Love this place I go there regularly 4 to 5 times a week. They have most of the stuff you need to do you work out. The place is keep clean most of the time. Logan a kid who works there always checking locker rooms and bathrooms be sure everything is clean. There unscruppulous, Slimy, predatory billing methods and UNCANCELABLE and AUTO RENEWING "MEMBERSHIP CONTRACTS" are just about the most unbelievable thing I have ever come across in a business setting . They basically trick people into signing these vile dishonest contract with some amount of sign on bonus ie promotion. I admit that I did not read their stupid contract well enough before giving them my checking accounts account number and also routing number. That should tell you how deep they want to ok sink their claws..... If they just billed a credit or debit card (like any normal self respecting business) it would be easier for all the stolen from and lied to dissatisfied previous victims to get reimbursed for their (basically) fraud; or just cancel their card or payments via Visa/Mastercard. This is easily the best gym I've been a member of. I go in 4-5 times a week. I try to go when it's not too busy. They have a great selection of machines, kettle bells, exercise/stability balls, weights, ect. I have developed my own routine and I try to add new things to it periodically. They have wi-fi, so if you're like me and double checking an app or instructions on a specific exercise, or just want to listen to music on your phone, it's great. It's always clean. They do a great job keeping it clean and fresh. Locker rooms are nice. Everything in the bathroom is well stocked. Their claim to fame is no intimidation. So no typical gym rats and you're the one fat person everyone's looking down at. There's always someone heavier than you there working to better themselves, and I love that. Their membership is cheap too. You can't go wrong with it. It's $10 a month for a basic membership and $20 for an upgraded one. The basic one you can cancel anytime and the upgraded one is like $56 to cancel. With the upgraded one you get free tanning, a water massage machine and I forget what the third thing is. Plus you can always bring a guest anytime you go. Which is great because I love being able to bring my husband or a friend with me. There's other perks too, like half off whatever drinks they sell there, and discounts at partnering retailers too. They've got trainers and classes, which you can utilize by making appointments or signing up for. These things are free with a membership from what I understand, but I've never taken advantage of them because I don't typically go to the gym during the times they're available. But you can look online, on their phone app, or ask an employee for schedules on classes and trainer times so you can use these perks. It's a bit of a drive, being fairly deep into Springfield, but it's nothing ridiculous. My husband and I always try to make the most of a trip, by going out to eat nearby, or going grocery shopping while we are out, ect. It actually works nicely when we can add a gym trip into our usual errands. So we just joined Planet Fitness and typically go to the Eugene location. However, we live by this one so we went here for our afternoon workout instead of driving across town. It's a much smaller location but pretty clean and the staff is pretty friendly. The biggest reason for my lower score is that they DO NOT have any female staff working the weekends. This means that a man is cleaning the female locker room and women have to either be comfortable showering with a man in the room or just not shower after their workout. My fiance's favorite part of her workout is the shower after and it was frustrating for her to have to stay in her sweaty clothes until we got home for a shower. She was very put off by this and I'm not sure if we'll be back at this location anytime soon. read more

