I am a big fan of planet fitness. I don't think a lot of the hate it gets is fair. There are plenty of machines and if what you want specifically isn't available get creative or try something new. read more

Staff is friendly but often clustered at the front desk talking while cleaning supplies remain unstocked. Cardio machines are bountiful as are a lot of the popular weight machines. Free weights/rack area can be really busy and crowded. Lots of space for stretching and resistance band work. Clean locker room/bathroom/shower area. Nice mix of ages/body types/abilities at this spot, which makes it feel welcoming to all. read more

And that includes locations I go to on the more conservative east side. This was the day I came here I came here only a couple of times and my keys and my car and everything in my car got stolen I don't suggest to come here if you do take all security measures and don't put anything valuable in your locker over all the place is good but not safe because that day not only me but 3 others got there stuff stolen the staff was very helpful and got me an uber to my house which is much appreciated due to my wallet being stolen but the parking lot and the lockers are not safe take all safety measures if you come to this location steering wheel lock is a must just in case because you cannot trust other members to the gym and anybody can come in and take your belongings so I would only put something in your locker that you don't really care about like a simple hoodie that you can easily replace. But this isn't the staff fault they do everything right and make it a welcoming environment it's the people who come in everyday that make it unsafe they did everything to help me to get my car and thankfully got it back 24 hrs later with no damages but was traumatizing I would love to come back but too scared of my safety because my keys where never found and that person still has them to this day but I did reprogram my car but unfortunately it's expensive to change the locks so they can still take anything in my car just not be able to turn it on so if you do come I suggest to get a tracker on your car and security cameras in your car for your own safety members are not safe who come in. read more

Typical planet fitness with nice staff. It's usually not packed so plenty of room to use whatever equipment you'd like. Bathrooms are a little dirty at times, but that's probably not as a result of the employees not working - instead it just seems like the clientele that come to this specific location tend to be ... well, less civil and clean that other locations (like shaving your beard on the sink and not bothering to cleanup your hairs - this is a customer problem not a worker problem in my view). Plenty of other amenities to use for a decent price. 30 minute workout session is awesome and easy to use. If you're a serious gym nerd and you're looking for a more expansive offering then there are plenty of other places to choose from. It's a germ jungle in this gym. Try to avoid the bathrooms as some homeless are welcome to use the showers and facility. I've seen the shower containing the redish mold that can potentially be dangerous if not attended to properly. As a gym that can afford every channel on tv should mainly focus on how clean their facilities are instead. If you focus on the tv you can stray away from the horrors of the bathrooms. read more

This facility is an unsanitary dump with constantly broken equipment. The floors are never swept or mopped, paper towel dispensers never filled (when paper towels are put out they just set them next to the dispenser without bothering to load them), machines are constantly broken and left unrepaired for weeks or months, but most disgustingly the water fountain and bathrooms are never cleaned; I've seen blood, gum, tampons and mystery substances at this facility. Complaints have been filed with both PF corporate and the county health department, but it appears none care or bother to ensure this gym is sanitary. read more

My first visit the staff completely ignored multiple people while behind the desk, some of bulbs in the total fitness bed were burned out, and the staff at the front desk was extremely rude when asked about transferring "home gyms". My second visit was this afternoon and the front desk staff was very kind and responsive (different staff than the first visit) however over a 3rd of the bulbs in the total body enhancement bed were burned out and I felt like I was somehow in a tanning bed. I came out feeling burned, red, and splotchy. I don't typically leave negative reviews but I've been to PF locations around the country and this was my only negative experience. read more

