This place is more of a day care center than a gym. It's kool that kids can come in for free instead of being on the streets getting in to trouble, but planet fitness should limit the amount of kids allowed inside for free. I don't know, it's really a bummer to not have machines work. The abductor machine doesn't work and finally an employee let me know it hadn't in years. He also let me know they have no intention of replacing it. False advertising much? Maybe you should send a statement that your machines don't and will not work. And offer refunds. read more

This is one of the best PF locations in the area. This PF seems to always be clean and always have good attentive staff up front. It's not too crowded compared to other PF in the area. Another plus, is that they have acquired the new equipment. read more

Until recently I would have given this location five stars. Something has changed in the last two months or so, though. The staff is really lacking. No greetings, no goodbyes anymore. They stand around with sour faces just talking to each other and waiting out the clock. Went to the counter to ask to use hydro massage, and dude acted like I was taking him away from his living room on his day off. There's one girl with reddish hair that's nice and acts like she's at work and values customers, but that's it. There's a new chunky guy (that's not me judging, that's just a way of identifying him.) I'm chunky myself so I have no room to judge) I don't know if he's a manager or the new owner, but he walks around in khakis with a black hat and doesn't wear the staff purple shirt. He's ruder than anyone and I believe he's the one training/hiring people so that tells you a lot. You can't give away what you don't have. ‍ Still going to come here because Planet Fitness is the best priced, best equipped chain of gyms around, but I'll just be here for the machines now. :-( read more

Cancel my membership because his gym is super inconvenient. Just generally all locations. There's no sauna. Restaurants are super slippery. I almost felt like three times in a matter of a week so I called back to cancel my membership not even a month has passed since I've got it, I spoke to Ruben. He was super helpful. He was trying to help me to cancel it on my end, which was really inconvenient. There's a reason why I was calling is because I needed help, but he wasn't even able to help me. I don't recommend this gym genuinely because of safety And Ruben's help is super uncomfortable and inconvenient and unprofessional. I have had a Planet Fitness account now for some time, to supplement on the days I can't get into my studio (pilates, barre, yoga) classes. Strategically the decision was because there was a location near my parent's place and a location by my place, and their pricing is reasonable for my needs. Recently my dad's semi annual blood work came back less ideal than we would want and he doctor recommended a diet change and some exercise. To support his health goals we went shopping for some fitness clothes and shoes, and I signed him up for a Planet Fitness account with me. The PF Black Card of course!! The Black Card allows you to bring in a guest with each visit, so either of us can take my mom in with us on days she wants to join. I would get her own membership but she wouldn't go without us. The Black Card also includes other perks like tanning, massage chair, hydro massage, and occasional discounts with their partners. Coming from the corporate fitness industry during my early career, I am pretty aware of the personalities and politics with gyms. The service I got from Anthony was above and beyond standard. When I called in to inquire about adding another gym membership for my dad, Anthony told me I can sign up online. No pressure on purchasing it through a specific sales rep or anything. He was super nice! The next day when I took my dad into the gym. I asked if staff could show my dad around the locker rooms. Chance would have it that we run into Anthony again. He gave my dad a quick tour around the facilities. After we worked out, we came back to get access to the massage chairs and hydromassage. Staff was really nice about it! Thank you Anthony for great service!! My dad had a very good first impression of Planet Fitness and this is a successful step towards his health goals. read more

Recently came back and found out they decided to go without keeping the circuit room to be used for just that. Anyone can now use the equipment for as long as they want. So why keep the green/red lights up? I called San Dimas and they still have their circuit area going and their ratings are better so I'll be doing my workouts at that location. read more

This place has gone under a complete reconstruction in management and staff in the last few years I've been attending here. If the owner is the same, they recognized the importance of customer service in such establishments. One of the key factors I look for in a gym besides available equipment is a well stocked and clean locker room. In the past it has been lagging in hygiene. Often times leaving the women's room left unattended and never stocked. The showers rarely looked like they were clean. But I would compliment staffing on keeping up with maintenance and improving on overall appearance of the business here. Thank you for your effort! read more