These people are literally criminals. Seems like others have had the same experience. They figured out how to charge an EXPIRED credit card for 3 years. The best part is i never even stepped foot inside. Management is rude and unhelpful. Legal fees will cost more than i will recover but they were so awful i DO NOT CARE. Never again. A checking account was not given when i signed up and i was never even told my membership had transferred to new location yet my EXPIRED CARD was FRAUDULENTLY charged for 3 YEARS. After spending the past 23 years in all the gyms eug/spfd has to offer.... from golds gym/better bodies/international fitness/courtsports and a handful of smaller gyms.... I've landed here at planet fitness. I'll first say my stay here is going to be short. I intend to re-sign with international fitness at the end of the month. I'm not leaving the gym for any reason except that they're really not a "lifters gym". Which I'd have known if I'd have dug a little deeper before enrolling. The $10 per month blinded me and I was sucked straight in. But when it's time to do a leg workout, they've only got machines and a smith rack. I max out all their leg machines and have to do high rep sets to get my workout in. And squatting on a smith rack is silly. Free weights or naw!!! That being said... I'm more than capable of getting a great workout in at planet fitness. There establishment is quite clean. I must say I've never seen so many people spraying and wiping down equipment before. That's a first! But then I've never worked out in such a boutique kind of fitness club. That's it... it's not so much a gym, but a fitness club. Which may work great for a number of folks out there. So the price is clearly great. The staff are (I go in late) just about non-existent. And the facilities are 24hr & clean. My only complaints so far are that they probably shouldn't have 4 cleaning guys running around with extension cords and scissor lifts during business hours. I personally witnessed cords dropping from overhead that could've smacked a passer by in the head and saw dust bunnies floating all around in areas where people are trying to breath and sweat. Maybe carve out a "cleaning day" or something where these guys can come in and not have to work around the customers?? Just a thought. If what you seek is a place to push some heavy weight (particularly on a leg press) and desire some good old fashioned barbell deadlifts, cleans, jerks, bench press.... don't bother with PF. You'll be limited to nothing but cables and cardio here. Which again... can definitely get a good sweat going. But it's just lacking the feel of a diamond gripped Olympic bar. This club is to a gym what a shake weight is to a squat rack. For the casual fitness enthusiast (as advertised). Just trying to offer the info I didn't catch before considering this place. It's a pretty clean place, everyone keeps to themselves. I have not seen anyone getting use of a trainer while I have been here, but I am sure they do... Some of the staff could smile and be a little friendlier, and the rest of them are very kind! I like the prices they have here, the massage chairs, and the tanning. I see results when eating correctly, and then going to the gym. I love water all over again! Thank goodness I remember all of the things my old trainer has taught me, it's like riding a bike. It's all in the memory bank of life! I also have a membership at international, which I like as well because they have classes, pools, and etc. I just go here because it's easier to go with my Son's girlfriend. read more

Staff keeps saying they have reported it. Last staff member told us some time in the future there will be equipment updates, maybe that is why they ignore fixing it. I visited this location between 7pm and 9pm on a Saturday night and there weren't many other ppl there. The guy at the front desk was warm and welcoming and the facility was clean. I used the total body enhancement after my workout and shower (which makes your skin and hair look really nice btw). I forgot goggles but the guy found some in the lost and found for me to clean up and borrow. I can appreciate that he enforced the rules of bringing goggles into the room with you, as it helps the brand achieve consistency. I've been to other locations where they don't ask if you have goggles even though it is a rule. Kudos y'all. read more

Overall the gym is not horrible, wearing a mask while running sucks. Biggest complaint is not having consistency between employees. I called when I signed up and was told they open at 5am. Get here my first day at 5 and it opens up around 5:15. No biggie. But today when I showed up at 5:30 no one showed up at all until 6:30. read more

I've been a member for a bit now, and I have my ups and downs. I love the location, the cleanliness and the fact that it's a great environment to work out with out feeling awkward and unwelcome. However, at least for me, I'm having the hardest time committing to going. I love classes! I want to learn new stuff and try new stuff and be in a group setting having fun, but... I work, I can't find classes M-F that fit around my work schedule. Seems all the classes are during "banker hours" Only other complaint I have is THAT GUY, you know which one he is too, the one who camps on the equipment, talking on his cell phone even though the signs say "No cell phone use here" he's loud, annoying and well...Come on staff, get him off the darn bench so I can use the machine!! read more

I love Planet Fitness! I live in Eugene, but drive out every day to work out here! I've been a member of 24 Hour Fitness for years, but since they don't have one in this area, I had to research into other options. When researching prices, other gyms all averaged anywhere from $25 upwards. I just need simplicity - machines, weights, and miscellaneous equipment like yoga balls. So naturally Planet Fitness is a good fit. Their membership price is more than reasonable for what I'm looking for in a gym. $10 for the basic and $20 for the standard? Sweet! What I love about the black card membership is it comes with a trainer (who has a specific schedule), tanning beds, hydro massage beds, massage chairs, AND you can bring 1 guest with you every visit. I ALWAYS get a hydro bed massage after every workout - it feels like a way of rewarding myself for getting through the exercises. I love the atmosphere. I think the "judgment free zone" is an awesome concept. It feels like everyone who is there just wants to be healthy and active, whereas I've felt like a piece of meat getting gawked at by men at the other gyms I've been to. It's always bonus to avoid the obnoxious meatheads too, whom they call "clunks" at Planet Fitness. Haha. The staff at the front desk has always been super nice. The only iffy staff member was a manager named Lindsay that signed me up for the membership. She seemed tired and irritable the day I interacted with her. But since then, no problems with customer service. The only thing I wish they had was a dance room with mirrors. A basketball court would be nice too. But that doesn't deter me. Went in to solve a problem I had about freezing my account. I am currently on victory block leave from basic training in the army. Before going to basic I froze my account and was demanded to give proof of leave, then told my proof of leave would only let me pause for 3 months even though I'd be gone for 5. I went in today while back and Cody was working. He was super helpful and kind about the whole process. He's letting me workout free while here so I don't get any Unnecessary charges. read more