I like the gym and the staff but the women's bathrooms are atrocious. Somebody threw up all over the toilet and floor and, they just left it there for more than half the day before it was supposedly going to be cleaned by someone. No out of order sign on the door or anything. For all you know people could have walked in it and then went back out and tracked it onto the gym equipment. Then I came the next day and I kid you not all they had done was wipe the puke off the toilet seat itself. But the entire base and back of the toilet as well as the floor were still covered in puke the next night. It was repulsive. I know the front desk guys probably don't get paid a lot but someone needs to be cleaning the bathrooms to a level that is safe for others to use, regularly. Leaving a hazardous waste in an area that is not closed off to the public for multiple days after it is reported is unacceptable. The fitness balls are also extremely low on air. They've been slowly deflating more and more almost to the point of being useless. I asked if someone could fill them up but it's been about a month since then and they have yet to be filled. It's disappointing that someone can't take enough initiative while sitting around all day at the desk, to get a couple balls filled up. If it weren't for the cleanliness lately in the women's room and the fitness balls, I'd say this location is pretty solid 3 - 4 stars. The staff are nice and the vibe is always good. Honestly, not too bad for what it's worth. My only gripe is the lack of barbell free-weights, but other than that, the gym has pretty much everything you actually need for $10/ month. It's definitely not as fancy or big as some other gyms around, but it's cheap and perfect for people like me that are on a tight budget. Plus, they're open 24 Hrs from Mon - Thurs. I'm a night owl and I hate working out in a crowded gym, so going in during late hours is great for me when there's less people around. The only good thing about this gym is that it's cheap and not a lot of people come here, however the sanitary practices here are extremely questionable. I've been told they have the facility cleaned every night but I high doubt it because skin flakes are caked on the equipment and the washrooms are always crusty. Like other reviews. They charged over $400 in membership fees after we canceled because my significant other was stalked and harassed by their personal trainer. They said we didn't have written proof and it was under temp hold and then automatically renewed after a few month hold. Total BS. @customer service - don't act like your social customer service line has done anything. I've emailed already as well as messaged Instagram. Called customer service, and emailed the regional manager and all i got was this response -We did get your wife's membership cancelled for her today she should have received the document in her email. However, we were closed in April of 2020. We will refund this month's charge as a courtesy, but without proof of cancellation we cannot issue a refund for anything else. Joined up about a month ago, I am guessing they took over new management since all the bad reviews over a year ago, everything is clean! I see everyone cleaning up after equipment and wearing their mask, showers and restrooms at least in the woman's locker room are always very Clean! Honestly been here all times of the day and there is always equipment available , sometimes the dumbbells and weight machines are all being used but waiting 15 mins and doing another exercise and usually they are available again! The tanning beds are just as good as the level 3/4 I use to pay 70 a month at tropical tan to use ! And they have multiple! Haven't tried the massage chairs but I'm sure they won't disappoint. Honestly I love this gym , I only started my fitness journey but always was intimidated when I walked into a gym so I never did it but I feel so at home here!! The staff has been nothing but helpful and pleasant I bought a lock and the next day pulled it out my purse and it somehow was broken like I've never seen and they quickly replaced it 2 days later when they received more and gave me a new one no problem. I was in Seattle for a week starting October 10th and found this gym. Young female worker sold me on a 25¢ startup fee and said as long as I cancelled by the 17th of the month I wouldn't get charged for the full month. I actually like this gym, overall. There's a lot to like. A good crowd that sometimes makes eye contact, friendly staff that actually greet you and wish you farewell, and new equipment that doesn't break down. The water massage, tanning, and Tootsie Rolls are all good for me. The lack of douche-bro's is good too. HOWEVER, I've got some tips. Some may say gripes, and some may say I should check my privilege. You're probably right. So anyway here's Captain Drew's Top 5 Tips for Planet Fitness: 5. The Location Like anywhere else in Seattle, it's open season for drug addicts (or experiencing homelessness if you will) car prowling and asking for handouts. This is just... a bit more concentrated. It's not terrible, but this plaza can look like a zombie apocalypse at certain times. 4. Look When You Turn Because you might hit a prostitute. They stand right in the middle of the street or materialize in the entrance. 3. Cold Pizza I like pizza and am overweight. I'm overweight because I like pizza. In the last year of working out at this gym, there were several times when there are like 20 boxes of mystery pizza laying around. I think they're playing a joke on me because I stand there opening each box one by one like an idiot until I find the one box with a cold quarter piece of pizza in it. I almost feel like that grunk alarm will go off when I open the box or something. 2. Dumb Barbells and Limited Dumbbells My strength training program goes up in 5lb increments. So if I'm at 35 lbs, that's two 17.5lb dumbbells. NOT AVAILABLE YOU DOUCHBAG. While they have plenty of HUGE dumbbells, there's no XX.5 dumbbells anywhere. I get why there's no non-smith-machine-normal barbells (suck it douchebags haha!) but they have one rack of non-sensical barbells tucked in a mirrored corner. I wonder how many times those mirrors have been broken. 1. THE HOURS I made a handy image that should help you memorize their hours. I can't tell you how many times I've driven up and the lights are turning off. Or I'm FINALLY getting my third day in and they (not kidding) bring a leaf blower by and set of the GRUNK alarm 3-5 minutes before they close. I actually paid $25 to "drop in" at 24 hour fitness in Northgate because they closed when I arrived. The weirdest part is that when I'm running out the door with the leaf blower and GRUNK alarm blaring, I see a lot of fresh faced, dry clothed, optimistic people arriving. I just can't tell them it's closing because I want the staff to SEE them walking through the door. I can't help but wonder: How many of those midnight gym goers would you inconvenience by staying open from 7am-Midnight, 7 days a week ompared to keeping these weird hours. When moved to east coast I called in to cancel my membership and they gave me such a hard time. They want me to either physically go in or write a letter, no email or fax! The area is not the best so I would not recommend going here any later than 11pm. However the inside is great, very clean, machines are kept in good repair, and the staff are always friendly. **Usually don't make reviews on gyms but I had to for this location** Not sure why their rating is so low but I love this location! The gym itself is a lot bigger than my home gym and there's a lot more equipment to work out with. I love that there's a Black Card Spa, where all the great amenities exclusive to black card members are located. It makes me feel like I'm at an actual spa and not the gym, which is a nice treat. The staff here are super friendly and nice, and actually take the time to greet you as you're walking in the door. Brenda, is one of the girls I had a little conversation with, and she was super helpful at helping out with one of the black card equipment. I've only been here a couple times but I'm definitely going to return more often, and wish I knew about this location earlier. read more

