My friend took me here as a guest last week for leg day and to our surprise, half of the machines we wanted to use were out of order. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the gym seemed overall clean, but it was a bummer that so many machines were not working. My only other critique on planet fitness is the lighting in here is a little bright and harsh for my liking, as I'm used to a lower, dimmer light at my gym, but overall we still got in a decently good workout, despite not having all machines available. read more

I love coming to my local planet fitness! Out of all the locations I've been to across the country, this location is one of my top 3. I always find myself comparing other planet fitness's to this location, and majority of the time, this one always comes out superior. It's in a great location. There are other popular vendors and restaurants in this plaza so the closest parking area to the gym does tend to fill up fast, however, this planet fitness is located within a Publix Plaza so while close parking may not be accessible, there's always plenty of parking within the plaza to use. The staff are always so incredibly kind and helpful. I am always greeted by an employee upon entry. The gym feels large in size and the renovations that were made within the last 6 months really helped make the experience of the gym overall better. I appreciate that the staff keeps the gym and bathrooms clean for the most part. Only deduction in stars is because there is always at least one machine out of order any time I go, which can be annoying. But for the most part, machines out of order are fixed at a responsible speed. And there is about 2+ of every machine (some exceptions) so if one is broken there likely is another machine to use in its place. read more

First of all we are being told a fitness instructor was going to be interviewed/hired, for the last 2-3 months. Secondly the TV set up is basically non-functional for over a week. Third, the "Red Light Therapy," booth is not working, properly, so no true value. So the NEW things they advertised to get NEW customers is not functioning. Turn on the AC in the side weight room!! It is 87' outside, hot and smelly inside. 9 vents and nothing coming out. AC has not been turned on in side area since renovations done 3/4 of yr ago. AC in main area is not enough to drift over and cool another large area. Clean all the nooks and crevices of machines so when working out we are not staring at all the gross bits we humans leave behind. Water fountains are broken again. They break every three months when the filters need to be replaced but instead of swapping them out right away they leave them off for week or more just depends on ‍ read more

I joined a little while ago. I was told I can go to another location for trainer assistance. I'm very aggravated that they offer no military/veteran discount yet swarms of high schools kids everywhere are allowed in for free all summer. They rot on the machines buried in their cell phones and don't bother cleaning the machines when done. And no staff in eyesight to monitor this. Put out the word that machines are no cell phone zones and kindly stand off to the side if you must use, or create a small break area. One kid sat on a machine for 10 minutes watching videos. Girl today rotted on three different machines and didn't clean any of them. Yet 5 staff members behind the desk talking amongst themselves. This is very disappointing. read more

I really like this Planet Fitness. The staff are always pretty friendly when coming in and when leaving. The facility is pretty well-kept including the bathrooms and machines are rarely unusable. Despite being the closest to UCF it doesn't feel like a college gym as there's a wide variety of age groups using this facility. It is much bigger than other locations I've been too with a great variety of equipment. There was a couple occasions that the hand sanitizer was completely empty and hadn't been refilled for at least a week which I found a bit strange, and some people still don't wipe down equipment after using although I will say most people do which is really nice to see. As far as masks go, most people here do not wear masks when working out although people do respect your space. Overall, this Planet Fitness stands out as one of the best locations and I will continue coming here. read more

I hadn't had a gym member ship in several years, but after an unplanned trip up North in the dead of winter, I was left wondering how I'd keep up my exercise routine when it's 20 degrees outside with a foot of snow on the ground... Fortunately, my brother is a black card member so he took me to his local Planet Fitness as a guest. After a week of being back in the gym, I knew when I got home, I was gonna have to find one here to join. Mr. S and I checked out all the local options and Planet Fitness was by far the best option at their price point. I'm not interested in a gym that will cost me $50+/month and paying for things like a jacuzzi and lap pool that I'd never use. We've got 2 PFs within about the same distance from us, neither super close, but not terrible. I'd read reviews and seen pics so I had a feeling this Oviedo location was gonna be the one. We signed up for a free day pass to check it out and I knew as soon as I walked in I was going to be signing up. The staff are super friendly, the location is HUGE with equipment spaced out a good bit so it doesn't feel cramped at all. We've been going several times a week now for he last few weeks and I have no complaints at all. We love it! read more

