If the gym is not going to be open during regular hours perhaps posting a sign on the door or sending some sort of notification to all your members would make sense. Gym is showing as being open online but it's not. This is unacceptable!! read more

The hours at this location are extremely frustrating. Even more so because they close the door 10 to 15 minutes before they're supposed to even close this location closes at 11 PM yet. This is now the third time that I have tried to go in at 10:45 and the doors are already locked. While I understand that it is extremely frustrating for employees, especially the younger staff, for people to come in at the last minute, it's even more infuriating for a lot of their members. The hours are bad enough, especially on the weekend, but now they close even before they are supposed to close. not all of us have the luxury of going to the gym before 11 on weeknights or before nine on Friday or before seven on Saturday and Sunday. One of the main attractions that Planet Fitness had was the ability to be open 24/7, this location is never open 24 seven and they don't even stay open until they're supposed to close. Some of us spend our weekend evening/ nights working out, and because this location is not only never 24/7, I can't even work out after 7 o'clock on a Saturday or Sunday, which in my opinion is completely absurd. yes, I understand what an opinion is. So in order to workout, because this location closes before they're even supposed to close and their hours are so crappy the closest 24 hour gym is Bowie. There is NOT 1 public 24 hour gym in Calvert County, and this one started out that way, but then never went back to anything remotely close to 24 hours. I can't even begin to describe how maddening it is to rush to get to the gym only to find out they locked the doors before 11 PM not allowing anyone in who is not already inside. Then the closing time should be listed as the accurate time at which they really close, 10:30 PM. At the very least this location should have the doors open until exactly 11 PM , or change their hours to 10:35 PM since that's the actual time they lock the doors. It is so frustrating that if I wanna work out past 7 o'clock on the weekend, I have to drive all the way to Bowie. Until the hours extended, I would never be able to give a decent review. Especially since on top of them locking the doors before 11, the staff stands right outside the doors just hanging out, shooting the sh!t, for another half hour to an hour. At this point, I'm about to cancel my Planet Fitness membership altogether and join Gold's Gym. I would bet that if we had a 24 hour Gold's Gym in Calvert County this Planet Fitness would lose half if not more of their clientele. Especially since their membership is about the same price with very similar amenities. I don't know that I have ever even written a review for any business, but I am so annoyed and irritated right now I felt the need to speak my mind write a review before leaving the parking lot, while the staff is just kicking it outside the doors that they locked, not allowing anyone in 15 to 20 minutes before they're supposed to close. Regardless of how frustrating it is for people to come in at the last minute your hours state that you're open till 11, (which is bad enough) but now you're not even open till 11, You're actually only open till 10:30 to 10:40. I am aware that I've repeated myself MULTIPLE times in this review, but that's how frustrating and infuriating this location is! I'll end my rant with this, Do better. read more

Been going to this Planet Fitness for a little over a year now. It's my first gym ever so I can't exactly compare it to competitors. What you get is about two rows of treadmills, two rows of other cardio machines, a good selection of the bikes and other types, and a small selection of benches and weights. If your routine focuses on barbells and benches then you'll be having a tougher time here, those are ALWAYS the most sought after sections of this gym so you'll be competing more with other patrons. I, however, focus more on cardio and have had zero issues, there's always machines open for myself and other patrons. Other visitors are chill and everyone minds their own business. Meanwhile, the staff are also very nice and attentive when you need them. I've never had a bad experience with the nice folks behind the counter. It's about as clean as you'd want a gym to be I suppose, though if there's one complaint I have it's that the hand dryers in the ladies room are over the counter. I dunno who chose that but it's just poor design, all it does is get the counter wet. Another thing I hope to see changed is the machines, feel free to see this as a nitpick more than a criticism. They're not horrible, and they work just fine. But as an apple watch user I've seen footage of newer models that can connect with your watch and track your progress more accurately. Those particular machines aren't in this location. I am fully aware that if you're NOT a smart watch user then this is a non-issue, so feel free to ignore this. All in all, I enjoy my time at this Planet Fitness and recommend it for folks that are looking to start regular gym attendance in the area. read more

Works. Prices are increasing. But new equipment has been added recently. The hours suck. The place closes at 7 PM on weekends. I have no time on weekends to go. I work from 9AM-7PM. One of Planet Fitness's selling points is that its open 24 hours. Not this one. It really sucks. There are no gyms in the area that are open long enough. And the workers like to close early or open late. I've shown up before closing, I saw a group of people in the gym. And the one of the workers wouldn't let me in cause it was too close to closing. Even though it was about 30 minutes before closing. But you can still get a good workout and the price isn't bad. read more

Planet Fitness in Prince Frederick (Maryland) advertises handicap accessibility and has a sign for handicap entrance at the front door. Unfortunately, the doors are two door access (enter one set of doors then have to enter another set of doors), decently weighted, and not automatic (push button accessible). I love this gym. I love the staff and people that workout here. I am relative young, highly motivated, and a tetraplegic (paralyzed in both legs and partially in 1 arm). The staff tries very hard to grab the door IF they see me coming. However, that does not meet the ADA standard nor does it make it "handicap accessible". I have spoken to many staff members regarding this issue several times. Unfortunately, nothing has been done. Furthermore, this would not just benefit "me" (one handicap individual in the community) but many people with differing abilities and ages in our community! read more

It's loud and ugly. There's so much distraction going on with crazy color schemes, wall to wall TV monitors, crappy gym music played so loud your own headphones are worthless. Everything enhanced by acoustics. But dishonesty in the price was the final straw, black card is not 24.99, with gym fees and taxes its $32 and way too hard to cancel. read more

Awful. They can't even open on time it 7:00 in the morning. (Pic shows people wait I g) It's dirty, no overnight hours, false advertising on the building that states 24/5 but its not and hasn't been for the past 4 months. They really take advantage of you and dont give you what you expect from a planet fitness. This is by far the worst gym i have ever seen. I wish there was another competing gym that I could switch to. read more

The club doesn't have convenient hours on the weekends. It closes at 7 on Saturday and Sunday.

My son and I decided to start working out 3 months ago. The hours are great, the place is clean, employees friendly. There is enough equipment to get a good work out but sometimes you have to wait for a bench if you are doing free weights. You cannot beat it for the price. read more

there are few free weights and limited benches to workout. if you are not going to use multiple machines for your workout it is not well set up. also there tend to be high school students using most of the equipment and taking selfies rather than working out. however, the low rating is mostly for the near impossibility to cancel a membership. you can easily sign up online but you have to go to a actual location to cancel the membership. furthermore when my membership was cancelled (I even got an email confirming it) planet fitness still tried to draft monthy fees from my account resulting in an overdraft fee. To add insult to that injury, when there wasn't money in my checking account planet fitness charged a credit card I had used once and not authorized them to make any further charges on. the whole process to fix this was time consuming and will prevent me from EVER going to or recommending planet fitness to anyone. read more
