I signed up and went in the next day. Though, no mention of it was in the contract that I signed, they said that I would need to use their mobile app on my personal phone to come in. I was never advised of the need to use my cell phone for their purposes. My Texas ID and a copy of the signed contract with them is not good enough for entry!!! read more

Both massage chairs are worn out. Cannot even read the instructions because they are so old. Hydromassage table is frequently not in working condition. Facility is kept clean, the many various workout machines are generally in very good condition. read more

The gym is large but fills up in the evenings. The massage chairs are outdated. Was told something about bringing my backpack with me to stretching area, and two other "cute" girls were right by me with two duffle bags and a gallon of water each and nothing was told to them. Visiting Midland and stopped in to get a workout. Not sure why its rated so low. The staff was super friendly checking me in and my guest. The place is huge compared to the one i go to in CA. This planet fitness had so much space to workout and live how they had the different sections for the workout equipment. Also the bathrooms...fancy. My regular planet fitness is only a few months old and the bathroom isn't even as nice as this one. No complaints from me read more

Asked the front desk multiple times to have someone get people out of the 30 minute circuit area that just sit in equipment on their cell phones. No one came. Staff wander around ignoring the issue while 6 of us were trying to use it for its intended purpose. This happens almost every time I'm there. I even time the time to ask the staff before I begin my workout and nothing. Pretty sad. Wish I was able to be there when an actual manager or responsible adult is in charge. read more

Cardio equipment is typically available, however the weight areas is always overcrowded and has an abundance of what PF calls "lunks" pretty much impossible to use any of the weight machines unless you plan on waiting in line for an hour till mongo decides he is done with it. PF is supposed to be an environment where this doesn't happen but the Midland PF is full of lunks and woman working on their Tik Tok posts. read more

Very rude workers, I called to ask questions they are disrespectful and rush you, one just hung up on me because "i was asking too many questions" I just want to know what I'm getting myself into, and what amenities they all have before getting a membership. I went up to the gym and there was a homeless person out front just there with all of his trash, workers didn't care, all of them had AirPods in their ear. From what I could tell inside it looked decently clean, so I'll give them that, however I don't recommend supporting them here, very rude staff that doesn't seem to care. Found out that you have to send mail to your gym for them to even cancel your membership, too many hoops for something so simple. read more

Think anyone can read that response and see how this location misses the mark. Anyone that has an issue with my gym after 4 visits should get their money back. I still go and had to walk out because of people hanging out on the machines doing absolutely nothing but watching people work out. Some get real creative and set their cellphone on the weight racks with their girlfriends on FaceTime so she can keep an eye on him while I navigate around him, her and the device. I still see children that are obvious under your minimum age requirement of 13. Rules are enforced according to maybe who you are and mood of the attendants. I'd say 80 percent of the time there's a membership that's trying to be canceled at the entry and getting told the same thing. I think that has more to do with the gym then your unsatisfied customers. read more

The gym is great. The only bad thing is that I think it's always crowded. Which means people are using it. The massage chair is worth having the black card. I don't use it for anything else. The water massage table is good but i'm sticking with the chair. The free weights area needs to grow. People or guys are always having to wait for someone to get done. But I went early today on a Sunday and I almost had the place to myself. The staff is great. The equipment is good and in great condition. Well kept up for it always needing busy. Definitely a great place to work out . Didn't use the treadmill today but love how they have a giant fan above. Maybe they will get a bigger building one day. read more

Since this is the RIGHT planet fitness. Person on the phone clarifying that I am five hours away. Called to cancel membership. Person couldn't even answer basic questions. They have been closed no notifications they opened back up just started charging account. I went to location 1000 N Midkiff in Midland, TX I enjoyed the gym and everyone there was very thoughtful and cleaning after themselves, but my issue was with the management team. The Manger there name, Monica was not helpful at all. I was very disappointed in the information given to a new member of the gym. There was a promotion going on at the time but was never given the expiration date. I was trying to get a new member to join as well under the same promotion but it ended that same wee. there was NO mention, no signs or advertising in the location. If the information was given at the time I could have done everything that same day. I guess is the "new member" fault for not asking questions. read more

I have a membership through Blue Cross and Blue Shield fitness program which means I get to go to any planet fitness across the country. $25/month is all. I travel in my job so this fits me perfectly. I've been to several other planet fitness locations in North Carolina and California, never an issue getting in. This time I went to the Midland TX location on April 28 afternoon and the young girl working at the desk refused to let me in. I tried explaining to her that I have this Blue Cross Blue Shield program and showed her my card, but she was on a predetermined path that I wasn't getting in. She told me I've been getting away with admission to the other planet fitness locations, but she was the first that caught me. I kept trying to get her to understand that I pay for access through BCBS but she was incapable of even trying to understand what I was talking about. I said you're not listening to me, and she said I'm not listening to her. She told me I have to go back to North Carolina and change my membership to a black card in order to use their gym. I left frustrated and upset because she refused to do anything to try to help me. It was easier for her just to send me on my way. She was incredibly rude! Turns out one of my coworkers who is on the same program as I, had the same issue with her. But he asked to speak to the manager and was let in immediately. I mean seriously if there was a manager present she should've gotten out of her comfy chair and walked over and talked to him before refusing me admission. Worst customer experience ever! read more

Crap equipment, locker room closed, efx's all not working, horrible customer service. Worst PF I've ever been to!