Today (6/24/2024) I was scheduled for a "Design your own program" class at 10:30 am. This class requires an appoitment, so I was there early. Finally at 10:40 am the "trainer" showed up and when I told him that he was actually 10 minutes late, with a nasty actitute told me that he taught his classes to the "last minute" and if I didn't "respect" that I could leave. So I left. It is amazing that someone that does not show "any respect" for someone else's time wants the rest of the world to show him "respect". I must admit, I don't have a lot of experiences with Gyms. I've probably been to the doctor's office more times than I've been to the gym. But after those doctor's office visits, I decided it's finally time to start going. To start the new year (First Review of 2022), I'm going to write more about gyms! This gym seems good. I will say I've seen some nicer gyms than this one, even nicer Planet Fitness locations. The staff is friendly but could be better about making sure the members are doing their part wiping down the machines after each use. Most people are pretty good about it though. We live in East Orlando and make the trek to this gym even though there are at least 2 other gyms that are closer to us (LA Fitness and You Fit... I think all of the Anytime Fitness locations closed) For the money, it's good. I wish it was newer and I was hoping something newer was coming to East Orlando, but the Crunch Fitness on Google is now a Burlington, and if you do any "lifting" there, you may end up in the slammer. read more

Tip - they are 24/7. I love this Planet Fitness location. I was a little hesitant my first visit because this is the closest Planet Fitness location to UCF. I was picturing tons of young college students and the venue itself not being up to par. Boy was I wrong!! The staff is always friendly. I receive a hello as I check-in and a greeting when I leave. As Fran C said "the employees just seem happier..." The machines and equipment are always functional and well taken care of. There are TV's on every cardio machine. I tend to just listen to music but my boyfriend thoroughly enjoys watching a show while doing cardio. However, I did watch the Women's World Cup the other night while burning off some calories. Overall, this location is wonderful and a steal in price compared to their competitors. Go join! read more

this gym has racist employees. the white employees don't speak to black people. they are not friendly and one employee a white lady with short hair was acting strange towards me and was very awkward every time I would see her. when I left I said "have a good day," (as the pf employees usually say to the guest as they leave or the guest say it first) and the white lady with the short hair looked at me and then looked away and the white guy with the buzz cut completely ignored me. Planet Fitness is a gym for people who do not want to go to the gym. As long as your quiet and spend most of your time on the phone there will be no judgment. As soon as you start working out and sweating let the judgment begin. You can be as respectful as possible but if you are working out hard the staff will harass you. If Curves allowed Men they would call it Planet Fitness. At $10 or $20 a month if you never go at least you are not wasting that much money. This is PF's customer base. read more

I have been a member of planet fitness for about three years. Like most to gym memberships it's been on and off for me when it comes to going to the gym. This is my third time reinstating my gym membership and promising myself that I will actually use it this time. In all honesty I really enjoy planet fitness as a facility. Pros They have plenty of cardio machines so you Always have a chance to use the one you want to use. They have two of each lifting machines So you never really have to wait for a machine.The freeways are plenty full with two sets of each dumbbells. Last but not least the thing I enjoy the most are the amenities of the Hydro bed and the massage chair. Cons The only reason I do not give it five stars is because you get what you paid for. Unlike LA fitness planet fitness does not have a basketball court or a racquetball court. You go to planet fitness to work out and that's it. The best time to go is either early in the morning or late at night during the weekdays. But my favorite time to go is during the weekends when it's very empty and I don't have to wait for any machines. read more

Went in for my normal workout and there was an issue on my account. The manager at the time did not approach the situation in a professional manner in fact, I left nearly in tears by the way I was spoken to today. I've never had an issue with any of the Planet Fitness locations I've been to and have always admired the friendly employees and the customer service however, the manager at this location was very rude and made me very uncomfortable. I joined Planet Fitness during a promotion they were running for $10 a month with only $1 sign up fee, and a once a year $35 fee. The building is in decent condition, and featured the usual pieces of equipment. They have a interval training section that promotes changing workout stations ever 2-3 minutes with 60 sec breaks in between. This gym is ideal for people new to working out in a gym due to the no intimidation policy. If anyone is lifting weights that appear to be heavy in nature, or drop dumbbells even from 6 inches off the ground they will ring a firehouse bell to let everyone know in the gym a violation has occurred. *TIP* This could actually be more useful if they could approach the person and instruct them on the proper form. The major downside of this specific location is overcrowding. The High School and College presence makes it very difficult to complete a workout session without having to wait in line for equipment. The staff will also provide a schedule of the peak times and advise not to attempt to work out because of the congestion. Overall for $10 a month and no contract it's an ok place to use a treadmill, bike, or a few weights. If you are heavy into fitness and would like full service GYM this may not be the place for you. read more

