clause that are not explained. I went in this location yesterday to cancel my membership because I am moving. The cashier said ok it will be $58 because it's a 12month membership I said no it was no commitment in February. She said oh let me call my manager! The manager comes and she is not only unprofessional but she's very unknowable! She said I don't remember then say it was ended January, I said no it was when joined!! Then she says let me check the email, she then comes when BS saying on it was only the basic membership and you have VIP! Really so I pay more to be in a commitment that I don't want. I don't believe a word she said and would like to speak with a "Real manager". Update to the comment below, who really reads 70 pages of small print when the promotion is what it is???
