I went in to try out the facilities using a 3-day pass, but they refused to honor it and told me I had to pay for a day pass if I wanted to work out. Obviously, I refused to pay and decided to leave instead. The employee who assisted me wasn't terribly rude, but they were very indifferent and had zero customer service skills. Also, after reading other reviews about people having issues with unfair cancellation fees, I'm honestly glad things turned out this way because it saved me from making the mistake of signing up here. My son was a member since 2023 & recently moved out of the area to go to college. He went in person and canceled his membership over a month ago and today they charged my account the annual fee of $49.99. WTF...I called fitness19 and the girl that answered tried to tell me the annual fee charge was for last year which is BS. They're charging for the next 12 months annual fee, which my son no longer lives in the area. Stay away from this shady ass corrupt gym. For everyone that has been scammed by this place maybe we should start an class action suit! Interesting reviews...I've never had any of these issues. I've been a member at several different gyms over the past twenty years. You are going to spend more money and have more issues at another gym. Trust. The pregnant manager goes around and sanitizes and vacuums--that's not going to happen at other gyms. Staff is super nice and friendly. The gym does run its A/C. Thank you for not being cheap because I don't know who wants to workout in a hot and stinky gym. Members keep to themselves--reasons why I have left other gyms. I'm giving it a 5 (but really a 4.5). I wish they had more/better equipment. They really need machines similar to Gold's Gym. Gold's has more leg machines but their stuff is always broken lol. Fit 19 has some repetitive and hardly-used equipment. I love that you can go into the studio and access all the kettlebells/weights/bars/mats This is usually restricted in other gyms. They often do not let you use weights in the studios at other places. The turf area is nice as well and is always kept clean and organized. People don't leave weights all around the gym--like at other gyms. The equipment is rarely broken like at other gyms with higher price points. You'll be lucky if LA Fitness' cardio machines are working. The spin bike room is so nice compared to other gyms as well. There's a lot more bikes compared to other spin rooms. All in all, you get what you pay for and in my opinion, I'm getting more than what I pay for--$10 a month. It's not a high-fees micro-managed establishment like most lower priced gyms. read more

Customer service has been horrible, and I was sent to collections for what appears to be a gym payment processing error, without any prior call, email, or written notice from the gym before they affected my credit score. I've been a loyal member for 4 years since the gym reopened after the pandemic. I always paid on time, never caused issues, and regularly purchased supplements. I moved out of the area in May and attempted to cancel my membership. The front desk told me they couldn't process cancellations because their internet was down, and refused to take a written request. I returned in June and completed my cancellation with Adam, who confirmed I had no outstanding balance and only needed to wait for July's final charge. I asked if I could pay at the moment but apparently the payment needs to be automated. On 12/1/25, I received a call from a collections agency claiming I owed around $100 in "gym fees," but the agent couldn't explain what the charge was for. I immediately drove back to the gym, where Gaby told me my July payment (the $15 final charge) "didn't process correctly" and had somehow become $90 in late fees. I never received a call, email, or notice about this supposed failed payment--not once in five months. On 12/2/25 Gaby said she left a note for the manager, Alex, to contact me by the end of that week. I requested an email or note for record. Gaby wrote me a written note that they will "See about the discrepancy". Note attached below I called again the next day and was told he was busy with staff training, but that I'll get a call back. It's now 12/10/25, and I still haven't received a single response from Alex. Phone call nor email. I will be submitting a dispute to the collections agency, California Department of consumer affairs and credit bureau dispute. read more

I've been coming to this Fitness 19 since October of last year. I primarily go to attend Greg Telles' spin classes, and I cannot say enough good things about Coach Telles! However, I had the strangest experience today. My fiancé wanted to try out this gym in hopes that we could start working out together. As a member, I was able to get him a "free 7 day pass" as advertised through the app. I sent him the link to the 7 day pass so that he could sign up and be sent the pass through his email. When he received the pass, it said it was for 3 days, not for 7. Okay weird, but whatever. The email with the pass clearly reads, "To redeem your 3-day pass, please visit Fitness 19 Claremont and show this email to the Fitness 19 Team Member at the front desk. They will activate your guest pass and you can enjoy Premium access to our gym for 3 days, commitment-free.". Upon arriving to the gym, I scanned in using my usual member QR code and let the staff member at the front desk know that my fiancé was going to be using one of the 3-day passes. He presented the pass to her and she looked at it and said, "We need to see an ID in order for you to use this". He let her know that he unfortunately did not have his ID with him, and she said "sorry you have to have your ID in order to use the gym". I thought this was strange since I had already brought 2 other people to the gym using these passes, and never once have they needed to present ID. We turned around to leave since it was clear that he wasn't going to be permitted to use the pass without ID, but then the staff member said, "well you can sign up for a day pass and you can use that, it's $20". So you absolutely have to have an ID in order to use the free pass, but if you pay $20 then all of the sudden, no ID is required? Interesting. He decided to go ahead and pay for the pass so we could just be done with it and go workout. After paying for the pass, they said they needed some information from him. He needed to provide his phone number, email address, and birthday. Okay fine. Then after we're thinking all of this is finally done, the staff member tells us to take a seat on the couch in the waiting area so that her manager can, "finish up with us". At this point I'm extremely frustrated, there's no reason why this needs to be such an exhausting process. The entire interaction from start to finish was extremely odd and off putting. Needing your ID to use a free pass, but then all of the sudden no ID being required if you're willing to pay $20 is super shady. read more

BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEE ON CANCELATION!! I paused my account for 4 months for this gym, and the manager told me that they will remind me before my gym membership about to reactivate again. NO REMINDER. Luckily, I remembered to cancel it. Called their support because I couldn't cancel on the app itself. They helped me to access a hidden form to cancel my membership. I questioned, but the process was fast so I didn't mind. I looked at my bank account and I still saw my subscription with fitness19, so I unsubscribed it. Now, they charge me $30.99 ($20.99 + $10 late fee) because they couldn't get the extra money from my bank and revealed that they have a 30 day policy after cancellation. I'm mad because I saw reviews of people praised this small gym, so I gave it a try. NEVER AGAIN! Edit: They had been secretly charging $32 weekly for PT without my knowledge. I noticed those charges after checking my credits activity. I didn't know about them since I signed up, and I thought I only pay for PT when I request them for the week. Apparently, there is hidden club website that keep a record of your history payments, your upcoming charges, and documents signed by you. I didn't have the account (the gym didn't inform me) but managed to sign up. That was where I discovered all the charges. From there, I learned that I somehow signed up for recurring PT session in their contract, I didn't. I remember them asking me to sign a lot of paper when I signed up for the gym, saying it's just their procedures without explaining them clearly to me. I was stupidly followed without questions, because I thought this is just a small gym to support. Their sign up process is overwhelmingly complicated to confuse you. Check your bank account just in case you not getting extra charges from them. read more

The weekend of April 25th/26th I had gone with a friend because of the plus one rule that fitness19 has which actually isn't a bad rule. I kind of like it. I usually go on the weekends with my friend because my home gym their hours aren't the greatest on the weekends, so this particular weekend stood out because out of all the gyms I have gone to being a member or being a plus one was one of the more interesting experiences to say the least. While my friend was scanning in I didn't see a worker in the front so I just walked in instead of having to do the signing in process as a guest, and I look over and whoever was supposed to be working was sitting down in her chair with her head down, and she was like that for like a very long time definitely over 15 minutes. Well over 15 minutes. I guess she was supposed to be the one working. It was really unprofessional I did want to buy a drink but once again she had her head down not doing anything. I thought she was sleep to be honest. It sure looked like she was sleep. Especially from the time me and my friend were there until close to leaving. It was the short girl with the glasses who is always looking mean. This was around the later evening times I believe. On top of that the wipes ran out, and you can't tell her anything because she also has an attitude but this time, she was sleep or whatever so had to go and try to find wipes to clean the equipment, the next weights that I was going to use. Hopefully next time she will have better customer service skills, but it definitely wasn't a good look. Hopefully management or whoever will clean up the act there and make sure things like that don't happen because anything can happen, gym members including me who comes as a guest need help with things. All I am saying is that shouldn't be the first thing people come in and see is someone who is working is looking like they are sleeping or too tired to function and do their job. read more

I always pass by this gym but never thought that I would commit myself to improve my health and lose weight, but now I am here feeling motivated! This gym is super SPACIOUS AND CLEAN. Upon entering, I was assisted by the employees. I had to provide my email address and phone #. They also take a photo of you. You have to give them your ID/Driver's License for those trying out the trial. The women's restroom is also clean with showers and lockers inside. You have to bring your own locker, but I observed a lot of people just carrying their bags with them from machine to machine. Overall 5/5. I absolutely love this gym. It has definitely helped me and it has become an outlet to relieve stress. As a part caretaker for my mom, the time that I have in not helping my dad take care of her is extremely precious. I prioritize that time with coming to the gym. Attending the spin class has been the highlight of my days. I am always grateful for each class that I take as it allows for me to tune everything else out. Those 45 minutes, I am able to not worry about my mom and able to give it my all. Coach Greg is amazing in how he has structured the class. He pushes us all and makes us better every day. But on that note, I must point out that there is still opportunity for this gym to be better too. With the recent improvements that surrounding gyms have had with new equipment, machines, and facilities (the Vault), it has been noticed that Claremont has not had improvements. It is obvious that the property is too small to add a Vault extension, but in replacement new machines should be ordered for this location to make up for that disparity. Currently there are 29 bikes in the spin class studio. More than 1/2 are either broken or extremely difficult to use. Even the top cyclers in the class are unable to use them. This past week we have had full clases but some people have had to leave class due to the bikes breaking down. How fair is that? Luckily I have not had to leave the class but I would be extremely dissatisfied and disappointed even I had an experience like that as the time outside of taking care of my mom is extremely precious. read more