Also, the behind the counter crew all had mask on but the members didn't. To me the gym is Petre dish of COR-19 waiting to erupt. No work out is worth my life..shame on the people working out for not caring to wear a mask and shame on Planet Fitness for not requiring people to wear mask. Today I had an incredibly horrible experience at the Oviedo planet fitness due to the management. I have been going to this planet fitness on and off since 2009. I grew up in the area and it is very close to my childhood home. I always chose planet fitness because I always feel comfortable there. I've been to many Planet Fitness all over America being that I have moved around a lot for work. While traveling for work, Planet has always been an escape for me and a place I don't need to feel anyone is looking at me wrongly for not being fit. While visiting my hometown I decided to focus on my health and go to my hometown gym where I feel comfortable and unashamed. However, this time was incredibly different. Clair and Mya bombarded my mother and I the entire time we were at the gym, treating us like we were some weird criminals and we did not belong. They proceeded to talk badly about us to the lead manager as if they were gossiping high school girls arrogantly smiling at us while they were doing it. Last I checked I didn't need to be friends with the employees or be accepted to go to the gym. It was so bizarre and unprofessional. Especially when we complied to everything they asked of us. When we decided to complain to the lead manager Ryan (who appears like he would be a helpful, calm man), he reflected disdain due to the preconceived notion he had about us from the gossiping. In less than 2 minutes of talking to this man he freaked out, told us he was terminating our membership and if we didn't leave in that moment, he would call security. Instead of using his authority positively by handling a complaint professionally, calmly and respectfully, he escalated the situation to the extreme! It was so dramatic and unnecessary. Honestly, I am traumatized from this experience. Calling security?!!! For what, a complaint? Since when is complaining to a manager enough notion to terminate a membership and threaten to call the police?!?! Explain the logic in this? As a manager, your job is to DE-ESCALATE a conflict. That's basic customer service. Apparently here, staff can discriminate against you, make you uncomfortable and treat you with disdain and if you speak up you get removed. The immaturity of a person where they threaten to call security because they cannot handle a conversation is baffling to me. I can try to excuse Mya and Clairs behavior due to the fact it's clear they are incredibly young and lack the training on how to logically handle their guests. That is why I didn't bring my frustrations to them in the first place even though I got to the point of exasperation with how much they bombarded us. However, I was shocked with the unprofessionalism Ryan presented. Coming from a man who seems older and could provide a calming mentoring demeanor to the girls, he proved he completely lacked, patience, management, and conflict resolution skills. He invalidated my mothers and I experience, while leaving a terrible example to the girls on how to handle someone you don't like. If a guest bothers you or doesn't agree, it isn't wise to just dismiss them and delete them from life. That makes no sense. That's avoidant, and unhealthy. Instead of hearing us out and viewing us as a human beings, who deserves to be heard and seen just as much as his team does, through taking authority in that situation in a positive manor, he abused his authority to the extreme by making the situation 10 times worse. Going to the gym is hard enough. The shame of being overweight, the effort it takes to break patterns, the energy it takes to keep focused during a workout. With all those things against you, just getting to the gym is a huge victory. To then make people feel bad and uncomfortable while they are trying to become a healthier version of themselves, is the most horrid thing to do to someone. This behavior is unacceptable and needs to be addressed and corrected. My mom has had heart surgery and is very