When I first joined, I paid a $90 sign-up fee, followed by $45 bi-weekly payments (approximately $90 per month) for their "Active Hours" membership. The 24/7 option is $56 bi-weekly, which comes to about $112 per month. Initially, I accepted these costs because the location was very convenient--close to my home and practical for my daily routine. Overall, this is a good gym. It has almost everything you need for a solid workout, regardless of your goals. I went 6-7 days a week, and the staff was consistently friendly and kind. However, what I find disappointing--and what many would consider poor business practice--is the lack of clear disclosure in the membership contract regarding what happens if you need to cancel early within the first year. Due to recent life changes, I have to move out of state soon. What I expected to be a difficult, even sad, conversation about leaving a gym I truly enjoyed turned into a discussion about "fine print." I was told I had to pay an additional 30 days of membership along with an "early buyout contract cancellation fee" of 150$. In my view, that fee feels like nothing more than a way to ensure the gym still gets its money--almost as if the gym is struggling with low monthly membership numbers and trying to protect its income. Membership fees are already high in this economy, and an exit fee that was not clearly explained at the time of signing only adds to the frustration. To make matters worse, I later discovered there were other benefits I wasn't told about--such as access to personal trainer classes and gym-hosted events. While I didn't necessarily need those, it would have been nice to know they were available. Another area for improvement is bathroom cleanliness. My routine included showering after workouts, but the bathrooms and shower areas were not well-maintained, especially given the standards the gym claims to uphold. All that said, this gym does offer a great environment and excellent equipment for a comfortable workout. But the business practices embedded in the contract need serious work--specifically around full disclosure. People looking for a better gym deserve to know exactly what they're signing up for, including any expensive and potentially unnecessary fees. They have one of these policies that makes you have to come in person to cancel, which is absolutely ridiculous. it's in the contract. The only reason a policy like that is in place is to make it more difficult, which it does. Then if you want to cancel, you still have to pay 30 days worth of fees again, regardless of whether you set foot in the gym or not. Unethical. I had a medical emergency and had to leave the state, I called to cancel and got the runaround for a week before they finally, magnanimously "allowed" me to cancel over the phone. Then they continued to charge my credit card over and over, I had to fight each charge with the bank and mostly just got blown off when I would call the gym to ask about it. Do not sign up for this place, this practice should be illegal. In fact in some states they have passed laws against operating like this, not being allowed to cancel online, etc.

When I first met with Jay during our evaluation my pup Nalani was very afraid and unsure of someone…read morenew being in our home. She would not go near him or listen to any commands we tried to use. Jay explained to us the approach he would use during training and I told him about the different goals I had for Nalani. I did some research after our evaluation with Jay and decided that he would be the best fit for us and for training Nalani. There are two things that really stood out with Jay compared to the other companies I looked at, the first being that the was no shock collar involved and the second being that all training was done in home with me or my husband. These were important to me because I didn't want to rely on a collar for my dog to listen and I didn't want to send her away to train, I wanted to build that bond with her so we would continue to succeed long after training. That being said we are now two months post training and Nalani does not miss a beat; she listens the first time for all commands and has quickly learned new ones on top of what she already knows! Just to touch on the training aspect there are few things Nalani learned with Jay that I never believed would be possible or even imagined to train her myself. We live in a split level house and before Jay our dog would run and bark at whoever was at the door no matter the person. On our first official training day we were taught how to instruct her to stay at the top of the steps whenever someone rings the door bell and stay there until released. When Jay told us that was our first goal I thought to myself NEVER in a million years will this work! Well, it did! This is just one of the many simple commands that Jay taught us and I never would have thought of myself. It will also be one that will come in handy for a very long time. Another part of her training was to sit whenever told during walks, not to get distracted, and not to pull on the leash. This one took a bit more training but Jay persisted, he kept at it and showed us different techniques to use during our walks to accomplish leash manners. Now I hardly have to even hold the leash and Nalani stays right at my side and never pulls the leash. The last thing I'd like to mention is off leash walking, this was my biggest goal of the entire training, everything else was great but ultimately I wanted to be able to take my dog anywhere and not worry about her running off when not attached to a leash. After Nalani mastered the other training techniques Jay taught us it was time for the off leash training. This actually was learning on my part, I needed to trust my dog and show her confidence to be off leash. It was unbelievable the first time she did it effortlessly. No leash, right at my side, and I had no worry of her running off!! To end this long review and get to the point, Jay is an absolutely amazing trainer! He went above and beyond training Nalani; he met all of my expectations plus more. I have no regrets choosing him as our trainer and plan to use him for any future dog's training. Jay truly cares for the dogs he trains and its obvious the compassion and love he has as a trainer. I would highly suggest him to anyone looking for effective and lasting training.

It can be busy during peak hours but they do a great job advertising when the pool will be busy or closed for swim meets or events. I think the price is also very reasonable.

Why wasn't their any communication advising of this date. So I lost my money and they lost a customer and potential future customers.