Not new to personal trainers but Ryan is a gem. I appreciate that she actively listens to my needs and tailors the sessions to where I am at. I am working through some shoulder and neck problems and she has managed my workouts to account for that without overworking the injury. I highly recommend her! Many of the Fitness 19 gyms closed during Covid 19 era in 2021. Some reopened including Fitness 19 in Claremont. They are now independently owned and all billing and customer service ( ABC company ) is done by a call center in the Philippines. The gym is run by mostly kids and there is one Manager that exists and if she is not present , there is no leadership available to make decisions. Billing is problematic and dealing with the one Manager and the ABC ( Call Center ) is a joke! Whatever plan you choose will end up charging you more down the road and the rules of engagement of the contracts seem to change as the day is long. Personally I would never utilize this franchise again. I was mislead and they charge late fees, cancellation fees and my pricing changed a few times before I caught it on my checking account. They charged my debit card that was not on file an Additional month without my permission. BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR AND Check your bank act monthly to make sure the billing is correct. You don't want to sign up with anyone but the manager as their ( special promotions ) will still bill after the promotion is over. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I'm from out of town but have a regional membership. Definitely cleaner than most gyms I've been to. Not so crowded, I came in at 6:50pm and while there were a lot of people, there was still a lot of machines available for me to use. My friend and I were consistent members at this gym for 3 years with a premium membership and towards the end of our membership we had finally had enough of the harassment from physical trainers at this establishment as well as the poor customer service in regards to policy and overall treatment of those going to the gym. I had the hardest time trying to reach Alex, the club manager, in regards to cancelling our membership as well as trying to get a refund for another monthly payment. When I had called right before they finally cancelled, she was very rude and didn't offer any helpful suggestions to assist with my experience of sexual harassment. After crew had explained that I would not get charged, the gym charged my account again and made me get an overdraft charge with my bank, this was in regards to the monthly payment i was told i wouldn't have to pay and wanted a refund for. Crew have given my friend and I dirty looks and used motives of intimidation to get us to leave areas of the gym for classes and machine use. I have had to wait weeks to cancel especially with the mention of sexual harassment. This is the worst customer service I have gotten from a gym and I hope that anyone looking for a gym will never sign up. They will take your money and ignore any concerns you have even in regards to sexual harassment. WARNING TO ALL LADIES!!! The assistant manager aubrey was also extremely rude and actually hung up on me and my friend while we tired to candle our membership and get information, receipts and confirmation of the actual cancellation. I previously was going to Fitness 19 in Chino and did not have a good experience at all. BUT THIS LOCATION IS A GEM. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions during my sign up. I even noticed how friendly and happy clients are at this location compared to chino. The machines are new and clean. I also like the way the machines are set up with enough space to move around and grouped with the appropriate muscle you're targeting. I had to use an Anytime Fitness center while out of state recently. There were three weight stations I use regularly at Fitness 19 in Claremont that I couldn't find at the Anytime Fitness Gym. I asked the manager, and he apologized, explaining they did not have those machines. I'm back home in nearby Pomona today and will go to the Claremont Fitness 19, knowing I can get a full workout there! I highly recommend you try it! Update: Management responded to my sound level issue and I'll give F19 the benefit of the doubt (as in, I'll keep this 4-star rating until something changes). Fitness 19 deserves four stars for its newer gym equipment, clean and quiet facility, and responsive management. Decent locker rooms except those fancy Dyson hand dryers keep tripping my Apple Watch's loud environment alerts. This is a smaller gym so they'll be an issue if it gets crowded but gym patrons seemed OK to share equipment when busy and that's a good sign (versus sitting on the equipment while on the phone yapping). If management can maintain their Life Fitness equipment then this gym will be a winner. read more

I have been attending Fitness 19 since early 2023 and enjoy the club. Their machines and workout areas satisfy my current fitness needs and goals. Coming back from a back/shoulder injury and not working out for about three years, I wanted to ease myself back into it, so Fitness 19 was a good option for what was available in my area. The areas and equipment are well-maintained, and I have observed that equipment out of service is generally fixed timely. About six months in, I wanted to take it more seriously and challenge myself. So, I decided to seek personal training and was paired up with Jacob, who has been a godsend. He's not just good; he's a great personal trainer! I shared my fitness goals with him, and he came up with a regimen that will help me meet those goals. He motivates me to push myself (within reason) and knows my limits regarding strength and endurance while ensuring I am hitting the correct form. Every few weeks, we check my progress, reassess my goals, and change the exercises so that I always do something different to avoid plateauing. In all my years working out before my injury, I have made significant progress since starting personal training with Jacob. Around June/July of this year will mark my one year with Jacob. I had switch from gyms due to my previous gym shutting down. si was hesitant to starting personal trading at fitness 19 but luckily I was paired up with Marcos. He was so so friendly and helpful when it came to my weight training workouts. He was able to teach me correct positioning and always pushed me to lift heavier. I recently let go of my training with Marcos due to financial reasons but eventually I would like to restart and be able to continue my training with Marcos.