physically unwell. It is actually required for her to go to the gym or she can literally die. I have been pushing her to go and usually when I'm in town I take her to work out and try to motivate her to get better. She does not work so usually can't afford a gym or drive long distances to go. These young adults think it's so easy to ban someone not realizing the deep life threatening consequences that can impact someone's life. Now my mom has no gym to go to because the other gyms are not as affordable or too far. The lack of consideration, and how quickly he discarded us, not caring how his impulsive action can be damaging or even life threatening to a woman in her 60's is just heartless. Him terminating our membership, made it so that we cannot leave a member survey, so we cannot be heard at all. Great until you go to cancel the membership... Perfect gym great equipment and atmosphere. The reason for 1 star is the inconvenience caused during the membership cancellation process. (My goal in cancellation is to prevent automatic renewal)... I went there in person on (Sunday 03/05/2022) as I have to show up in person as if we are still living in the stone age. At that point they say I have to come again next week and if I cancel there I have to pay a $60 cancellation fee. And I only have another month for the annual commitment. And they specifically said come back next week so we can go ahead and cancel it with no charge. I went there today (03/12/2022) and the person said They can't cancel it today unless I pay a $58 cancellation fee. and I have to come back the last week of April as my commitment period ends in May 1st. I feel violated of my rights here where I am not clearly told anything about this before (NOT CLEAR ENOUGH); and this being the ONLY membership that I do NOT have control of managing it, although they have a cute mobile app with all the QR codes and stuff they still have the membership management in the stone age. On top of all that I feel like they are sending me on a loop ragging me to squeeze the money out of me causing heavy inconvenience. Should there be even a commitment for something like this? What if you decide I have a better gym option and want to switch. It completely binds you in and put you in shackles violating your freedom to do so. As a consumer You and I should have the right to chose what gym we use and not only this gym it seems couple of gyms do the same stuff. (24Hr fitness has the same policy but they say it clearly on their website where in this planet fitness no they don't tell anything about those $60 dollar fees anywhere in there website as of today 03/12/2022). If they did this in a different way like a loyalty thing where people who stay longer gets rewarded; that would make more sense. But, putting restraints financially is against my consumer rights is what I believe. I was thinking for a minute hey am I seeing this in the United States? In the land of Freedom where you are financially restrained and forced into a membership. LOL Hilarious! If you were an owner of this gym would you want to keep someone that does not want to be there anyway? I've been to probably 30 planet fitness locations over the years, & this is by far, the best one. Clean, courteous team members, plenty of machines, & just an overall pleasant experience. This was my first time to this location, as I typically frequent the one on OBT, or in Casselberry, but I will be going to this one from here on out! I was so impressed by the sheer number and variety of machines! It's so rare to find a stairmaster or seated row at Planet Fitness, that I nearly jumped for joy when seeing them here. They also have a sort of lounge area, where you can just relax after your workout. I call it "Club Black Card" There are several massage recliners. Not chairs, not tables, a legit, super comfortable, effing fantastic recliner, that are sectioned off from each other for privacy. There are about 8 rooms for tanning, alternating between beds, & walk ins, and there is an area with comfy couches, tvs, magazines, and a waterfall. Love it! There are also tvs at every cardio machine, so you aren't forced to watch what the person next to you is watching. Love this gym! read more