I've never been to a real gym before. I'm 5 feet 0 inches tall and weigh 103. I walked in nervous as heck (as a guest with my friend who has a membership) and it was amazing. Everything was shiny and appeared clean (though we wiped everything down, they have paper towels and cleaner for everyone to use), and I actually felt like I wasn't being judged. It's a very spacious gym and has televisions on while you work out so it doesn't seem as long. No one glares at you like "yeah fatty, you belong here." The staff is nice and I overall enjoyed it. If she moves I'm definitely getting a membership here. Absolutely love it. Highly recommend! read more

Workers are rude and don't know how to talk or ask people to do something nicely. i had taken my daughter and was trying to help her " trainer " with english and one of the staff told her to " shut up " and supposedly she wasn't speaking to her. i think that was very rude and disrespectful coming from me because she was just trying to help someone that didn't really understand english. read more

I went in to cancel my membership there's nothing wrong with planet fitness I just haven't been in a very long time. But Melissa and Laura helped me so much after hearing so many different things about canceling a membership. They were so patient and Melissa was even training Laura I believe. This place has poorly trained people and the policies on the massage chairs for black club members are ridiculous. I travel throughout the US for work and this is bar far the worst Planet Fitness. Unfriendly staff and the cleanliness is also sub par for what you expect at PF. I will be traveling the extra 20 minutes to the Odessa PF Well Leslie, came back to Midland PF again to see and still bad. No one in line for massage chairs and still a 5min coin. I have to go back and sign in again for another one. I do love PF but will be encouraging people to go to another location or join a different club. This is the gym I go to when I'm in Midland. It's open 24 hours and machines, especially treadmills and bikes are very plentiful at almost every hour of the day. It's very large so you're not likely to feel crowded here. Only complaint is that the bathrooms can often be gross, at least the men's one, otherwise they'd be getting 5 stars. read more

I'm not a member, my brother is I'm a member at hero's gym but for the convenience my brother and I go together to planet fitness until one day they decided not to let me in because I didn't carry my ID that day and I'm there EVERYDAY ! Not going there anymore, my brother too AND everyone that signed up there because of me. read more

Nothing too bad about this place. Hours are great and the staff is friendly. I must say it's quite a crowd in the afternoon through the night. It doesn't really seem to die down till late. And even in the morning; quite a few people. Don't mind it too much and sharing, but it is nice to jump from piece to piece without waiting on someone. walked in to Planet Fitness in February to cancel membership and was told I needed to do that online. I got online, and it only let's you change level of membership- not cancel. Of course, went back in person but gym was closed from covid-19. At that point, app was not letting me access any changes since they were temporarily not billing due to covid. Fast forward to July 17, I get $23 monthly fee out of bank account. Then 2 weeks later, Aug 3, another $43 deduction for annual fees. I called gym stating my annual renewal date was in April and I've been trying to cancel membership since before then as to avoid the fee. But was told theres nothing they can do about it. I was very upset about $66 out if my bank account within a 2 week period, for something I was unable to cancel or contact for 3 months because they were closed. However then,"since I was upset and so they could accommodate me, the girl said she COULD go ahead and cancel my membership" . But I thought I had to come in to do that? The take away is, Apparently they give you the run around to not let you cancel, so you keep getting billed. Yet can adjust the policy when convenient to them. If course, any refund is "out of their hands and "per contract" the annual maintenance fee cannot be refunded. Despite my efforts the past 6 months to avoid this situation. And, there have been no correspondence stating when billing was to resume after closing for covid. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE ! read more

After being a member for over a year I finally had to cancel and go elsewhere! I was tired of going to a dirty gym. They are always out of cleaner and paper towels which mean no one cleans the machines GROSS! The staff is worthless and does NOTHING! Was told that all I had to do is tell them that I would like to cancel whenever I leave. I called and canceled more than once. Two years later and I'm still getting charged. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Facility is always clean. They have every tool to help you be successful and make you feel comfortable.

The gym is clean and has a ton of treadmills, but I really wish they had more room in the weight area and a STAIR CLIMBER! (Hope you're listening PF!) price is great but I'd consider leaving to go to another gym that has a stair climber. Why have 20 treadmills but not that?? read more

I joined this club 2 years ago, noticed that it does take them way to long to fix broken machines and the people aren't exactly customer service oriented. However, it is close to my house so I put up with a few issues, and have never said a word...until, 8/11/2020 when finishing my workout and headed to the men's locker room, Monica, I guess she is the manager, began harassing me about not wearing a mask, even though there were a considerable number of people without them close by, and my understanding of the PF policy is wear one in and out but not while working out. She apparently was having such a fun power trip busting an older male she followed me into the men's locker room and continued with the threats. On my way out I gave her my card and told her what she could do with it and PF, she at least told me to have a nice day......the irony of it all was that I had just given them a good review as to the way they have handled this COVID mess...looks like I was premature... read more

Started going back here again once they opened back up. When I walked in, in the morning, I was greeted by 2 employees enthusiastically with their faces glued to their phones. I scanned my card and still their faces planted on their phones with no welcome. I thought whatever no biggie so I go workout and I'm watching them clean the machines. My 3 year old niece could clean better than those kids. I mean having to juggle their phone time and cleaning, not an easy task. I finish warming up and got to the treadmill and the trash can in front of the 30 min workout zone literally overflowing with used paper towels. I head towards the 30 min workout zone and you have all the meat heads using the equipment not because they are doing the 30 min workout but because they don't want to wait for the other machines that are being used. Every time I try to use that area you have people just sparingly use some of the machines. read more
