Dawn and Sherrie are 2 of the nicest caring people in the World. Now we have continued to go almost daily, almost religiously. Power pump, body sculp, Zumba, yoga, and many other classes we both enjoy. A multitude of different instructors! All very skilled. High energy! Friendly fellowship amongst us all trying to age gracefully! Give it a try. I used to play basketball, volleyball, etc. now post spinal fusion this place is my pl to feel very similar after completing a class. Also because we're national members we've enjoyed classes in Northampton, Southbridge, Rochester NY, and Cave Creek, AZ. A wonderful place. Thanks to the amazing staff at Scantic valley ymca! I have never felt more in tune with my body and confident with myself. From a classic to an Empower or Reform class, I am challenged every single day and I appreciate that each studio changes their routine frequently. This location is extra cute because you can early tell there is a sense of community. The instructor announced that there would be a book club held next week and there were even Polaroid photos of members that finished recent challenges. I started doing barre last year, and this was my first experience with it. I have a pre-existing knee injury that severely limits my ability to do any interesting workouts. I found barre and I was sold. It exhausted me, it was rewarding, and I seriously got so much stronger so quickly! It is an amazing experience. The teachers are motivating, the classes are inclusive of all body types and abilities, and everyone is kind. The goal is to get stronger - not hotter, skinnier, etc., which I really, really appreciate. The customer service is also fantastic! I have had some issues with my knee and as such have had to stop going recently. The customer service team worked with me to pause my account indefinitely so that by the time I come back, I won't be paying any additional fees or increased payments. They respond promptly to concerns, and are always apologetic if something goes wrong. I've never been worried about feeling heard with them. The location itself is very convenient, and has great hours. They have classes ranging from 6am to the evening, which I really appreciate! It's such a cute place, and is always sparkling clean. My wife saw an ad in a local newspaper back in August  of 2016 for Mt View Strength.  She mentioned…read moreto me that this sounded like something that we should try.  I dragged my feet for some time wondering if this is something I would be able to commit to.  Both of us are in our 50s....myself a smoker (Exercise..What) so we thought it was time to do something more than what were doing to be healthy. We met with Sean at Mt View for an initial assessment and we signed on.  We decided to do it...a minimum of a 3 month commitment. He wanted to know what we wanted to achieve individually.  My wife was looking to lose weight, myself tone up.  At the time I had some very painful shoulder pain and he was quite concerned about that. We began our training and Sean specifically designed a program to help strengthen my shoulder to help ease my pain and balanced the exercises to include the goals my wife was looking for.  My three boys thought up front that "Dad" would perhaps last a couple of sessions.  Well I must say we are moving onto our 3rd three month session this month.  I proved my children wrong!!! Sean was able promote the proper exercises to strengthen my body where I no longer have shoulder pain at all.  With Sean's direction, my wife was able to introduce the proper diet and she has lost over 10 lbs.  My own desire to tone up has worked completely and I am so happy with these results.  The inches are falling off of our body!! Is it easy?  NO   Is it worth it?  YES Sean will personally put together a program that will fit what you want, but you need to be on board with it.  The results are there. He is a true professional.