I haven't been to Planet Fitness in over a year due to COVID-19 related reasons, and I thought to myself that it was about time to cancel my membership. Gyms are notorious for making their cancellation process difficult, and I had already called to inquire about canceling my membership over the phone to save myself a trip. It was explained to me that I had to cancel in person (I was already anticipating this; like I said, gyms make it difficult, and I get why), but as long as my membership had been active for over three months, I would be able to to cancel it at any location instead of having to go all the way to my "home club" (which is over fifty miles away, as I had since moved). So I went to the nearest location to cancel in person. I told the female worker at the counter that I had come to cancel my membership, but that this was not my home club, to which she immediately responded that I would have to go to my home club instead. When I told her that I had already been informed over the phone that I would be able to cancel at the present location, as my membership was aged well over three months, she changed her approach and told me that I would need to pull up the Planet Fitness website on my phone and transfer my membership from my previous home club to the present home club's location. She then turned her back and proceeded to chit chat with another employee. I would like to thank Moises, another employee at this location, for going above and beyond with his customer service towards me. He saw me struggling to follow the previous employee's instructions and immediately jumped in to help. He even went as far as to call my home club for my information, and informed me that he would contact me later in the day to confirm that my membership had indeed been canceled. He did as he promised, and I would just like to take this opportunity to thank him again for his kindness, and for making what can be a difficult process easy for me. read more

Friendly (not because they have to be) the whole gym is very clean, employees are going around on a hourly basis cleaning on the machines and bathrooms. It is very large and super well laid out, 50 running tread mills, 6 bikes so many machines for upper and lower strength, 30 mins circuit room, locker, showers, a sun booth, a electrolytes machine for muscles and arthritis also a wave longue bed that your muscles are warmed and rolled from head to toes for 10 minutes. A whole lot of areas that I will never work out in or use but many young and men and women do. I have not worked out in years but getting back into exercising has made a big difference in my well being mentally and physically fit. My doctor has notice a change and that is good news for a women of my age!!! My young sister was visiting from up north and she enjoyed the gym she going to look for one in her area. Making this comment as a van lifer so you know what I'm about to make commentary on... The showers are clean. *praying hands emoji* Since embarking on this journey of being a van life nomad showering has been the main point of distress as many gyms especially Planet Fitnesses do not upkeep the bathrooms especially the showers. Many locations (coughRiversidecoughSanBernadinocough) are absolutely disgusting to where I'd rather go use a bucket and shower in their fkn parking lot lmao. But baybay, not Upland. This locations showers are SO clean I would be willing to drive the extra minutes to come to this one when I'm far away from it because I know I won't be disgusted. The staff is pretty nice as well. I had some issues with my bar code and they were very helpful and patient and didn't get an attitude or anything like that. This location started off strong but over these past few months it's starting to look like a dump! The machines are so dirty, and they are starting to let anyone In. People continuously coming in working out in their slippers and pajamas. The Staff is getting worse and worse as the years go on. You guys really need to start enforcing a gym dress code because this is getting out of hand. It's not motivating to work out near a bunch of people who look like they rolled out of bed. read more

After years of going here,we switched to 24 hr fitness. Paying for 2 Black Card memberships we got tired of people sleeping on the hydro massage beds ,massage chairs. After being referred to email the general customer service for Planet Fitness, I was referred to email the management of the same location I am having an issue with. This just proves to be going no where, and even corporate will not help because the location is independently owned - so why would a corporate customer service respond to these complaints here for the privately owned gym that they cannot support when things like this occur? That makes no sense, and makes it obviously clear that customer service isn't their focus - PR is. At this point I've realized (after reading other reviews here), you're basically taking a gamble when you decide to cancel with Planet Fitness. They don't want you to go, so they'll illegally continue to charge your account and refuse to refund you while blaming you for their mistakes when they are found out. I would not have been as upset if I had not been promised the refund. If the GM had simply said it wasn't possible, of course, I would've been upset - but, it would've ended there. Instead, I was lied to by someone that's supposed to know the rules of the business and given a complete runaround by the company - all over a couple measly hundred dollars. I had a black card membership with your Planet Fitness 1028 n. mountain in upland for about 2years and i went to work out and was told that Planet Fitness no longer will except Silver Sneaker which is part of Medicare for Seniors so that means that Planet Fitness will not except Seniors to work out...shame on you!!!! I'm not a fan of gyms, but this one is nice. It's not too loud inside, the app is great, gives you at home or in gym exercises, and an indicator of how crowded the gym may be!! They also have tanning beds and massage chair and the entire place is always clean read more

Absolutely love this gym!!!! It was my first time there and I felt extremely comfortable! The gym is clean and well lit. The massage chairs and hydro massage is amazing and a great way to finish your workout. Now the real reason I'm yelping about this gym is Scipio (I hope I'm spelling his name right). He is so nice and made me feel so welcome and. I asked him about how some machines worked, (after his help I realized there were pictures on the machines) and he was happy to help anyways he also answered any questions I had about the gym. Even tho I only met him tonight he is one of those few people who make you feel like you've known him for a while. Awesome customer service!!! read more