BEWARE! Unapproved charges, sketchy practices, rude manager and no accountability! Northgate Seattle Planet Fitness has been charging me for 7 months without my approval. I just noticed the charges and called the manager on duty today for help. He was super rude and refused to give me any refund or allow me to cancel my membership. He used foul language and represented your company very poorly. I was pretty shocked that he behaved that way. I hope I can get some real customer support as this is pretty messed up especially during a global pandemic when people are already suffering financially. I live in Bellevue. My mom is being my caretaker. She loves to workout. She is a black card member for planet fitness. I have been here 19 years. I have never heard such disrespect from any of the surrounding bussiness. Every day she goes to workout she is harrassed. First it was her membership, next it was her shoes, then it was because she did not have a app. On her phone for Planet Fitness. The manager told her she is living in the X generation. She does not like to carry her phone and should not have to. Also I was a Crunch member. I still am a YMCA member. My son is a LA Fitness member. All of these places NEVER gave such disrespect and discrimination to us. Planet Fitness promised mom a shirt, she went in to workout and had to sign in as a day pass as a guest. She is a Black card holder. These people are a joke. We can take her to other places. However she pays good money to be a member. Planet Fitness get out of our Bellevue area. Or get good people. It's been dirty lately. I had a flea jump on my leg while in the stretching area... Ladies bathroom's been nasty for over 3 months now. There are actual nasty rings in the toilet (gag) and it smells like piss... Recently they added a toxic basic air freshener to the wall in the VIP room (gasp)! This is 2022, people are smell/chemical sensitive!!! Wasn't able to get a much needed waterbed massage 3 times in a row... and I don't come too often! Damn! At least invest into a oil diffuser of you are trying to mask smells due to all the uncleanliness situation going on... I'm just turned off at this point. I really like Planet Fitness so far. I know they are doing renovations and all, but for $10 or $20 a month, they have everything I need. The staff is friendly, and they have a gem in Anifa! They also have free classes for beginners which they call personal training sessions. Did I mention they are free even with the $10 membership level? So I don't understand why everyone is so down on this place. If you don't like PF, then go across the street and the competition will be more than happy to take your $40+/month. My one beef is that they removed the scale just before I started a juice fast, and the reason was because it's a "judgment-free zone". Not sure how that applies to a scale, but you're the only gym I know of that doesn't provide one. In any case, I remedied this by purchasing my own. Problem solved! On two separate occasions, I spoke with someone at the front desk regarding a billing complaint (multiple fees that added up more than the monthly fee). I was promised that a manager would call me back and they did not call me back. Upon a third call, I was finally able to get a manager, but who unfortunately, would not budge on clearing up the fees (for a membership that my 19 year old daughter signed up for, did not use and did not realize she was being charged for). read more

So everyone is in a huff that this is no longer Evolution Fitness.. yes, it's no longer evolution fitness. Yes, the free weights don't go past 75. The negative stops there though. As far as this goes for a Planet Fitness it's the best one in the Seattle area that I've been to, and I've been to almost all from Marysville to Renton. It's clean, staff are polite, and it has more equipment than other location. The hours are good and it's cheap. The dumbbells go up to 75 and the plates are standard 45. I suppose if you are wearing a spaghettie strap tank top you might get called out about it if your boobs are hanging out of it but as for a standard racer back tank no one has said anything. A few girls are in short runner shorts and no one has called them out. It's pretty lax as far as gyms go an is in a good location. read more

Worst experience ever. They have been closed for 16 days now with absolutely no word back (I've left voice messages). They aren't giving any idea when they will reopen for a plumbing issue. No estimate. Nothing. They tell you to contact management but give no way to do so. They also say to just go to another gym. Now my $10 membership costs $70 a month with bus fare and they think this is the acceptable solution. Do not go here. They simply DO NOT care at all about their customers. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even plan on reopening at this point and are just trying to milk as much out of memberships and they can before they go out of business. Edit: management can't call me back after 18 days? This is ridiculous. No contact. No update. Nothing. 18 days and they still have a sign dated May 28 saying they hope to open by 4pm that day. Most recently they were closed several months due to quarantine, which is understandable, but we also never received communication on billing, re-opening, options for our memberships. Nothing. Then I realized they had started billing us again, and even billed us on off-dates than we authorized and for MORE money than we had authorized. I reached out to the manager Tom, who amidst a pandemic questioned me as to why I hadn't called them sooner. The absolute audacity to question your customer of 2 years, who has never missed a payment, why their gym wasn't their top priority during a pandemic. A pandemic in which my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and also had Covid. Sorry, I was a bit preoccupied. Unbelievable. I am horrified by this Planet Fitness locations practices, I have requested the owner to reach out with no response. This is also not to mention they were previously under renovations for months and still charged full membership fees. They didn't even have a men's restroom, you would have to use a port-a-potty in the parking lot. Very questionable business practices. A complete disgrace, the gym's bathrooms are disgusting as well, and rarely cleaned. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

Came into this location for the first time and met John and Rose at the front desk - John was so rude he made my wife cry with his belligerent mean and aggressive harassment upon arrival Rose was lazy and did everything she could not to promote any acceptable level of customer service or decency.