I must say I'm extremely disappointed with this place not because of the club, but the old lady with white hair at the front desk, I believe she's the manager. I have never experienced racism ever in my life until I met this woman. I lived across the street and this gym is perfect and convenient for me and my daughter to work out, and I really love going there. But after being picked on one to many times from her, unfortunately I cancelled the membership. Someone needs to give her an Ethics training so she knows colored people do exist in this world. So so sad. I must say though the Assistant Manager is extremely nice, maybe she should be the manager. Also the workers are great. its so sad in todays world that racism still exist. Honestly the gym itself is not that bad. It's medium sized with a decent amount of equipment. It's not a lot room in between the equipment but it's enough for it to not be a problem. The workers were nice and respectful this morning and everything was clean. My only problem so far was that if you are a young person or a person in shape you will feel really uncomfortable working out in the mornings. A lot of the elderly people and the people who are less fit will try to make you feel like this is not the place for you. I don't think that's fair because although we are in shape we still need to maintain our bodies and we pay for this gym just like everybody else. read more

Seemed like a good deal, so I signed up. Turns out one reason it's so cheap is because they don't have very good equipment. Don't get me wrong, this place is probably fine for people who want to be "seen" working out, but if you're serious about building strength, and you're an average to large sized person, you'll quickly outgrow most of their machines. Just one example: Their back extension machine. On my first day in the gym I could set it to the maximum setting and do over 100 reps, non-stop. When I asked about why there wasn't more weight, the rep LIED to me and said that they didn't make machines with more weight. I knew this was a lie, so I went to a gym down the street, photographed the same machines with 200 pounds more weight, and showed it to the LIAR. He accused me of PHOTOSHOPPING the photo! The "judgment-free zone" thing only goes one way. If you breathe heavy, you get the staff "tsk-tsk" ing at you. I also never had nail fungus before going to Planet Fitness. If you're thinking about joining, be sure to ask yourself if their locker rooms are really clean enough to avoid the risk of infection. I think Planet Fitness is fine for little people, those not serious about building strength and those who just want to watch the women. Because, that's what this really is. A women's gym. read more

I've been going to this location for the last year and it's steadily gone down hill. They consistently have broken equipment that takes weeks to get fixed. The hydro massage beds had 2 of the 4 broken for several weeks. The men's bathroom sinks had 2 of 3 broken for weeks and one of them for over a month. Today's experience was a staff member that seemed bothered to do his job tagging out equipment that is broken and replacing the hand sanitizer in the dispenser. When informed of a problem or something that needs attention he doesn't respond, just stares at you with a blank look. I'm considering whether or not to continue my membership or go to a different location. Follow up comment from Planet Fitness customer service looked like a "canned" response and didn't address anything. I have contacted a manager several times during the course of the year and saw no appreciable charge to fix the problems. read more

If I were a gym owner operating on a business model, I'd probably copy the same concept as Planet Fitness. Inexpensive fees, (I mean, you really can't beat $10/mo) clean facilities, organized workout floor, working machines, free weights, circuit training sections, cardio machines galore, tanning if you like the orange glow effect AND friendly staff. :) Every time I've come here, I've had a productive workout! It hasn't really been that busy and I've never really had problems waiting on any machines or weights. (Maybe it was because it was just a couple of weeks ago before the whole "New Year's Resolution" wave of people..??) Anywho, I heart the purple and yellow themed interior, the fun vibe you get with the decor, (the fact that if you drop weights an alarm goes off because there are sensors in the floor...this was when I found out what a "lunk" meant) :) and the people that come here are serious about working out and not nosey. Now that school is back in session I'm here around 6:45am and it's perfect! Maybe 15 people total. MUCH easier than 5:30pm! The staff is friendly, though I only encounter them upon check in and departure. The machines are kept in working condition for the most part. Right now, there is one that's inoperable and had been for the week. Not sure what the delay is in repairing it; maybe they had to purchase a new one. The facility is always clean, bathroom included. However, I cannot understand how some people don't wipe down the machine when they're done with it. The gym gives you everything you need: paper towels + cleaner. You supply the manpower. Easy, right? Oddly enough, it seems to be some of the older gentlemen who just don't care. I really enjoy going here and the location is perfect for me - plenty of parking, as well. read more

I had the privilege of visting this Planet Fitness for a week while the Casselberry location was completing its renovation. This location definitely is a UCF area location, even during my mid-day cardio workouts, I was caught off-guard with how many people were inside. Now, it wasn't busy, but rather "buzzing." The layout is nicely done, especially for a newbie to this location. Stadium style setup of the cardio area was a nice touch since I didn't have to look over Mr. I'm-Way-Taller-Than-You in the row in front of me to watch the TV. Having the headphone plug-in jack to the TV sound/controller thing on every piece of equipment was nice too. This is something I've never seen before and reading caps while running just isn't fun, but listening and running... well, it's way better :) Overall, I liked the layout and the equipment offering. I'm just not big on being in the college-area and seeing that during what would be "slow" times, it had strong business. read more

A great place to workout for only $10 a month. If you go at the right time you can get by without waiting for a machine, they are open late during the week if you really don't like to wait or are a night person. On the first Mondays they give out slices of pizza. They don't have any classes just the basics some free weights, machines, and cardio machines. read more

Planet fitness has a reputation for not taking your fitness to the next level. Although that can be somewhat true because of the limitation on the weights but in reality for the price it is a really great deal. Especially in the Oviedo, FL planet fitness because almost all the machines are brand new and the staff if very friendly and nice and really enforce the rules so that there would be no intimidation for those who get uncomfortable with weight dropping and other things.