As far as gyms in this branch go, this is by far the best I've ever been to. 1. It's CLEAN I'd eat off the treadmill belts any day - they're probably cleaner than McDs tables. 2. Service with a Smile These people were probably imported straight from the Chick-fil-A school of friendly because they're attentive, helpful, and you guessed it- their service is always with a smile! 3. Location location location Guys it's right next to the grocery store, CHIPOTLE, and parking is super accessible 4. Biggggg-uh You never have to worry about dudes taking your machine because this gym has rows upon rows of machines for both cardio and weight training. I have changed this rating to a single star due to my membership being canceled without my knowledge. I feel that it is very unprofessional to address a situation as such cowardly while I am no longer on the grounds. I called the gym to discuss my cancellation and I was placed on a hold because George had another member in front of him supposedly. I look forward to management not reaching out to me as promised. I have been coming to this planet fitness for about two years now. This is the first time I have seen accosted by two employees within a ten minute span due to my mask. After my first warning, I saw that the employees were watching me throughout the duration of my workout. During my workout, somethings my mask falls below my nose. I typically place it back over my nose when it falls. Two employees interrupted my workout to tell me to fix my mask and I find this very annoying due to other patrons had their make in similar areas. read more

I love coming to this gym. Been on a fitness journey since the beginning of this year and this gym has all the equipment I need to achieve my goals. The staff here is always friendly and welcoming each day I come. A special thanks to the manager Reuben. He was so courteous with me and patient when I had a problem with my account. Horrible experience with this location. I pay for my son to have the Black membership where he can take a friend with when he comes, have had this membership for over a year. I went with him one time before and it worked fine and today we were refused entry because we didn't have a drivers license with a photo ID to enter. Who wants to carry all their stuff with them to go to the gym? They should get with the times and have a picture for the member one time and be good and not harass potential future members who are going with the paid member. This is absolute garbage, why would a guest need photo ID to workout with a paying member. This place doesn't care about their members supposed benefits, its ill maintained, bad hours, and a front desk staff that behaves like members are an inconvenience. Do yourself a favor and go to a better gym that doesn't require you to present a passport, drivers license, DNA sample to just workout in the facility that you pay to go to. This is ridiculous, we will be looking for a new gym for my son going forward. Edit: The business responded that the photo ID is for security of members, but what I think it is for is to keep under privileged people out of the gym, those who cannot afford a driver's license. Obvious classism and there is nothing on their website that states this policy, only for people paying for a day pass. So if you want support a business that discriminates against, then you have found one here. I didn't need a photo ID before, but I guess I didn't "look right". Not a good place for high school kids, whose friends might not have identification. There are multiple gyms around that offer the same benefit and will just happily take your picture to join with pass (like Disneyland). Planet Fitness hides behind the guise of security, but make no mistake this is elitism at its finest. Discrimination isn't cool and has no place in our society. read more

I LOVE this gym. LOVE. IT. In fact, I don't want to leave this review because I would love to have it all for myself, but... I'll share my opinion because the holiday season is quickly approaching and I'm feeling generous. :) AND, I've been to a ton of gyms - 24 hour fitness, YMCA, Anytime Fitness, Fitness 19, etc. -- Planetfitness is my JAM - my all time favorite by FAR. First off - the staff is the best. SO sweet and helpful. Every time I go they greet me and say bye and will occasionally chat around the gym. I read a few reviews about customer service being bad, which I was shocked by. I always see Damien, Patrick, Emilia, Allison, Jenny and Angel (shout out to Angel - so sweet!) and they are all incredible and super attentive to customers. Signing up was a breeze - in and out within 20 minutes. The black card membership- I absolutely LOVE IT- it's worth every penny (and more). This gym is super clean, never crowded, and they really take their no judgement rule seriously. I like coming here because you see all sorts of people working out and everyone is really focused on their exercising (no one is staring at you, hogging the machines to take selfies, or lifting 800 pounds and grunting). They also have exercise classes and pizza / bagel days, which is a nice touch. I use the black card membership perks every time I go, which is about 5-6 times a week. My advice - at LEAST try it out. I have literally been calling planet fitness for 3 months trying to get a hold of the store manager for them over charging me for 6 months but the manager who is never available, or is sick, or isn't taking calls, I have literally never called any business and haven't been able to get a hold of anyone that can help me. I've called at serval different hours of the day and different days in the week have left messages with multiple different staff members and even called ABC financial to solve my issue that needs to be to be solved with the general manager who is literally never available. First time ever getting a gym membership and this is the place to go! Has great deals and isn't always packed. The staff is super friendly and they still follow CDC protocol by sanitizing everything and recommending others to wear a mask and clean the machines/equipment they've been on. Very straight forward and every machine has a barcode in case you wanted to know further information on how to use. Has amazing quotes in every section that make you want to keep going.