I just joined this gym last month and so far I am enjoying it. They are close to my spouses work and we carpool together so the location is convenient. They just opened up, so the facilities are clean and all of the equipment is in good working condition. They have tons of machines and a good variety of them. They also have a 30 minute circuit set up and resistance machines and free weights. Also, they are open 24 hours. Basic membership is $10.00 per month with an annual fee of somewhere in the neighborhood of $50.00 each year so it is definitely affordable. The upgraded membership is $20.00 per month and gives you unlimited free tanning and unlimited use of their massage machines if you're into those sorts of things. My only complaint is they don't enforce the dress code and a large portion of customers don't wipe down equipment after they use it. read more

Usually PFs are meticulously clean. This one is disgusting! I can see dust bunnies, wads of hair, paper towel bits, etc. on the floor all the time. I've never seen them vacuum at this location. I was very disappointed with how the staff barely ever does any clean at all; occasionally they will dust to push dust onto the floor and leave it there. I am allergic to dust, like many other people, so that's just not acceptable and not clean at all. The equipment also sucks. They are missing certain cable attachments and machines, and much of their equipment is far too light. If you are at all an experienced weight lifter, this gym is terrible. No free barbell racks, no assisted squat machines, terrible leg presses... I I'll be voicing my membership as soon as possible. read more

Randomly charged me a late fee, even though I was on automatic billing with a credit card that gets paid off every month. I was told my account was inactive one day when I went in. I travel and hadn't yet switched home gyms (and now couldn't switch until I put my account in good standing), so in order to pay this late fee I was told I had to physically come in to the Springfield gym, as they couldn't possibly take payment over phone or internet. I was already in Utah at this point, so basically I was forced to cancel my account and just start a new one. BUT WAIT! You cant cancel remotely! So, I just made a new account. Stupidly, I assumed they had stopped billing me for the the first account because I wasnt allowed in the gym, but I just checked and theyve been billing me the whole time. So, now Ive just had to cancel the credit card because there's literally no other way for me to stop them from taking my money. Really, really pathetic for a large company in 2019. If you use the gym locally I'm sure its fine though, the regular staff were always good. read more

I have been with Planet Fitness for over a year now and I have been satisfied for the most part! Here is the thing: PF is a great gym for cardio, but now so great for weightlifting/strength building activities. Pros: -great atmosphere (mostly "average" people...not filled with elite athletes, bodybuilders, etc) -very clean and new equipment -most affordable in Eugene/Springfield -staff is very friendly -wide variety of cardio machines and plenty of treadmills! -open 24hrs Cons: -weight equipment is very limited and the weight area gets super crowded during peak times. -SQUAT RACKS....PF only has smith machines, which are horrible on the back and affect your form. -stretching and floor room is also limited -the gym is small and in one giant room. Nothing is sectioned off. -location...I am in Eugene so I have to drive 15-25 to get there. I would love to see one built IN Eugene. In short, if you are wanting a gym to run, bike, etc. and to do a moderate amount of strength training, PF is perfect. If you are wanting a gym to do heavy weight training and body building and/or to have access to features like TRX, rock climbing, swimming, classes, then it won't be the gym for you. read more

The employee never actually close them and my wife's account went into collections with Planet Fitness and my card was being charged every month for over 2yrs. I resolved my wifes account issues and now my calls are being dodged about getting funds returned to me for my account, despite having documentation of account closing. BAD BUSINESS! The owner/ owners on the other hand. should educate the employees on how to explain the contracts to their customers. Yes there is a contract. On top of your members fees there is an annual fee that is not explained to you before signing. Then each year they do not send any type of notice to allow low income people to cover these fees.They can take it when they choose with no notice and they do not care that you get fees from your bank they just constantly reiterate you have an contract. i wanted to sign up because of their $10 a month deal. they refused to take cash or my debit card for payment. they wanted my bank account number and routing number (private information) only. my debit card is enough for other creditors to set me up for automatic payments because it uses the money from the exact account number they wanted access to, but not good enough for them. funny thing is my friend signed up two weeks before and they didn't ask for a bank account number, they just used her debit card. what a joke. shady af. i went elsewhere - to a place that took my debit card and acted like i was important to them. read more
